  • Winnie the Pooh has to be one of my favorite cartoon series as a child, even now it means a lot to me. Finding this version was a treasure, I love how they put their own spin on classic characters, but in the end Disney captured what A.A. Milane was trying to portray the best, which I appreciate, and though this piglett and Eeyore are INCREDIBLY cute in this version, Disney seems to capture more of the heart of Winnie the Pooh. Sad to see people putting Disney down. Either way, I adore this!

  • it was made in solviet union and i used to watch it

  • Ummmmmm why does eyor or what ever why does he say damn

  • Eeyore = original emo

  • Comrade Eeyore is very upset because Capitalists have stolen his tail and his vodka.

  • Russian Eeyore = Most morose thing ever.

  • "It's just a joke. Ha-ha." Oh man, that just makes me sad.

  • I lost my shit at 7:46.

  • "...What?" - Deep.

  • I love how Pooh's feet are attached to his body by the non-existing legs! :D

  • cutest thing ever <3

  • Eeyore swore? O_O

  • This is /so/ adorable!!!

  • OMG, when Eeyore was looking for his tail at 2:58 - 3:10, I lost it. :D

  • I love the way Vinny Pookh just shouts out his songs.

  • 2:18... sounds like he said nigga

  • Very intelligent rase :''')

  • 2 top rated comments = expect indie-kid response.

  • 'I even think that I'm getting off'

    Ohohoh, Eeyeore, you scamp.

  • Eeyore's swearing! I THOUGHT THESE WERE CENSORED

  • soviet eeyore <3

  • Да, советские мультфильмы в сто раз лучше любых остальных... Они учат добру, состраданию, а не насилию. Где теперь еще найдешь такие мультфильмы?

    Кстати, очень хороший перевод.

Yep, Soviet cartoons are much better than other. They teach us to be kind and compassionate, not to be violent. Where can we find such cartoons now?

    Wonderful translation, by the way.

  • @EricIntegral Exactly, and they had been made in a country that some late president had called an evil empire, Soviet movies and cartoons were so kind, compassionate and so on

  • 'But who cares?

    Nobody gives a damn'

    aawwhh wittle donkeiiy

  • lol i love how winnie is lik "...wha-whats wrong with you?"

  • Most of Soviet animations were much better than Disney's ^^

  • "A tail is either present or absent, there's no room for mistake here" xDDDDDD

  • @pelotillox

There is a funny censored version on youtube where "tail" is censored. it ends up quite funny...

""A **** is either present or absent, there's no room for mistake here""

  • I hate how the new YouTube is making the bar at the bottom (with the pause and the annotations button and everything) is on top of the video so I can barely even see the subtitles ....uurg!!!

  • Disney is a lot closer to the book, actually. And it added a lot more cute.

As for this, it's adorable in its own way and I bet those who grew up with it love it dearly.

  • i like this piglet so much cuter

  • eeyore is so cute im dying omg

  • i like this better than the disney version and just to be sure was i the only one who heard eeyore say damn

  • SO CUUUUTEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This Eeyore is awesome! I really want to give him a hug, though :(

  • yes, russia is not bad, russian people have a good heart, not oll but the most!

  • Ослик Иа-Иа: "Просто кошмар.." :D

Эта сказка просто лучша всех!! :)

  • Although I absolutely love the Disney Winnie the Pooh, this is still so adorable. <3

  • I have a jar of dirt....

  • I always suspected Pooh was a commie

  • Oh no, Winne has defected to the commies!

  • I love how every other sentence is a philosophical question. For some reason they remind me of Nietzsche, but I am tired so that might be ridiculous.

  • I love the vivid, shaggy, painterly forests in this cartoon, not at all like the dull, plainly drawn forest in the Disney version.

  • @keyboardhero521 The forest is made of actual drawings made by children, btw.

  • @TheFatMob And that's why this cartoon is brilliant! They created a genuine child's vision of the world.

  • Once again, the Soviets pull something off better than Disney ever could.

  • if I were russian I would probably have loved this as a kid

  • 5:21-5:30 Типичная берлога холостяка!

  • as if Eeyore wasn't depressed enough now he's Russian

  • @Manboyno5 HAHA lol that is so bad! ^_^

  • feeling like Eeyore...

  • omg donkey is exactly like my ex-boyfriend! i guess i should've brought him a tail...

  • eeyore here is even thiner than the pooh :D

still like tho. but here pooh is more cheerful

  • I love how Pooh asks questions really fast.

  • The donkey is me.

  • OMG! The best cartoon ever!!!! ... and the little bear is rapping!!!

  • I made you a honey but I eated it

  • Always loved the cartoon. Pooh is voiced by one of my favourite actors of all time.

  • pooh makes me think of cartman from south park lol

  • @blackhole73 he's more like Homer Simpson )

  • so much better than the Disney version.

whoever said communists were not creative is full of bullshit

  • i from mongolia,i like,i so love this anime...thankh's

  • только мультик не полный .

  • I love Vinnie - best part is at 4:45

  • Best things to come out of the USSR:

    Tetris

    Winnie the Pooh

  • Love it, Memories form the past and my two yo loves it too. Thank you very much

  • Cracking job, I love this version of Winnie the Pooh.

  • Eeyore was the first emo evar :o

  • You can't say D*** Eoyre!

  • I love Russian Piglet. What a little darling

  • I want my children to watch this.

  • this should be just as famous as the walt disney version, it's adorable. thanks so much for the subtitles

  • Interesting =)

  • J'adore =)

Merci pour les soustitre anglais =P

-->Thinks for the english subs =P

  • Look! It's the Livejournal pencil!! xD *shot*.

Crying all the way through xD. This is surely the most brilliant thing I've seen for a long while~

  • HALARIOUS!!!!

My fav cartoon of all time and this is my favorite episode bc eyore is such a philosopher .... :) luv the last song as well

THis is one of the many pluses of being Russian :) U Can Sing ALONG

  • best cartoon ever..

  • 7:18 - He doesn't seem at all remorseful that he ate his birthday gift for Eeyore...

  • I adore the translations. Never before has Winni the Pooh spoken so profoundly. "A tail is either present, or absent... Everything is either present or gone...Long words simply disappoint me". And Eeyore's sorrow is presented like a Shakespearean tragedy. Well done all around!

  • I can't pin down exactly why, but I absolutely adore this. From their voices to the music to the hilarity of of Eeyore's depressing-ness I love it all. I love American Pooh too, but this is awesome in a different way.

  • I'm on the fence as to whether American Eeyore or Russian Eeyore is more depressing...

I'm leaning towards Russian Eeyore because of the music. Anyone else?

  • I don't understand the "sawdust in my head" part :c Is it some Russian thing or did I miss an episode?

  • Winnie the Pooh was originally a teddy bear in Christopher Robin's childhood home. He was probably stuffed with sawdust.

  • @oneque1 it means that he doesn't think about anything, he lives with nothing to care about - it's a russian idiom)

  • I love how Vinni asks about his tail... he looks so disturbed... XD

  • Pooh

  • OMG, I love animation style from old Russian cartoons! Pretty and colorful :)

It's very interesting - another movie version of Winnie. Piglet is really adorable ^^

  • this ist the russian winni phoo

  • um *couphs* yes, it is.

  • Who knows what the American Pooh's Russian cousin could have been saying without the subtitles, he could have been talking about Ivan Drago.

P.S. And yes, I know that this is from the 60's and not the 80's.

  • @electricmastro you stole this from cracked, I take it?

  • eyore is emo

  • I love this eeyeore....

much better than the disney version

  • @Miimette

Everything in here is better than the Disney version.

  • @Gil11

    So very correct.

  • @Miimette ya and this is cute

  • @Miimette and he said damn

  • Man, Eyore is depressing...

  • Holy cow! Piglet runs insanely fast.

  • Is EYore the only character in this version who looks like the disney version? Piglet is a little close, but still.

  • amazing

  • The Story is much better than the disney version, its just... i dono! But i Love it!

  • I thought the art style was very interesting, didn't notice anything about the story (except that it was a bit shorteer)

  • (and it's probably a bit more "childish" :) )

  • It's because of the other level of intellect this movie represents. Like the books, they parodise logic and existence philosophy.

Also, Pooh here is naughtier. Way naughtier.

  • @Tristan129: In the books, he wasn't naughty. Far more daring, but not naughty. FYI, the Disney versions uses logic too, but in a way that American children understand. Besides, English is the native language for both the books and the American version, so actually, the American versions--songs aside--would be far more accurate.

  • Thank you for posting these (they're adorable!), and especially the translation. My Russian isn't nearly good enough yet, and the subtitles are very helpful...

  • u8ii

  • oh god, he ate his friend's birthday gift...

  • He makes Disney's Eeyore look like an optimist.

  • Thank you very much for posting this video.

  • I adore this vinni pukh. While I liked Disney's version when I was a child, as an adult I find the Russian version more accessible. Pukh is smart and philosophical, and Eeyore's moroseness is less gentle. I love it.

  • i <3 vini puh!!

  • 3:10 LOL I love it!

  • thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuu1

my husband unfortunately doesn´t speak russian, but now we can enjoy the cartoons of my chilhood together!!!!!!

  • Wow, this is amazing. Thank you for posting it, it's nice to see another version, next to the disney one. This is so different. Made my day

  • director Fyodor Khitruk had not seen Disney's version before making his.

  • but why do they all have the same name? ôO

  • Because they are based on the same book, that was published in the 1920s.

  • Because the characters in both Khitruk's version and that of Disney are based off the English writer A.A. Milne.

  • @BillyBobBobBillyJoe: Because they're based on the same book.

  • wow, thank you so much for translating! I couldn't enjoy them nearly as much without it. :)

  • Wow, this version of Eeyore reminds me of Hamlet. I love it.

  • wonderful !!

  • The Russian version of Eeyore isn't depressed; he just thinks too much.

Love this. Thanks for the translation.

  • much appreciated translation

  • That's great!!!

    But where is part 2?

  • Thanks for posting these, It'd be nice if you could take out the "Please rate :)" Messages out though. They're pretty distracting.

  • There is a button with white triangle in the lower right corner of the viewer. It allows you to turn off annotations. You can use it any time you want :)

  • Thank you very much! You did a good job with these subtitles; there are a few grammar errors here and there, but it's more than serviceable. This is a very long episode and it is a lot of work to translate it, so thank you for getting it done! :)

  • Yep, that's true. I guess not everyone here fully understands the complexity of this task which we do.

So to all who are unfamiliar with the process of subbing: it took me almost 10 hours (split in 3 days) to create this translation.

  • And regarding mistakes - "Let he without sin cast the first stone" ;)

  • It is not grammar errors in the sign - it is reproducion of original spelling

  • I know, I speak Russian too. ;) I was talking about another thing.

  • @lastochka101 I think your message got deleted...

  • nice try

  • Keep the rest coming, these are so great

  • All of the rest are translated; there were only three. I translated the 1st one, vinnipuhi translated the 2nd one, and 0xDD translated the 3rd one (and the 1st one too, but I think my translation is mostly nicer, except in some spots).
