this team wasnt our best flyers team but i did love how hard they played and how much intensity they would bring on nights like this. what a great playoff run. knuble biron upshall umberger hatcher smith lupul hard to believe in two years theyre all gone
I have a feeling the Flyers are going to regret trading Knuble let alone trading him to a Division rival. I sure hope that Pronger isn't a bust. Knuble will be missed. He was great in Philadelphia. Great fit!
1. they didnt trade him. they just didnt resign him. 2. the caps arent in their division. the flyers are in the atlantic division. The caps are in the south.
no worries, Caps fans are already jumpin on Knuble i wouldnt be suprised if his Caps jersey went up for sale durring this upcomming season, he is exactly what the Caps need. i love how he plays and will have nothing but respect for the guy, even when he was a flyer i thought he played great, very hard nosed.
i see the caps going deep in the playoffs with knuble. he can only positively effect a team. teams that let him go miss him when hes gone because hes an integral part of any team he plays for.
i hope your right, i like how the Caps are gettin some love and being ranked very well, and gettin great new players and are still young and everything i just hope its not just all hype and no show. i wanna see the Caps live up to their hype. i think they will.
there's no reason not to like knuble (besides the fact that he's slow). the guy is a stand up character; caps fans are going to love his effort and presence.
yes and lupul will be missed on the center city line word on the street it pittsburgh is signing knuble which sucks dick we dont have the money for him and id rather try to sign scottie anyway
this tsn guys rock. i also miss the commentating of gary thorne and bill clement. espn claims its all about sports but they show more poker than hockey, haha
actually, all the versus broadcasts were blacked out in philly, until the conference finals, so we could only see jim jackson and bill clement. thanks though.
i disagree, i would also disagree with the popular notion that doc emrick is a good hockey broadcaster. i'd prefer benninati to emrick 10 times out of 10. still, i'd rather hear jim jackson and bill clement call every game.
i think if you live really close to canada some cable networks carry it but i dont think you can other places. i wish you could because they do much better than versus/nbc
The flyers have 49 million dollars locked up for next year, and the salary cap is going to be at least 55 million. They can sign both Carter and Umberger, if they get rid of Hatcher or he retires. Hatch is set to make 3.5 million next year, so with that money, the flyers would have 9.5 million, and put 8 toward Carter and Umby.
i was at this game and game 3 and game 3 vs the canadiens lets go flyers whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo were going all the way
Why would Knuble retire? He's still young. And I don't think they will release Umberger he's too good. I think tehy will get rid of Kappy which is sad because I love him. But definately keep Carter. And sadly probably get rid of Prospal because of Gagne. But why are you talking about this now? This is our team and this is the team that is gonna give us a chance for the cup. This is the playoffs and nothing else matters. PS GREAT GOAL. I was watching it at home and clapping and screaming.
No. Knuble is 35 at the moment. He'll be 36 on July 4th this year.
I honestly don't think he'll retire yet. There are plenty of people who are older than he is. Unless this small injury keeps him out for a while, which I highly doubt.
I don't think Gagne will come back. If he does, I don't think it'll be for long. That's just my opinion, though.
I think they'll keep Mike, though. He's been a big help to the team for the past few years. He's my favorite player, so I could sound biased.
ok they (the flyers) are probably gonna release umberger so they can sign carter then anyone who signs umberger we get a 1st round draft pick from the team thats sings him because he is a restricted free agent plus knuble is probably gonna retire which is a real shame
yeah, but there's a problem called salary cup and a guy scoring 2 goals last night: carter....and i would prefer signing him long-term instead of keeping knuble
Knuble is 34... and his 2.8m isn't going to clear enough space to sign a Redden or Campbell...
Prospal has proven great chemistry with Briere, so it seems like he will be a priority to re-sign, though Carter will be absolute #1 priority.
Jones and Umberger are also RFA...
I was one that thought Knuble might be traded at the deadline, but I believe he will play out his contract here now. He's an excellent veteran leader.
No, but his 2.8, plus Hatchers 3.5 plus the 8 mil they are under the cap after the rumored cap increase will be enough for Campbell, Jones, RJ, Carter.
That's how much the flyers will have to put out to keep the 3 players and sign Campbell. Sami Kapanen just retired so that gives us another 1.25M to spend. Knuble will be 36 in July. The cap is projected to go to 56M. If we dump Knuble and Hatcher, that will bring us down to 41.97M. That's enough to sign Carter, Umberger, and Jones. We would then have 4.78M left to work with. That's not enough to sign Campbell. Ryan Sutter from the Preds works.

2.8 mil for a 37 year old winger. The Flyers may trade him to clear salary to try and sign someone like Wade Redden or Brian Campbell.
