Peter's reading list includes Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal by Ayn Rand, which spells it out clearly: government's role is to protect its citizens from aggression, and it must do this as efficiently as possible.
He points out several times that we need to make drastic military spending cuts because we can't afford it anymore. What is so wrong with that?

What's the big fuss about? Peter's view on handling Iran with a "UN Inspectors or Bombs" ultimatum is the most effective method.
The whole reason Iraq and Afghanistan are debacles is because we aren't able to rally our troops against iron fortresses jutting out of the mountains.

So Peter Schiff is not making a mistake when he says that Iran's ambitions for a nuclear weapons capability, must be thwarted. It would've been better if Peter Schiff had pointed out what Ron Paul did which is that Iran is not a threat and they do not have nuclear weapons nor are they trying to develop them.

I've supported Ron Paul for over 10 years. Ron Paul condemns Neocons--read his speech "Neoconned"-came out about 2004. And he opposed everything Bush Jr. did.
But Ron Paul DID propose legislation to use private force to get Bin Laden. Peter Schiff is saying something similar, and it is NOT about occupying countries or being like neocons.
Ron is a TRADITIONAL conservative. He hates using force, but, like Jefferson, knows it has its place.

Schiff has just made one of the biggest mistakes in his short lived political life.
It seems more likely that he has bent to the Israeli lobby. Does he need AIPAC money to get elected? Does he believe that he can't win unless he promises to help kill Israel's enemies?
