I completely agree! I was a "TV Kid" from an early age, (memorized all of the schedules from the 70's and 80's...how sad really). I'm well educated but at 38, I see that I could have been spending my time doing other things. I "turned off" cable tv two weeks ago and it is so great to see my young sons playing instead of "tuning out" in front of the tube. Yes, we may check in on Mister Rogers or Between the Lions...but usually we find some books to read.
