get a bad connection :) host is given to the player with the best connection to the internet and therefore xbox live. I dont quite know all the specifics though and Im not sure what causes laggy hosts. I do know that things that affect your connection are the kind of modem you have, what router you use (if you go wireless like me). People say wirless is laggier than direct but I have a better connection than almost all of my friends because of my kickass apple router

no problem, glad i could help. oh and i looked into it, theres no real difference between having your xbox hardwired to the internet or wireless, as long as your modem/router is good (like mine as i said). problems do occur for wireless if theres a huge storm (and i mean absolutely giant - its only affected me once) or if the air temperature suddenly changes... also if you are wireless make sure you have a cooler or something near your xbox as the cooler your wireless adapter is the better
