@NYCblues its because now that its officially mandated they don't want to be seen as bigots. Though how they could have not thought they would be seen as such before eludes me...maybe cuz to their mind THEN they were "upholding tradition" or some such tripe. I suppose it's going to be a few decades though until the "flaming homo-phobes" (heh) get considered with the same moronic derision as "good old boys" who say things like "we don't like yer kynd 'round hear darkie"......
@NYCblues I am particularly happy to see that finally my nation's military living up the the very creed and ideals of the nation they lay their lives down defending. It's been a long time coming.
For all the men and women in uniform, during the next few years its going to be even tougher on you then it has been so far, now that your officers and fellow soldiers know you for your true self and alot are going to try to make your lives unbearable, know that true Americans support you.
