: My neighbor down the street has an original 1972 "Rightside driver" Fairlady 240 G- Z in original dark blue. He asked me if I was interested in purchasing.. The entire car needs a full restoration ; front to back top to bottom.
It runs, but its going to need approx. 10K worth of work..
Any idea where pricing may be on this vehicle ??? It needs electrical, door locks, paint, engine work.. Thanks : DavinciDesign@gmail.com
@millionairecafe I have a '77 280z which I'm building myself. A '72 240zg is pretty rare, specially right hand drive. I paid $1100 for mine...spent about $1200 without labor on the motor alone and its still not 100% done. As for the body...you can get it street ready (all rust removed & paint job) under $6k. I'd say your $10k estimate is about right when all miscellaneous stuff is added up. As far as resale value...I'd say Z's are not as sought after as other classics.
I also have one. That front bumper in the video is a Type 3 Fiberglass airdam like the one they sell at The Z Store... .com.
Also, the rear louvers did come stock from the factory as an option, but they wear metal like mine! The plastic ones are after market and lighter. I may get some side window louvers for mine from Black Dragon.... Nice car you have there though. I'm debating weather to poke holes in my fender or just put the mirrors back where they belong. I may fabricate some bikermirrors
This is probably the coolest 280Z iv ever seen... has subtle look with great accents that dont stick out too much... like the fender Ducts those are cool. only thing is i dont like the front bumper, but this guy pulled it off really well!
@staircast yeah, he replaced the front bumper a few weeks ago. He's down in Texas right now for flight school but there will probably be more videos of him up soon. (he's my brother, sorry for no introduction, lol) but, he's also replaced the hella mirrors with jdm 240zg mirrors.
@staircast Yeah like he said, the car looks more classic now. Type 1 front end, 240Z front end conversion w/ bumper coming on next week, ZG fender mirrors
to each their own. I don't like the NSX-R spoilers people put on their NSXs, but it's their choice. I think the BRE lip is pretty tasteful and period correct.
You're probably thinking the BRE lip, because there's no "stock" spoiler on any S30. There were alot of random dealer add ons from wheels to spoilers, but there was no stock spoiler. The car came slick hatched.
@usafdarkhorse really didn't know that i always thought the spoiler was an option on them maybe because they look like a stock item to me learn something every day lol
haha! Can't believe i found this video! This is my brother's! In fact I drove that car today... having a bit of trouble with the cooling fan coming on... stupid MegaSquirt.
An S130 is a 280zx Right

I though the S30 was a 240z not a 280

@usafdarkhorse Actually there was a very limited run of Factory Option Spoilers for the early Z cars back in the early 70's

@thebluemaggot
Dealers added anything and everything. The S30 came with steel wheels and hubcaps from the factory.
