excuse me if i sound ignorant, but whats the orange tape on the guitar for? a mic? I really want to perform music like this so I am attempting to obtain all the information I can.
Almost exactly the opposite opinion here. I was surprised to hear this in a coffee shop today, though. I was trying to tune out the music, since it was all this indie folk crap, but then I was shocked when they started playing a cover of a great old Psychic TV song. Could be worse, I guess.
i thought it to be interesting that Califone would choose to cover a song by Psychic TV, i would never make that connection listening to Califone, music is awesome.
not surprising if one is familiar with Chicago music history, really. It's a city of genre cross pollination. But if one's not familiar with that (i happened to be around the early 90's indie scene there quite a bit, even hanging with Tim Rutilli & Red Red Meat people a few times - a friend was a roommate)I could see how it would be surprising considering the Califone sound.
im organizing my live music by date right now, what part of 2008 was this? thx! :)

I really admired Tim Rutili's lyrics to this song. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it was a cover.
