Hawaiian dancers are awesome they went to juneau back in 2000 or 2002 for celebration everyone really enjoyed em would be really cool if they went back for it they would make the crowd go wild for sure
I'm just a haole who doesn't speak Hawaiian but I find it to be the most beautiful language in the world. My wife & I are about to make our 12th trip to Maui in 14 years and these videos are like a balm to me while we're away.
Beautiful and graceful hand movements. I like how this is less karate/robot than some other halau who try to change hand movements to make it look more "precise" (a category in judging). This is more traditional. Mahalo.
Perhaps if you understood what the chant or mele was about, you would understand the mana'o behind the motions. I belong to that halau and take offense to your negativity.
Wahinehula didn't name a particular halau in her comment, she simply said "some other halau". It's interesting that you assume it is your halau she is hinting at. Let me guess...from Kalihi and Waimanalo Oahu? Typical.
I've been to so many videos and you keep making that same "karate/robot" comment. You're so annoying. there has to be some other words you can use to describe what you don't like.
