The flyers have 49 million dollars locked up for next year, and the salary cap is going to be at least 55 million. They can sign both Carter and Umberger, if they get rid of Hatcher or he retires. Hatch is set to make 3.5 million next year, so with that money, the flyers would have 9.5 million, and put 8 toward Carter and Umby.

Why would Knuble retire? He's still young. And I don't think they will release Umberger he's too good. I think tehy will get rid of Kappy which is sad because I love him. But definately keep Carter. And sadly probably get rid of Prospal because of Gagne. But why are you talking about this now? This is our team and this is the team that is gonna give us a chance for the cup. No. Knuble is 35 at the moment. He'll be 36 on July 4th this year.

I honestly don't think he'll retire yet. There are plenty of people who are older than he is. Unless this small injury keeps him out for a while, which I highly doubt.

I don't think Gagne will come back. If he does, I don't think it'll be for long. That's just my opinion, though.

I think they'll keep Mike, though. He's been a big help to the team for the past few years. He's my favorite player, so I could sound biased.

Prospal has proven great chemistry with Briere, so it seems like he will be a priority to re-sign, though Carter will be absolute #1 priority.

I was one that thought Knuble might be traded at the deadline, but I believe he will play out his contract here now. He's an excellent veteran leader.

No, but his 2.8, plus Hatchers 3.5 plus the 8 mil they are under the cap after the rumored cap increase will be enough for Campbell, Jones, RJ, Carter.

That's how much the flyers will have to put out to keep the 3 players and sign Campbell. Sami Kapanen just retired so that gives us another 1.25M to spend. Knuble will be 36 in July. The cap is projected to go to 56M. If we dump Knuble and Hatcher, that will bring us down to 41.97M. That's enough to sign Carter, Umberger, and Jones. We would then have 4.78M left to work with. That's not enough to sign Campbell. Ryan Sutter from the Preds works.
