this video is amazing!! it helped so much for people not nessicerily new to motocross and not advanced... it good for if you in between trying to reach that goal!! great video..
I had the same problem, but as ouchmybrain7 says, you youst adjust it a bit higher, and do it before your going out riding again, i almost fucked up the axel because i would "hang" on it.
thats not a good idea every one gets mad at people who do that it leaves a rut at the top instead of a smooth rut. that rut at the top usually gets people hurt. if you keep consistant throttle and then give it more gas at the base it does the same thing that blipping does
I have a YZ 125 and everytime i go for a jump that is 3 gear or higher and i hit it my front tire always drops and i land front tire first.I always have to down shift to a higher rpm so my front end dosent drop...what am I doing wrong??
No, I am holding the gas wide open all the way up the lip...and i still nosedive...at the motocross track I ride on there is a long straitaway and there is a table top but I nosedive everytime I hit it...what do you think im doing wrong??
@yz125dirtrider Ok, I know I am really late to try and help you with this, but you need to be leaning back on the bike. I like to lean over the rear fender.
To pre load keep your front end up because if you don't the bike will wanna nose dive like he said keep your front end up and at the base of the jump push down on the suspension with your legs and when you leave the jump make sure your front end stays up.
@yz125dirtrider I have a 125 too and i do the same thing unless im in the power band, and im not saying to hit the jump faster and overjump it, just try to stay in a gear that you will be in the powerband when your going off the jump.
Theres also this jump on a track i ride that if i would keep the gas in my 2'nd gear i would flown past it. so i always let off just before i take off so it tips forward then i can go down that hill without flying to far. but thats just 1 jump. Am i doing right on that jump ?
What bike do you ride , 65cc and 85cc mostly don't always tip forward , Tap your rear break to Bring your front down when your in the air , and remember to not let off the gas going on the jump.
I ride a honda crf450r but i can't notice it tipping forwards i am standing nearly just as he says it. and to keep the throttle constant does he mean let it keep accelerating up the jump and not chopping it at the end or keep it on the same level to like keep "the same speed"?
constant accelaration. if your acclerating half throttle keep it that way dont punch it hard at the end. if you hitting a jump pinned dont chop the throttle back. the tip forward should only be so both wheels touch down at the same time or the back is only slightly earlier
Thanx for the scrub lesson.Your the only one on youtube that shows the steps to scrubing...All the other videos say "how to srub/whip" but when you watch it, its just guys showing off what they can do and theyre doing it wrong too.
Thunder- stay towards the front of the bike and put a lot of weight on the front tire.... keep on the gas and get your rear wheel to slide around the turn. Hard to explain. Search Gary Semics (sp?) videos. I believe he goes over this.
I ride a yamaha 250, and I need some pointers on turning. If anyone has any suggestions on how to turn on hard-packed dirt and doesn't have a bank. Thanks
unfortunately i have stopped riding and have started playing basketball , everything that i use to know in this sport i have forgot , and anyways i rode a ktm 85 sx , so i really wouldn't know much , sorry for not being a help at all
Thanks for the tips!

are you letting go of the throttle right before the edge of the jump?

@yz125dirtrider You are sitting too far back, your rear shock is sprining your rear up....

@yz125dirtrider hold it not quite wide open so that you have something extra to give at the lip to pick the nose up

try giving it more gas and maybe lean back before the jump

keep the gas on all the way up and try the pre load
fortunesofwar 3 years ago
try gas in air like the guy said in the vid. i have tried that on a little jump with my yzf250 and it really worked ;)
HEMPAtheDIRTRIDER 3 years ago
when in mid-air push down with your legs, this will let the back wheel get lower, fr a smoother landing
