Volt & Ampera's SAE J-1772 charging connector is weatherproof and rain/snow safe. Current will not start flowing until the connection is secure and a handshaking protocol approves commencement of charging.

@Smashingflies Bij GM hebben ze gekeken naar wat de meeste mensen dagelijks afleggen met hun auto. Dat is dus net iets minder dan 60 km. Omdat je ook met gewicht zit. Het zijn, bij mijn weten, gewoon de modernste accu's dus ze doen echtwel hun best. Tuurlijk, privé kun je zulk soort auto's bouwen, maar niet voor de productie. Shell heeft heel lang geleden al zo'n auto geproduceerd die op een paar druppels benzine reed. (iets van 1950-1960)

Deze auto is perfect. Jammer dat dit filmpje beetje vol wordt gepraat met de zo langzamerhand clichés van de elektrische auto's. Als je een Ampera koopt weetje dat hij geen geluid maakt als je op stroom rijdt. Liefhebbers die voor het geluid gaan hebben voldoende andere mooie keuzes bij opel.

De V8 e.d. worden net zo antiek als de stoommachine al blijven ze wel mooi natuurlijk.

GADVERDAMME wat een prius wannabe..en de prius is al lelijk. als ze nou is gewoon verdomme op waterstof gaan rijden,. die auto's zijn er allang, 50 kilometer bereik meer dan benzine,. schoon alleen wateruitstoot. ze kunnen evenveel pk's uit de motors halen met gemak, de motor is niet eens groter. alleen SHELL IS ZO CORRUPT ALS DE PEST, en maakt geen tanks waarbij je het kunt tanken. omdat ze dan geen winst meer maken aan olie...

@silvereagle404 er zit 1 groot verschil, prius gebruikt de benzine motor wel nogsteeds voor aandrijving. Het genereren van electriciteit is efficienter dan de benzine gebruiken voor aandrijving. Met shell heb je absoluut gelijk en met waterstof ook, alleen als waterstof brand.. not visible

@silvereagle404 Jij hebt er dus blijkbaar geen verstand van... Waterstof is echt veel gevaarlijker dan benzine, omdat het veel sneller ontbrandt (in benzine kun je gewoon een lucifer doven). Ook is waterstof geur een kleurloos en de opslag is al helemaal een probleem, want omdat waterstof een zeer lage dichtheid heeft, gaat het gewoon door de meeste plastics (en ook dun metaal) heen. Dit soort dingen echt veilig maken heeft gewoon nog wat tijd nodig.

@martijn10010 blijkbaar heb jij geen verstand van elementen. Waterstof is veel lichter dan lucht, dus tegen te tijd dat het vlam vat, bevind het zich al tien meter boven je. Benzineauto, stofzuiger, koelkast, wasmachine... stuk voor stuk allemaal cynisch decennia terug, maar we leven nog steeds, dus de waterstof auto zullen we ook wel overleven. ;)

@silvereagle404 Zou mooi zijn, alleen jammer dat waterstof niet haalbaar is omdat de motoren redelijk duur zijn om te maken. Brandstofcellen zijn namelijk nogal duur. Verder wordt waterstof uit water mbv elektriciteit en daarvoor moet old school een elektriciteitscentrale. Dat is uiteindelijk te duur en zet geen zoden aan de dijk qua uitstoot (over het hele proces gezien). En waterstof moet flink gecrompressed worden om een beetje range te krijgen

@kagolko they could have done it 50 years ago my friend....Electric cars have been around the 1900's..but there were big interests in favor of oil companies plus half a century ago oil was MUCH easier to extract than to develop EV technology...thats about it...Now there was a GM project in the 90's but i it was stalled (oil company interests maybe?)
