  • I love the Marley family much.

I salute and bow to Honorable Bob Marley and Goddess Rita Marley for giving birth to the Mighty warrior Divine Marley children. I would have loved to given birth to the Marley children.

  • These words are from haile selasie I speech to the League of Nations when Italy invaded Ethiopia......but brilliant nonetheless.

  • brillient bob

  • less than agod, more than a man

  • <3

  • isnt it a strange that bob always sang about peace but now jamaica has one of the highest death ratings in the western hemisphere. people should really listen to what this man is saying. To me bob doesnt represent smoking green but peace and love. Its always nice 2 light one up and listen 2 this man speak the truth though.

  • @jamaicanblooded The situation on the rock is because the crazy baldheads rule a yard.

  • "we dont no trouble what we need is LOVE" thats the message i get out of this song.. no wars ,troubles , just all humans love each other :P that would be a beautiful place to live

  • Tha king himself

  • No one like bob! Tha legend himself

  • the profert is talking about wat his messiah H.I.M selassie said was to happen so u cant say dat he stole the words or something like that he is delivering a message for the second time from H.I.M Haile, JAH bless all

  • H.I.M. Haile Selassie I Speech to the United Nations (excerpt)

New York City, NY October 4, 1963

"...until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; (cont)

  • @helenred1 I believe he was appealing for help after Mussolini had or was about to attack Ethiopia, hence further troubles for HIM and Ethiopia,

  • it is deprevied from a speach given by Haile Selassie him self. peace.

  • is germany???

  • meu nome é Diogo e sempre soco punheta quando vejo o Bob!

  • Haile Selassie King of Kings

  • i make mention that all africans will unite!!!

    Jah Rastafari!!!!

  • the words are from a speech given by Emperor Haile Selassie at the United Nations in October of 1963. I believe it is one of the most powerful speeches ever made.

  • @scotti115 the most high speakin you know?

  • @scotti115

I agree with you 100%. It's one of two of my favorite speeches ever. The other one is Frederick Douglass, "What To A Slave is The Fourth of July."

  • n17ist = duh

  • ..legend!!

  • Original origin?

  • Until the philosophy which hold one race superior And another Inferior Is finally And permanently Discredited And abandoned - Everywhere is war - Me say war. That until there no longer First class and second class citizens of any nation Until the colour of a man's skin Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes - Me say war.
  • does anyone know the name of this riddim?

  • WAR

  • End yourself....

  • Bob ,s words got nothing to do with revolution, but the truth.Forget about him repeating the word (war0and listen to what he is acuatully saying

  • what alot of people dont know is that the lyrics to this song was actually a speach by haille salasie.one love, jah rastafari.peace!

  • @mahmoud98003 I follow you, but don't concur your interpretation of the song "War" lyrics. Assuming your argument is that war is the final resolve, unless all societies fail to meet, commit or to embrace equality, justice and freedoms of all citizens collectively. This song yells out revolution, rightful anger against immorality, demands it with words of wisdom and divine intervention. "We African shall fight if we find it necessary and we shall win, because we our confident into victory...

  • @mahmoud98003

sorry to be picky but they're Haile Selassie's words actually - from a speech delivered to the UN :-)

However, I totally agree with the rest of what you say - this is not a call to arms!

  • @mahmoud98003

Like Bob's interpretation better, because when H.I.M gave that speech to the UN nobody in the whole world didn't care help Ethiopia from fascists.

At least when Bob Marley sings it, and then whole planet listens to the teaching of JAH.

  • @mahmoud98003 They are not Bob's words.......but yes people please listen to the words!

  • @mahmoud98003 Bob meant it metaphorically, because this is only resolve or solution, which is going to war. Word "war" is thought provoking or a strong political stance, so it served it's purpose. Would seem strange or awkward if he chose other worlds, like wisdom, marijuana or ganja, even Jah over and over again, wouldn't it :)? Love the usage of the word "war", because it later in the song he concludes it with the words, "What we need is *(LOVE)." Bob's music is completely undeniable genius.

  • @KingSolomonUW2004 Amen brotha!

  • @mahmoud98003 Bob was spiritual. That´s why they are timeless.

  • @mahmoud98003 These are not his words. These lyrics are taken from a speech made by Haile Selassie

  • @m3nchii True, but he superbly put it in song. What a great masterpiece. RIP Bob

  • Sinead o' Conor made VERY good use of these lyrics at Saturday Live in the US!!!!

She fricked out all the religius Rednecks after tearing a pop's picture!!!!

    RESPECT to all!!!

  • Good the lyrics made you think.......but dont look it from one side only, it makes you look stupid!!!!

This song is great because you can connect it to many different cases despite its original origin.

  • cool

  • i can't wait till this concert be released on dvd, he was on his best .

  • Perhaps you´ll find this concert under WDR Rockpalast, Dortmund, Germany 1980. I recorded it on VHS many years ago. The japanese double-CD I bought has a bad (no bass) sound-quality.

  • Thanks bro i'm going to check it out .

    peace

  • WAR

  • i agree,i think this was his best performance and the sound was awesome ! I'm hoping they'd actually play this whole concert in movie theaters then release it on DVD.

  • war....until the color of a man skin is no more signifiacant than the color of his eyes....best revolutionary song ever!!

  • the lyrics were actually a speach written by haile salasie, its about why theirs war and how it will never stop unless we get past all this petty nonsense.godbless, and jah lives children jah lives!

  • This concert MUST have been such an amazing one ♥

  • EZEORION: Not Wrong, please read my post well before saying that I am wrong. if you notice, I said " you would think that this song was made for Isreal" but I did not say for fact it was made for isreal.. How about retaken some ESL classes? may be it will help you understand what you read.

  • You would think that this song was made specially for Isreal. Isreal must understand that there will always be WAR if basic human rights is not guranteed to all Arabs.

  • I think you need tol ook around what type of nonesense is going on in the world today and listen to this song again and study marcus garvey..

    Bless

  • WRONG.read the history this ain't connect to israel this is the emporer(selassie)'s speech to the UN on southafrican aparthaide and all aggresion in africa

  • Good lyrics!
