Hey, this music sounds like it's African or from the Islands. The Black Lodge singers sound like the music I hear at the powwows. I love the wolves though; call me cheese but I adore animal pictures.
beautiful people dont"forget the malediction of Tecumseh. Americans are damned for eternity for their genocide. Their Gods will never protect them. They are inexistent. The malediction is still active. We aspect 2020 and the destiny of the elected president.
If you knew anything about "the Native American Culture" you'd know there's no such thing as what you refer to as "the Native American Culture." There are hundreds of different tribes native to North America, each with their own unique traditions and worldviews. Lumping them all together under one cultural umbrella is frankly, incorrect, and contributes to problematic stereotypes. Please do your research.
It's a good video and Brule is a good group and is rooted in Native American Culture (Lakota, I think) Anyway your intentions are good, that is all that counts.
I wanna thank ColoFratGuy for posting my replies to comments even though I've been bashing his video. I believe you really want to know the truth about our Native Americans. Like I've said, don't take any one's word for things, go straight to the source. I encourage you and all your viewers to check out Whispernthunderdotorg to know what REAL Native America's about. This band "Brule" are a bunch of wannabees. They play "white" music. It's nice but it's not real.
How in God's name can you call this Native music? Look up anything on youtube with the Black Lodge singers and you'll understand why I say this. Also that's about the worst so called Native art I've ever seen. So cheesy and so wrong on so many levels. Please do some research before you put out crap! You could be using your talents for good not putting out stuff that's so bogis.
@WhiteStarWoman if you would see that the music to this video is from the Brule soundtrack! Brule comes from the Native American Culture and as far as the art/pictures are concerned they come from the History Channel, Natural History Museam and some from other IMPORTANT websites from the NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL...so I appreciate where your coming from...but from now on...please do YOUR research before you go slamming other peoples work!
@ColoFratGuy Sorry but just because people call themselves "Brule" does not make them so and I'll assume you didn't look at what I had suggested is authentic Lakota music? If you did and can't hear the difference then you are a lost cause. Oh, and about your so called important websites... I write for one that comes directly from "the People"! You can listen to what the "white" people call Native American or you can listen to REAL Native Americans!
@WhiteStarWoman The members of the music group Brule are in fact Lakota Sioux. Rock, pop & jazz were blended with traditional Native tunes to create the amalgamation of music they perform. My Mother was Ramapough-Lenape, I love the drum that is the heartbeat of Native music but IMO, being different does not mean being wrong.
@WhiteStarWoman There is a video with Brule and an amazing hoop dancer named Thirza DeFoe, You tube won't let me post the link so here is the name of the vid; Brule AIRO - Thirza Defoe Hoop Dance. I hope you enjoy it.
@kalex32 With the exception of the drummer that band is wasicu and they've hired some natives to do their tricks for the white people to try to legitimize their music (notice the color of the audience? Natives wouldn't be caught watching that crap). It's been like this since the beginnings of the reservations. You either do your tricks for the white people or starve to death!!! Wanna see hoop dancing look up Edmonton CapitalEx Hoop Dancing Notice the music? that's REAL!!!!
For your information, you are dead wrong. First of all, Brulee is an American Indian group you dumby, so do your research before you trash other people's work of art. This is not crap, this is real art and stop insulting my daughter's culture and ethnical group. Go out there and educate yourself before you trash other people's work. Stop being so ignorant and so stupid !.
@DrChristineCarlson31 I would hardly call that Native American culture. I've suggested people look at what is real and you'll never find such music at a REAL Sioux gathering. Look up Black Lodge singers or Northern Cree to hear REAL "Sioux" Native music, (Brulee is a band of Sioux but if you were really Native you would know that!). You're the one that could take only a moment and research and then you will see what I'm talking about. Aho!
@WhiteStarWoman nother idiot wants us to stay in the past and not ever do anything modern pls. get a grip- this is fine with me, I am native. I even see some of my relatives here. so get your white star out of your ass.
@kalex32 google "all nations pow wow" and go to the website it will let you know when and where their having it next and then you'll have your choice from several different tribes!!!!
Love the video, love the music, love the images.
