  • Sweet!!

  • I like the original version better, dammit!

  • Way to not bleep out the word "shit". Now I can't show this to my students....

  • @bomboy7, I didn't notice that.

  • @colkestrel it's isu(Iowa state university) not isc:)

  • @millieb777 When they did this it was ISC not ISU. Hence in my comment I think you replied to I have this "ISC (ISU now)"

  • It should be noted, though, that gay marriage was "legalized" here by judicial fiat, and it cost the judges that voted for it their jobs. The legal status of same sex marriage is extremely precarious here and likely won't survive the next election cycle, once the Republicans retake the state senate.

  • @Halo4Lyf i dont think thats worth noting at all. first of all, showing the sacrifice of the the judges just strengthens the point that against adversity, they still voted it in. and your opinion about how precarious it is, is only that. your opinion. if you could predict the future id bring you to vegas with me. but you cant, so your opinion remains nothing more.

  • @drummerjacob Actually, it's considerably more than my opinion, considering that the judges in question were voted out by popular referenda. Kinda qualifies as an expression of the voice of the people of Iowa, no?

  • Des Moines seems nice. Wish you guys would have voted Paul in...

  • "shit-ton" is clean... "shit" is not ;)

  • A fellow iowan approves this video,

  • Depends on what you consider personal computer. I consider a personal computer to be able to be purchased by the average American and stored in a bedroom. ISC (ISU now) did not make this. If you are talking about a machine that does computations ISC wasn't the first to do this either. That goes to Henry Babbage in 1910. What you know about Iowa now son?

  • @colkestrel First digital computer was at ISC. Are you so lazy you cannot use google?

  • @farlcoon Sorry to burst your bubble but he said "your probably watching this on your computer, any guesses where it was invented. ISC did not invent the computer. Machines that did computations were around before ISC made their digital version. If he said that the digital computer was invented in Iowa then I would have nothing to say. Not the the ISC computer was even fully functional. I think you need help with google searches, or you could just know the history like me.

  • @colkestrel I wish I was as clever as you.

  • @farlcoon I know most people do wish to be as clever as me =^_^=

  • @colkestrel what are you talking about 'ISC?' are you meaning ISU?

  • @colkestrel Sit down son...

  • hai

  • Fuck you bicth I live in Iowa

  • someone should make one about ohio

  • WOW! Now i love iowa!! Just fucking kidding every state except mine sucks.

  • sure. nothing wrong with shit. ever seen a feed lot?

  • Thats our state FLAG >:/

  • 1:27

    Is that a Mexican flag?

  • @IowaFilmmakers Fuck you.

  • @24Kenyan

    F U C K Y O U.

    Have a nice day.

  • Regarding the next post, I'm sure some of you RE-tarded iowans will respond completely off the mark regarding the analogy to the development of SHOES, so let me help you pathetic, iowa public schools - educated morons:

If some particular individual claims credit for the invention of shoes, they're ego is mistakenly bloated--things like shoes and computers would inevitably have been developed by almost fucking ANYBODY who is halfway competent -- but then that excludes most iowans....

  • @gj7l1O0ij49gq1l00O0l I'm going to assume you're not from Iowa. Since we've reached such a conclusion, I'd like to point out that you can't judge something you don't know. I agree, computers would have been invented at some point in time but Iowa State happened to do so FIRST. The U.S. sent the first man to the moon. You like to brag about that, right? Stop kidding yourself and get over your idiotic, childish, uneducated thoughts. You don't know the first thing about Iowa.

  • "the personal computer was invented at fucking hillbilly shithole iowa State University, home to the most hideous, homely college age chicks in the midwest."

    Whoop-de-fucking-do.

It's like taking pride in the invention of shoes.

Newsflash: your fucking retard contribution to that development (1) was just a step in the process of computer development, but more importantly -- do you fucking believe that if it weren't for ISU, personal computers wouldn't have been developed?

    Delusional losers.

  • @gj7l1O0ij49gq1l00O0l By the way, if you plan on assuming I'm going to spend the rest of my life in Iowa because I think it's so great, you're wrong yet again. Yes, I plan on attending college in Iowa next year, but I also plan on moving to New York, California, or Minnesota once I earn my degree. I wouldn't know from personal experience but judging by your unknowledgable imcompetence, it sucks to suck. Thank you for your time, sir. I'm from Iowa, bitch.

  • @sunnygrl5,

What kind of naive moron are you? You are either (1) born there, seldom / never spend time out of iowa, or (2) you moved there from elsewhere.

If you truly believe those things about your dreary, frozen shithole AND (1) applies to you, you could theoretically be explained as pathetic, but if you fall into category (2), you are truly one ignorant piece of shit.

The children in iowa are fucking RE-tards, with fucking RE-tarded hick parents.

The "quality" people left long ago.

  • That cake looks good.

  • The computer was invented in Cali don't say it's from fucking Iowa, bitch pls

  • @Wiprud33 Google "Atanasoff-Berry Computer", then google "Robert Noyce"

  • They only forgot two things:

    1. We have some of the best doctors and hospitals in the country.

    2. Iowa is the #1 place in the country to raise a child.

BOOM. I just blew your mind. Iowa is amazing. You haters just wish you lived in such a beautiful place like this.

  • fuck iowa! i hope another flood inundates that piece of shit state and all those dumb fucking corn farmers drown along with their subsidies. So go fuck yourself!

  • Where's Linky the Wheaten from Iowa City? He's no conservative hillbilly.

  • Hey guess what. The first computer was built inside a room 20x9. It was hardware and a 11 inch screen. 200 pixels and it could only play one game. No one cares. 20$ you've drunken a star bucks. Bet you've ate a phily cheessteak. No one cars

  • Lmfao! Yay, that's what's up! :) Iowa kicks ass!

  • Why hate on Iowa? We r just a state like one u live in, trying 2 make a living and avoid all of the stereotypes from ppl who have neither been to ia or care. If u hate Iowa so much, then y r u watching this video?

  • @msouth468 there is no giant lake next to him anywhere in the video that I saw. Also, sorry to say but Iowa DOES have lakes. Some of them rather large.

  • But just as with all the previous presidents if RonPaul becomes President at the end of his election everyone will hate him. History repeats itself so why vote

  • @TheMeanOne100 Maybe you should do some research on him before you judge. Learn why the media is against him. One of the reasons why is because he's the only candidate who's anti-war.

  • Clean version has the word shit in it?

  • @VlogityMe well its a cleanER version i guess

  • Hell yeah!

  • Iowa is the shithole that spawns the nasty cold weather and wind that ends up ruining the tropical paradise that once was Chicago.

  • Iowa has "coastline" like Switzerland has a Navy.

  • Where's Iowa?

  • Neither the personal computer or the computer were invented in Iowa, the Nazis beat Iowa by 3 years, actually he beat them twice, creating 2 computers the Z1 and Z2 prior to Iowa's Atanasoff-Berry machine.

  • "Cleaned up" doesn't include bleeping out "shit-ton" around the 0:50 mark, huh?

  • Nice, but some of that stuff didn't seem like something to brag about.

  • Nice!!!

  • I enjoyed this video.

  • lol, good video.

  • This makes me smile. :)

  • Good one thrash master, a guy who knows his facts is an arrogant moron. Guess I am to. Go Iowa.

  • I live on des moines. It's no different than living anywhere else.

  • This guy is the definition of an arrogant moron.

  • @667THRASHMASTER667 Coming from a guy whose screen name is THRASHMASTER?

  • Did you know that airlines use Iowa to empty their lavatory wastes while they're flying over head?

  • @mechan9 Did you know that planes empty thier lavatory waste after they land? No? To bad, you talk like a fool.

  • Reminded me to Edward Norton in 25th Hour

  • Think again, B***H!

  • This video is an exercise in cherry picking. For a sequel, why not explode the myth that Hitler was such a bad guy by telling us how much he loved his dog.

Iowa is an irrelevant backwater. The three years I lived there was like being in exile. The state’s abundance of “evangelicals” (whatever happened to Jesus freaks?) alone tarnishes its intelligence in a way that ACT scores can’t compensate for. Hucklebee and Santorum and their dangerous theocracies -- nuff said.

  • @locutorprime @locutorprime It is. At the same time, though, Iowa does have a good number of liberals, even if they all flock around Des Moines/Ames, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, and Davenport. Sorry that you must have lived in the south or northwest. Am I right?

Which, by the way, means you are stereotyping Iowa based on the little corner YOU lived in. How's that for cherry picking?

  • @TheMidwestAtheist: Well duh; of course every state has distributions on variables. I’m talking about Iowa’s central tendencies. And I lived in Cedar Rapids, a city that can only get away with considering itself sophisticated because it’s in Iowa, via the contrast effect with cornfields and hick towns. The only oasis of civilization there is the college town of Iowa City -- where, not coincidentally, is the state’s largest concentration of non-Iowans.

  • @locutorprime

yeah - us cool kids just thought you were lame and avoided you like the plague

  • Well done. Being from Nebraska I can't stand the stereotype that comes with being from any state in the midwest.

  • Liberals support Ron Paul in the Republican primary because they "know" he cannot win. I am an RP supporter, but that's just the way it is...

I wish for my fellow RP supporters to not be deceived.

  • Iowa all day !

  • This guys awesome somebody needed to tell all those ppl im from Iowa and I don't live on a farm:)

  • Oh, wow, this video's great! A lot of people are often disappointed by how things are portrayed by the media, and seen by others, so I think it's very clever to use the media to one's own advantage, and in such an entertaining way! This REALLY was an eye-opener for me. Awesome job with this, to say the least!

  • I know where the shit weather of Chicago comes from...

    Iowa!

  • @zippyman818 Yeah, from Iowa, nevermind the giant lake thats right next to you. FAIL!!!

  • I love it!

  • LOL

  • It seems to me the point of this video is to simply say Iowa is not what is often portrayed in the media. I was raised in Iowa, and proud of it. Like any place where humans dwell there are pluses and minuses. Today I live in the NE and I am constantly amazed at how little people know about Iowa or the Midwest. Thanks to the makers of this video for standing up and saying - "Wait a minute, you don't know us!"

  • DOPE video....

  • Such a playa

  • I'm from Iowa and I think this video is crap. For many of these reasons I left Iowa.... full of a bunch of head-in-the-sand liberals!

  • @roawil1 Hasta Luego!

  • Guess you can't have it all...playa.

    IM OUT

  • you uploaded this video to the internet.

where was it invented? ca, ny, ?

    CERN b---

  • @GE0RGEBUSH LOL your username!!

  • back to the same politicies i promise everything and when in office i do what i want to fool you more

  • so Iowa is part of Nazi Germany? The place where computers were invented?

  • @kfleming78

actually it wasnt. that would be Charles Babbage in Cambridge, England... and there was a dispute to whether John Vincent Atanasoff invented it first out of Iowa State University which was actually proved later on as the first electronic digital computer birthplace. so in face it wasn't in Nazi Germany.

  • @bnhrtmn1 He is referring to The Z1 computer which was the first programmable computer built in Nazi Germany by Konrad Zuse.

  • @kfleming78 Actually the Nazis were working on mechanical computers while the digital computer was invented at Iowa State University.

  • @adambomb789 are you using a mechanical or digital computer today?

  • @lovelace52 ...uuuhhhhh digital? See that little @ sign in front of the reply? That means I was replying to someone else. Someone who said that the Nazis invented the computer first...I corrected them and told them the that while the Nazis invented the mechanical computer, the digital computer was invented at ISU. But hey, I don't want to interrupt your beloved Nazi witch hunt with some meaningless context. ;)

  • @kfleming78 the PERSONAL COMPUTER was invented at Iowa State University

  • @24Kenyan I go there. Wonderful school :)

  • Love it. I was born and raised and have lived in every state to the north and east of Iowa (IL, WI, MN), and they've always seemed like good neighbors.

  • Now that, is FUCKING AWESOME.

  • In Iowa, we can do amazing things with corn. Proud to be born and raised in Iowa!!

  • If anyone thinks that iowa has alot of corn,go to south dakota. Everyone is a farmer, Farmer, or pheasant hunter

  • ...first to legalize queer marriage...BOOM!..shot yourself in the dork, definitely a poor choice and not something to brag about, fool.

  • @SirALXNo1 wait, then what are you doing? :O

  • @SirALXNo1 I'd brag about equal rights. He should brag all he wants to. It's a landmark decision, and you're on the wrong side of history.

  • @freeclimber1 aw man, for a second I thought you were gonna say you were born and raised in west philadelphia. then you wouldve been just like the fresh prince of bel air

  • lol, nice beard

  • I just read the results of the Iowa Caucus, and now I do have something to say about Iowa...I.O.W.A.=Idiots Out Walking Around

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. awesome. go hawks ;)

  • Thank you, media and politicians for visiting Iowa. Don't let the corn hit your ass on the way out.

  • what the hell does this have to do with politics?

  • im from Malaysia..but i like u ..u r cute ;)

  • Why is it this guy just reminds me of Ginger boy.

  • I'm proud to be from Iowa :)

  • Now Illinois on the other hand...

  • @mugabugaYT What's wrong with Illinois?

  • BTW to everyone who says Iowa is for growing corn, Iowa is in CNBC's top 10 states for business, Des Moines the top city for hound professionals by Forbes magazine and a neighborhood in Des Moines, Beaverdale (where I live) is in the top 50 prettiest neighborhoods in the United States. Yay Iowa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheJp707 Maybe some Iowans, but not any that I know. And anyway, a lot of America is filled with the same type of people.

  • @rdrakken We have invented plenty. Take Pioneer Hi-Bred for example. Based in Johnston, IA, they produce many hi bred plants and crops to help feed the worlds population. And that is just 1 example I thought of off the top of my head.

  • @kickZtailout STFU so did a ton of the rest of the country. But I gues that is just more proof that everyone in this country is just a bit stupid. Some more than others, and Iowa is definately one of the best states. This is coming from Des Moines, IA, best city EVER!!!!!!

  • If you don't want to live in a communist country. Impeach Obaama.

  • @1Makyo Ha, yeah I understand the frustration. I'm a little more than just a general computer user, but working towards more. I'm currently in the military and am spending a fair amount of my free time learning programming and more about comp hardware etc. I do just want to say though, imagine my frustration at now being in the role of defending our nation when its freedoms are being stripped away. Not asking for a violin or anything, just saying you're not the only frustrated person

  • @jhett7 Thanks for pointing that out.I have 2 sons. Both are doing well, right now, but I don't think it will hold up under this communist Obama. Oldest son graduated USNA in 92. Now out of the military, selling insurance of all things

I feel your pain, as Clinton used to say I had it all, I think. Still fighting to get it back for my grandkids. Thanks for your service. Good luck. Don't grow old...

  • @1Makyo It's communist because he wants to raise the tax rate a few percentage points for the wealthiest americans? Or because he wanted health care for everyone, which can prevent billions in treatment costs? People without health insurance are often afraid to go to the hospital, and by the time they do, they have 3 or 4 other things added on to their original complaint.

  • @briguy23104 No. It's communist because he is a communist surrounded by communists of his choosing. Fundamental transformation of America and redistribution of wealth, all of which is total unmitigated bullshit, but communist just the same

  • Nope I'm watching it on an iPhone made in china so jokes on you fuckwad

  • @tylerss314 <----- Look out, we have a badass over here.

  • @Nyghtewynd you can fuck off, iowa's the best. You dont know shit!

  • That guy was so cool.

  • I like it! Go Iowa! :D

  • Dear whoever you are: you can claim to be as liberal/dependent/"refined" as you want. They will never care and never respect you. Now go back to waiting for your government handout. I weep for what Iowa used to be.

  • Babbage invented the computer at Cambridge in England.

  • @1Makyo First digital computer (basis of modern computers) was made in Iowa. But either way, the point is basically moot because the computer had been in the making before this one, and before the one Babbage created. I know around the same time, Britain developed one and (I think but may be wrong) Philadelphia made one.

  • @jhett7 Among us old time computer scientists, Babbage is generally recognized as the inventor.

  • @jhett7 Babbage originated the modern analytic computer. By 1834 he invented the principle of the analytical engine, the forerunner of the modern electronic computer. .

  • @jhett7 Don't feel bad that I pointed that out to you. Revisionist history is definitely IN nowadays. Information is created to fit the agendas of whomever has the power to make it stick. Lots of things have gone by the wayside. things that were considered gospel in the 40s and 50s and 60s. Even the term gospel has come under attack by lexicographers.

  • @jhett7 gos·pel (gspl)

    n.

    1.

    2.

    a. Gospel Bible One of the first four New Testament books, describing the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and recording his teaching.

    b. A similar narrative.

    3. often Gospel A lection from any of the first four New Testament books included as part of a religious service.

    4. A teaching or doctrine of a religious teacher.

    5. Music Gospel music.

    6. Something, such as an idea or principle, accepted as unquestionably true: My parents' rules were gospel.

  • @1Makyo Yeah, I can understand that point of view. I was speaking out of more technicalities than anything since it seems like the computer has a long evolution cycle before hitting what we know today as computers.

  • @jhett7 I had my first mainframe computer in 1960. Little more than an electronic tabulating machine it was IBMs RAMAC. Kept in a large refrigerated space. Over the years I learned Basic, Super Basic, Fortran IV, APL and studied other languages Cobol

Later got a degree in Computer engineering from Stanford. Worked in Silicon Valley from 1968-75 selling computer timesharing to the scientific community on IBM 365 and GE 420 main frames.

  • @jhett7 Note that my usage of the term gospel will soon drop off the definition as shown in the online dictionary very soon.

  • @jhett7 Sorry to unload on you , dude. It's just a little frustrating at times to see what is happening to our country and to our heritage and morals and history. Glad I lived when I did, , though.

  • iowa won't be nice for long if the libs keep running your country. will turn out like my country, no guns no law to protect the rights of citizens and more right for scum criminals. :) just saying

  • funny. really good vid. iowa is so flat.

  • @MrSuzanne88 No. It isn't. Watch the video on my page, or sign up for RAGBRAI.

  • @MrSuzanne88 The eastern part of Colorado is much flatter than the majority of Iowa, which is rolling hills.

  • Being an Iowan girl, it's nice to finally see some love for the Mid-west! Love the Mid-west, and the Mid-west will love you. (Cuz we made computers and give you food.) (even though I live in the suburbs.) Any more questions? Just ask meh~

  • That building in the thumnail looked like a Daliek

  • Show what I know, I thought Iowa and Ohio were the same place just spoken in a different regional dialect.

  • I love you Iowa. And I always will

  • no entiendo nada porque esta en otro idioma,yo solo hablo español :(

  • He's like a mix of WheezyWaiter and Michael from vSauce ;o

  • I <3 CORN

    -Iowa man

  • Why all the hate on us? Let's see you help on farms or build everything you have yourself. Iowa is over a billion dollar resource with farming.

  • The most fertile land on the face of the earth, and it's cheap to buy. Land that produces food is called WEALTH.

  • If this how people in Iowa act, I never want to go to Iowa.

  • @667THRASHMASTER667 It's exactly how people here act, there nice yet they don't take a bit a shit! Do Iowa a favor and stay where you are...asshole!

  • @truthseeker010101 I'll stay away from Iowa, with pleasure. ~_^

  • Comment removed

  • Only criticism I have of Iowa is the Caucus thing...Only a few people get to vote...

  • @deetjay1 You've never been to one, I am certain of that. ANYONE can go, and you can change your party affiliation if needed on that night. The purpose of a caucus is for each person to pick a candidate, and to also persuade others to pick his/her candidate as well. Then, at the end of the night, the total number of supporters for each candidate is counted up. So, as you can see, each person is involved in creating a "snapshot" of a candidates current popularity, which the other states use.

  • @briguy23104

Changing your political affiliation? That sucks...Like you suddenly had a change of heart? More like you just want to sabotage the other guys favorite player...In Texas primaries, that's a favorite pastime...Nixon's "Plumbers" called it "rat fucking"...Thanks for the lesson in caucus politics...Still think it blows...

  • You fucking left wingbat shit turds gave us Borock, thanks a lot. Everything I need to know about Iowa is was told by the douche nozzle in this video. Fuck Iowa and your voting Democrap in the last 5 out of 6 elections, and as for gay marriage I guess it's true about farmers and their livestock Baaaaaaa.
