EVH is overrated. Stop while you can. Not being a genre whore or anything but he is not the best out there. Try some metal stuff like Metallica, or even Satriani if you want some good solos.

@xspidermanplayax Yes, the guitarist who blamed mouth cancer on metal picks is the best. But seriously, EVH is a rock guy, but he can't compose something complicated. I'm the One, the beginning sounds out of rhythm and the other bits are fast but most notes are harmonics which an idiot could do. Satch is more precise than that and can compose music because he knows theory. Satch taught Hammet so Hammet is incorporating Satch, not EVH, into his licks. Listen to Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing.
