MICHAEL WAS IN LOVE WITH DIANA ROSS!!! apparently she was probably his first deep love and it looked like his young boy puppy love crush for her grew into serious love. she looked like she tried her best to stick with him and love him until those overpowering feelings he had for her would dwindle away. as an adult woman and mentor she really cared for him and tried to maintain a tasteful older woman relationship without hurting his feelings. i think diana was a true friend to michael.

As crazy as this may sound, maybe Michael started dating white women because in a sorta way he got rejected by his one true love, Diana Ross a beautiful black woman. I guess she didn't like the idea of her innocent, naive son having his emotions toyed with by an older woman with a lot of experience. Diana might not have even realized the depth of love Mike had for her. Then, when the affair happened, it just blew his mind. He was "gone". I really don't think she meant to hurt him though. And he knew that. He still loved and respected her a great deal as a person, and vice-versa. Still, Mike always loved that woman. Till the day he died.

Diana more than likely turned Mike out and he thought it was something that it wasn't. For her, that is. I don't think she ever meant to hurt him. This is what I think happened here...Mike fell in love with her when he was a youngster. He admired her and she was his first sexual fantasy. She was what Fred Williamson was to me when I was a kid. She loved him too, sort of a mother/son thing. Now, when he got older and became the fine, sexy ass man that he became, she wanted some of that. So she got some. They had an affair. She realized he loved her and probably seriously considered a relationship but decided he was just too young for her.

Officialy he never said that this song is about Diana, but even Quincy Jones in one of his interview said that everybody in Michael's circle included him, thought that is about Diana Ross.

i do think however they did had some loving going on at some point. i wasn't there but i think she gave him his heart desires- some loving! michael never got over her though! such a pity she was older than him. pple would have thought it inappropriate for her to display sexual love for him in those days. i guess it was so hard for him.

MICHAEL WAS IN LOVE WITH DIANA ROSS!!! apparently she was probably his first deep love and it looked like his young boy puppy love crush for her grew into serious love. she looked like she tried her best to stick with him and love him until those overpowering feelings he had for her would dwindle away. as an adult woman and mentor she really cared for him and tried to maintain a tasteful older woman relationship without hurting his feelings. i think diana was a true friend to michael.

But when I look at their videos, she is always pushing up on Michael and always kissing him in the mouth in public. So what was he supposed to think other than she was so into him. I don't think she was a good friend to him at all, but just used him for the time being.

@makenart I think Mike would have been very happy with Diana, just such a shame that Diana didn't feel as strongly for Mike as he did for her, maybe it has to do with the 14 years age difference between them and maybe Diana didn't feel 100% comfortable in going public with Mike, especially since she's known him since he was a little boy.
People wouldn't have accepted their relationship and they would have bashed Diana to death, cause she was the more experienced and older one.

@mikeistheboss1 Exactly that's what I was saying, and that's actually what I've always thought to myself about these two.Back in those days it wasn't as easy to go public with a relationship where the woman was the elder to the man, cuz society wasn't as accepting of it, especially with a woman of a high profile such as Diana. Nowadays women do it openly with pride, and it's accepted as no big deal in society. So maybe this did play somewhat of a role of things not developing into more for them.

He was at the beginning of his superstardom career and had too much going on to be tied down by marriage. And her being older than him probably realized all of that and had to move on. As crazy as this may sound, maybe Michael started dating white women because in a sorta way he got rejected by his one true love, Diana Ross a beautiful black woman. A man ain't gonna look at woman the way Michael did unless he was feeling her as more than just friends. She probably made him feel so good about myself and really seemed like a fun person and not pretentious like every other women he met. And she helped him become famous so she was there right from the beginning.
