  • Now to this, Rod Serling can be glad that his face was on.

  • I allways wondered what was in dogfood

  • Bobby ,a great actor in this & then love all Bobby's work . Bobby is so cool in his mustache .Bobby , loveeeeeve you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the news headline for the " Daring Robber", Rob= Bob, and darin..g Bobby darin. Nice trick to sneak it in.

  • Good to see this! Darin's ex-wife, Sandra Dee, also guest-starred on an episode of "Night Gallery" - "Spectre In Tap Shoes". Thanks for posting.

  • Damn Kevin Spacy looked so much like Darin, no wonder he was picked to play him.

  • One of my favorite Night Gallery segments (And I've seen them all) A great short and sweet story! Jack Albertson and Bobby Darin are wonderful, especially Albertson's "That'll teach the little rascal to play hooky!" lol

Rod Serling was a true genius and he is truly missed!

  • Night Gallery....Great of the Time....

  • Singer Bobby Darin and Oscar winner Jack Albertson. air date 02/09/72

  • Well Bobby Darin sure bears an uncanny resemblence to Kevin Spacey here! :O

  • @MrHarlee2006 I will tell you this. Kevin Spacey played Bobby Darin in the film Beyond the Sea. If you haven't seen it you ought to check it out. The film also co-starred Kate Bosworth as his wife and actress Sandra Dee.

  • @SCBOI82 : yes I know. I have seen Kevin Spacey in that Bobby Darin in that movie "Beyond the Sea" Hence the basis for my comments.

  • Would love for this and 'One Step Beyond' to make it to the SyFy Channel.

  • Bobby Darrin looks a lot like Kevin Spacey in this.

  • I love the free Cryptic-Ad for him hidden into the news article. *Daring Robbery,Darin Robbery,Darin Rob,Rob Darin......or,Robert becomes Bob or nick name Bobby. ERGO....DARINg ROBbery ,gets you Bobby Darin went reversed with a slang of Bobby. The scene is almost a homage to Mack The Knife by Darin with a Harbour backdrop as he sings. YouTube video still available by a search.

  • I remember this episode. I thought it was pretty funny and great kharma.

  • 15,000k just to be poisoned and chopped up into dog food............pphhfffttt

  • This guy wants to go where war criminals went after Germany lost the last world war

  • Allright!! Nice and creepy. Just like the Twilight Zone. Loved Rod Serling, man was a genius. So good to see Bobby play another character actor. I may never look at dogfood in the same way again. Don't think I caught this one when it aired originally. Thanks for posting!

  • That final background song is "P.S., I Love You" LOL

  • The Mr. Landau character did not need or have to pay this Old Man to get to where he needed to go...

Mexico En Route To Brazil, Shave his Face or Dawned a Fake Beard...

This is was in fact during the 60's and the gangster had a better chance of leaving the country, during that time, than today..

    The storyline was Silly

  • That's crazy. Bobby was great. He always play the creep. I was a great character actor!

  • One of my favorites. Small town crook turned into dog food

  • Kevin Spacey looks amazingly like Darin - no wonder he wanted to play him. Both guys are so talented and handsome!

  • I like Spacey, but there was no one like Bobby Darin, besides Spacey was to old for that part...loved the songs in the movie

  • Yes, Kevin was a bit dated for the part, but he was such a good actor, you could almost overlook that.

Bobby Darin was amazing. I know he was nominated for at least one Oscar for his acting talents - probably would have won one if he'd lived longer. What a voice that man had. Today, Jessica Simpson passes for "singing talent." Seems like to succeed in popular music anymore, one's looks matter more than one's ability. As good-looking as Bobby was, his talents were even more impressive.

  • yeah, i agree the resemblance to Darin was remarkable and his overall performance was just as great!

  • My favorite episode was the one where the Nazi was trying to escape his past, and ended up....Don't want to give the ending away for those who haven't seen it.

  • I know the one you're talking about. The ending was a "work of art". LOL

  • @jebeja Yes that was one of three stories that was in the pilot.

  • Amazing-haven't seen this since the early seventies, talk about going back in time.

  • I always liked Night Gallery and hadn't seen it since the early seventies as well. I didn't remember this particular episode, but when I read about it in a Bobby Darin biography, I had to go out and find it. It was worth the hunt!

  • Do you remember at the half hour mark when it was on in the 70s, they showed stretched out faces screaming?

  • I LOVE The Night Gallery! ^_^

  • I've uploaded some clips of the show :)

  • Bobby was such an excellent actor, even in something as short as this. It's very short and very strange, but it was great to see, thanks for posting! :)

  • WOW!!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!!

  • Yeah, I really liked the bizarreness of it. When I got it, I was a little disappointed that it was so short, but it's still good.

  • That was the idea of Night Gallery, a few short scary stories in the course of an hour, I think they later chopped them down to 1/2 hour episodes for syndication
