If real blanks were fired it would distort the camera mic, have a recoil, muzzle flash, and you would hear the ambiance of the echos as the cam audio compressor stopped clamping down from the sudden spike in sound.

The are Kalashnikov variants which come in .22 LR and there are also conversion kits for adapting a standard AK to cycle .22LR. Using blanks in .22 Long Rifle would be consistent with what is actually seen on the video. It's a funny video regardless...so we should just laugh at it and not try to show everyone how smart we are by dissecting and explaining it.
