Great post. Thanks for the insight. And as for below, ***youarestupid is correct. In many states, including WA, the feathered head MUST be attached to the bird at transport. So, this is best done at home and not in the field. Read your state hunting regs. In WA it is unlawful to: "Possess in the field or transport game birds unless a feathered head is left attached to each carcass, except falconry-caught birds."
To the last poster, you my friend are fucking idiot! The wings are still attached to the breast. That is usually all that is ever taken due to the legs being to tough to eat most of the time anyway. He pulled the feet and guts out, but left the wings on the breast, so if they were to transport it, there would still be positive identification.
And of course, now, after that procedure is done, it is nearly impossible to positively identify which species and sex the dead bird is, which is why you had better have done this procedure "at home" and not "in the field" - as transporting game birds from the field without either a head and/or feathered wing still attached - is illegal in most if not all states.
Lol, crap. I was doing it the stupid way. This way you barely need to use your knife at all!!! Great video, I'll need to try this next time I go out hunting.
thats a great way to clean the bird. dont do it that way south dakota in the field. without a foot, head or wing, a warden will not know if it is a rooster or hen.

dont you still need to gut the pheasant
tractorman96 2 years ago
just the crop, in which you can use a knife but it's pretty easy to just pull it off.
jeremys720 2 years ago
so when you pull the legs off the guts come out?
tractorman96 2 years ago
Try watchin the video it shows everything.
jeremys720 2 years ago
