  • man yust do andy james dvd!!!!!!!

  • Is there a Buckethead one? that'd be sick. Or Guthrie Govan :D

  • Ladies night in buffalo? beatiful song, one of the most expressive guitar solo's ive ever heard

  • Is Steve Vai the best guitarist in the world?

  • @2rude Steve Vai is a member of what's known as the "Guitar Illuminati". As a member of this secret circle, he has skills not available to us mortals. Other members include -

John Petrucci (Chairman of the Board aka Jesus)

Paul Gilbert (Executive zombie in charge of alternate picking)

    Joe Satriani (Wormhole Wizard)

Andy James (Chief Officer of Extreme Metal Faces)

Shawn Lane (High Order of Diminished Arpeggios)

Guthrie Govan (Chef in charge of the Erotic Cakes lick division)

    And many others.

  • sounds just like steve!

  • Mais uma pra eu estudar links mo0nster...

  • Is there anything this guy CAN'T do on the guitar! And btw what kind of guitar is he playing?

  • @prsfan2005 Doubt it, haha. I belive the guitar is an ESP LTD H-1001.

  • Andy James is THE guitar God.

  • Hey, may I ask why the Steve Vai DVD doesn't have a performance oh Tender Surrender?

  • This is really close, but I hear quite a few differences in between this video and the actual song. Still pretty good, but not spot on quite yet.

  • some sweet ltd's he has

  • so its all david lee roth stuff?

  • LickLibrary i can advice you to make the first Allan Holdsworth solos DVD.Alex Machacek maybe is advanced enough to do it and i think many people will be interested because i don't think there has been any educational material about what and how Holdsworth is making that crazy stuff.

  • :D I love how he says: The tapping section vas very difficult...took me about 2 days to finally nail it :D :D This guy is a fucking beast!!

  • I love the inlays on that guitar.

  • looks like nathan biggs

  • Whats your gear setup!!!!

  • dear freakin awsome andy fuckin jamse !

i just listen to your album and its the best metal i ever heard

so what i say is ...you can made one of how to play Sacerd Mother Tonge or andy jamse licks ?

    plss answer

and thumb up if you want it to !

  • Can anyone tell me the name of that guitar?

  • What guitar is that? Im thinkg its an esp/ltd

  • If this is intermediate to advanced for this guy, and one section he had to practice

for two days.... .... what is his stuff like?

  • @tiberiusgrunge jaw-dropping stuff... see for yourself: /watch?v=4PIiuQp_Fgc

  • 0:46 - 1:10

    I almost shit myself. Literally.

  • the british people are beast guitarists id love to see him and guthrie govan jam together

  • 0:04 awesome sounding slide!!!!

  • anybody know what gear hes using for his tone?

  • Do these lesson include tab?

  • @AzaelVI Hi there this DVD doesnt have TAB. Andy breaks down each part of the solo and shows you exactly how to play it note for note . Hope that helps.

  • @licklibrary just wanted to give you some respect for this awesome service :)

  • @Martyfriedman001 Thanks - hope your finding everything useful!

  • why can't you do "Learn to play buckethead"?

  • Super impressed here!!! Have you been contacted by Vai yet to tour with him as his second guitar player? If not, what a shame, because you have nailed his technique, sound, vibrato and feel down to such a degree, that I doubt someone could tell the difference. :-)

  • Andy is my favourite of all the Lick Library players, he's ace :D

  • Is this dvd just for creating the skills of also for learning how to build your own solo's like that? I got some decent skills, but I'm looking for a way to learn about scales.

  • @Mechavrore Hi there this DVD is purely aimed at showing you a series of quick licks in the style of Steve Vai, Andy breaks down each individual lick and then you can swap the licks about to make your own composition. If how ever as you are looking for learning different scales then i would point you in the direction of some of our other dvds. We will send you an email shortly with some links.

  • @licklibrary Could i have the links too? Thanks.

  • @KARVAKY Yep will email them over to you shortly.

  • @Mechavrore 1 word. Lydian.

  • @EstevanMusic That's wrong.

Vai does play more then just Lydian.

    He plays every mode.

Also if you think all the style is in the mode your a big failure.

  • @liamzuid I agree. He also adds 7th and other intervals in arpeggios.

  • They gotta be 8-9 gauge strings.

  • wat kind of guitar are you using in this video...i would really like to know

  • liked the solo at the end :)

  • screw that!

  • White power

  • whats the first song he played.???

  • damn man ur playing is identical to steves lol, especialy ur sweeps and tremelo use lol

  • Do a Buckethead one :D

  • Does anybody know about Harry K Cody? He uses similar equipment and techniques to Vai, and some of the stuff he plays is awesome.

  • this shit looks so hard

  • anyone have any idea what amp he is using to get this sound? It sounds so damn good.

  • @jrsm1000

Black star amp probably. I'm pretty sure he's, for a lack of a better term of, with them.

  • what's the point of the hairband

  • @ZDAWGGG It mutes the string so you won't get that much feedback from the strings you're not playing. It works very well for me when playing arpeggios, tapping, legato etc. with very high gain ;)

  • @ZDAWGGG `

    tack a look to the interview of Andy james in yoytube about her hairband unsing ( ;

  • fuck Steve Vai Andy should do a John Petrucci Instructional

  • this video did not load somehow

  • what was the first solo

  • @guitar00777 Ladies Night in Buffalo

  • Oh, come on Andy... we all know you kick some SERIOUS ASS. This is definitely for an advanced player but that of course is one of the things that makes Andy such a likable player. The guy has insane talent and yet is so humble... seems to be the mark of all great guitarists. Keep it up Andy all your stuff is AMAZING!

  • what guitar is he using?

  • @dmohr7 ESP LTD MH-1000 Deluxe

  • this sounds me like ur own personal style not like SV 's style

  • what amp or unit was andy playing through to get this sound ? :)

  • Have you noticed that Andy James always sounds better than the original solos he is teaching? It's like hearing Vai, Gilbert, Dimebag and others, only with better techinique. Like I said before, the first ones who should learn from Andy James are the actual authors of the solos he is teaching us.

  • @beginnergrow1 Ladies Night In Buffalo from the David Lee Roth Album Eat Em And Smile.

  • what guitar he uses ?

  • @luizpaludetto

    ESP LTD MH-1000 STBLK

  • hate this guy -_-

    He's too good.

Though we hate what we want and don't have.

  • lol when he said it took him FOREVER to comlete the tapping solo he meant 2days

  • am not sure if its just me, but it seems to be, this guy is great an everything, but 2 words - hair tie. After i learn ANYTHING whatsoever on guitar, the next step is to get it CLEAN!, especially with string skipping tapping u get the most background noise, why does no one care when he uses a hair tie in EVERY video? if he can play without one an is just using it for making sure the demonstration is 100 % accurate then fair enough, but still, this video is about playing like another CORRECTLY

  • @BloodRelic101 I'm one to hate on a hair tie as well (unless it's absolutely necessary) but you've got to stick yourself in his shoes for a bit. If he's got to play a solo, or even a section, full speed and straight through, while keeping it clear and visible for the viewer, that's a big challenge. You can go through take after take with a fine tooth comb and find one out of dozens that's perfect for presentation, or you can stick a scrunchie on your neck and give the viewer something clean.

  • any idea of the model of that guitar?

  • @wakoko92 yes, Its and ESP LTD MH-1000 black (with floyd rose)

  • @wakoko92

It is a ESP LTD MH-1000 in see thru black.

I am buying this guitar myself right now. I love it

  • what did he using amplifiers ?

  • This instructor is so damn good, he nailed Steves tone and everything. Great.

  • The 5 people that don't like this video are still stuck in the embrionic stage!

  • The hairband works like a dampener for the strings eliminating unwanted noise.

But the hair band doesn`t last long and you stretch it too much when you pull over.

I took a medical tention band and cut a nice strip. It`s even better and it lasts

    Try it out

  • great work man!!!!!!!!

  • These guys record like a million DVD a week.

  • which guitar is this ?

  • @ManosRK I think it's a LTD MH-1000. Probably the next guitar I'll buy.

  • Dude, what effect do you have on for the lead? its amazing! is it possibly a bit of chorus or something like that? lol

  • This guy is retarded good! Too bad I sold my Ibanez RG550 cripes I'll test them out on an old telecaster and struggle but it will be fun!

  • wonderful job do u have any dvd to sell?

  • @zenati7 Hi there - if you follow the link in the description for the video you can buy the DVD that this video was made from. Will send you an email with the link aswell. hope that helps

  • that was just awesome, im buying it, steve vai, is a tricky player, but andy covered it so well

  • Are these vai's solo from when he was in a band?

  • nice guitar :) i wouldn't trade my esp for the world

  • This dude nails it! Definitely NOT for beginners

  • What's the thing he ties around the neck at the top of the neck to dampen the strings? Awesome vid. Finally no more trolling Youtube to learn how to play Vai! :D

  • @klummster88 its a regular hairband! :)

  • @licklibrary tell andy james from me that he plays the big trouble solo better than vai!

  • @licklibrary why :P

  • and people say active emg's sound sterile? man this dude can get such a good range of tones. dead on vais tone

  • wow tight as fuck

  • @Saimenism

well thats a lame attitude xD

  • WOW. This dude nails it alright! I love this album!

  • ooops, gonna get the mop, i over drooled! ! ! ! !

  • wat kind of guitar is that??

  • @funny123ist its and Esp ltd mh-1000

  • sounds really really really great to me!

  • the first song, what is it named??

  • @LtdMusic Ladies Nite In Buffalo

  • @LtdMusic Ladies nite in Buffalo

  • man this guy is awesome .. damn ... you're one sick dude ... wish i could play like you

  • I hate the way he plays Vai with a Emg guitar...sounds god aweful.... even tho hes playing it right

  • What type of guitar is that?

  • i have a decent solid state 100 watt amp and a boss gt-3, how can i get this amazing tone!??

  • @peaveylove You cant..You need Delay, a good overdrive, good reverb and some great pickups. This is proffesional tones. Wich i cant afford xD

  • @peaveylove get a jemini distortion pedal...

  • you know, it's quite impressive that he can copy steve vai's work so perfectly, but I would like to see this kind of talent put to work in his own music, so somethin he came up wih himself

  • Oh, yes, of course you are right. But... so you will probably pay his bills? ;-)

    Cheers Thomas

  • @Oertijn he has some of his own stuff and he also plays in the band 'sacred mother tongue'

  • @Oertijn he has his own insane style

  • Does he EVER use his pinky?

  • yes, quite often even in this video

    *facepalm*

  • This sounds nothing like Vai IMO

  • @XxIskaxX Your opinion is wrong.

  • @XxIskaxX

these solos were written by steve

check out David Lee Roth's album "Eat 'em and smile"

  • this guy is fucking sick!!! he's nailed vai's tone, technique, style and tricks, wow!

  • What guitar is that?? ESP or LTD ???

  • its LTD

  • Comment removed

  • Every nuance is there, which is amazing cause Vai is such a peculiar player, very personal and authoral. I almost think this guy is "lip syncing" the solos... actually is so good that maybe Vai hilself should relearn his own solos with this video!!

  • Amazing !!!!

  • He plays Ladies night in buffalo better than the original solo by David lee roth sorry but its kind of true .. This is Steve Vai '' version

  • THis is guy is amazing! He can play perfectly all kinds of players with completely different styles. It's like actually listening to Stave Vai himself... same thing with Paul Gilbert, and many others...

  • WHAT!!? Steve Vai's solos are not to be LEARNED, they're to be FELT!.. In my humble opinion. You can go to my channel, and comment on how bad it sounds when I play Steve Vai

  • lets hope he does another vai solos dvd with windows of my soul and liberty or the audience is listening

  • this guy makes it look easy to play !!! haha so you buy the DVD, this stuff is really HARD to play!

  • this guy can impovise....

  • He has to say its for everyone Beg-Adv because they wana sell more DVD's in reality ANY andy james DVD is for the advanced player

  • This DVD is for 'Advance' only in my opinion.

  • intermediate? naw man...it fuckin aint

  • Think of it as a challenge for you to go to a new level of guitar playing by doing something thats extremely difficult for you to learn. If you cna play it,then you just got a whole lot better.Theres a positive out of eery situation mate haha.

  • dammit, i simply cannot find any bass tabs or video lessons for elephant gun, anyone know where i can find one?

  • ile never be able learn that :(

  • wait, hold on a second, did he consider this intermediate?

  • Steve Vaï's work on DLR's albums is amazing...."Ladie's night in Buffalo" !

  • Now that is a good tone...

  • Andy has done a few of these on Vai. He is an awesome player and teacher.

  • His playing style is a bit sloppy..

  • Are you having a laugh by any chance?

  • Where can i buy this dvd i really need it

  • You can buy it from Lick Library's site.
