Ironilcally the gatherings are called Homecomings. Oh can you imagine the Homecoming that is still to come!!! Hoe wonderful that will be!! All the saints singing together. That will be the only chance I will get to sing with these greats and I am looking forward to that day!
Woke up this morning with this song on my mind, but could not remember much of it. Going through many clips here this is by far the best to me, simply because he is not performing, he is singing from his heart. My sentiments exactly, if we can only help and not hurt...
This was the last song JD Sumner did with the Stamps. The last recorded line wasA few weeks ago, J.D. and The Stamps Quartet recorded their
final project. The last words J.D. ever put down on tape were
these, If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living
shall not be in vain.
Amen since then we have lost so many of the older saints that the homecomings brought to us. God bless them and even if we never met them they helped us.
it just goes to show that not only was Glen the Greatest Lead singer, he believed what he was singing..... far to few are the ones still out there living and believing what they sing.
there is a profound message in this song and it really touches my heart to hear Glenn singing it.

I met him at a concert one time as a young college student. He was as real as you see on stage. What a singer what a voice, what a man.

The words in this song are indeed meaningful. If I have not helped anybody, my living is in vain.
