FUNNY! My brother just told me about this vid. That's my line! I've been saying hell-in-a-hand-basket since some 80s movie way back, but especially since 2005-2006. How can people pay 250K for homes in Compton? Yeah, the bubble wasn't too obvious. LOL

He's right on some things; wrong on others. He's hugely in favor of increased military spending - we already spend more than the rest of the world combined. He's bought into the insane myth that Iran is a big threat we should fear. That's military/industrial propaganda like the kind that prompted the shameful destruction of Iraq.

He's a very bright guy, though, generally, and I like that he's compassionate and an activist when it comes to the horror we inflict on animals.

In 2007 Ben Stein was arguing with Peter Schiff over the state of the economy on tv. Peter was warning us that our excessive borrowing and bad mortgages were going to cause a massive recession within a year or two. Stein scoffed at this, and argued that the subprime market was so tiny that it would never have an impact on our economy and that we'd be sailing on a sea of cash from the stock market by now. Yeah right.

I'd take everything this guy says about the economy with a heavy grain of salt.

I'd take anything anyone says about the economy with a full saltshaker of salt. A national economy is a very, very complicated thing to model, and generally market analysts are left with some degree of guesswork.
