Coal is a highly polluting energy source. It emits much more carbon per unit of energy than oil, and natural gas. CO2 represents the major portion of greenhouse gases. "Clean Coal" is an oxymoron. If Reagan hadn't defunded and obfuscated the advances in Solar energy made during the Carter administration, we wouldn't be dependent on coal or petroleum for our energy now. I keep thinking about it. Thirty years of research that never happened. How many lives lost? How many rivers polluted beyond recovery? How much wildlife destroyed? Clean Coal? I don't think you are getting enough oxygen to your brain!
