LickLibrary i can advice you to make the first Allan Holdsworth solos DVD.Alex Machacek maybe is advanced enough to do it and i think many people will be interested because i don't think there has been any educational material about what and how Holdsworth is making that crazy stuff.
@AzaelVI Hi there this DVD doesnt have TAB. Andy breaks down each part of the solo and shows you exactly how to play it note for note . Hope that helps.
Super impressed here!!! Have you been contacted by Vai yet to tour with him as his second guitar player? If not, what a shame, because you have nailed his technique, sound, vibrato and feel down to such a degree, that I doubt someone could tell the difference. :-)
Is this dvd just for creating the skills of also for learning how to build your own solo's like that? I got some decent skills, but I'm looking for a way to learn about scales.
@Mechavrore Hi there this DVD is purely aimed at showing you a series of quick licks in the style of Steve Vai, Andy breaks down each individual lick and then you can swap the licks about to make your own composition. If how ever as you are looking for learning different scales then i would point you in the direction of some of our other dvds. We will send you an email shortly with some links.
@ZDAWGGG It mutes the string so you won't get that much feedback from the strings you're not playing. It works very well for me when playing arpeggios, tapping, legato etc. with very high gain ;)
Oh, come on Andy... we all know you kick some SERIOUS ASS. This is definitely for an advanced player but that of course is one of the things that makes Andy such a likable player. The guy has insane talent and yet is so humble... seems to be the mark of all great guitarists. Keep it up Andy all your stuff is AMAZING!
Have you noticed that Andy James always sounds better than the original solos he is teaching? It's like hearing Vai, Gilbert, Dimebag and others, only with better techinique. Like I said before, the first ones who should learn from Andy James are the actual authors of the solos he is teaching us.
am not sure if its just me, but it seems to be, this guy is great an everything, but 2 words - hair tie. After i learn ANYTHING whatsoever on guitar, the next step is to get it CLEAN!, especially with string skipping tapping u get the most background noise, why does no one care when he uses a hair tie in EVERY video? if he can play without one an is just using it for making sure the demonstration is 100 % accurate then fair enough, but still, this video is about playing like another CORRECTLY
@BloodRelic101 I'm one to hate on a hair tie as well (unless it's absolutely necessary) but you've got to stick yourself in his shoes for a bit. If he's got to play a solo, or even a section, full speed and straight through, while keeping it clear and visible for the viewer, that's a big challenge. You can go through take after take with a fine tooth comb and find one out of dozens that's perfect for presentation, or you can stick a scrunchie on your neck and give the viewer something clean.
@zenati7 Hi there - if you follow the link in the description for the video you can buy the DVD that this video was made from. Will send you an email with the link aswell. hope that helps
What's the thing he ties around the neck at the top of the neck to dampen the strings? Awesome vid. Finally no more trolling Youtube to learn how to play Vai! :D
you know, it's quite impressive that he can copy steve vai's work so perfectly, but I would like to see this kind of talent put to work in his own music, so somethin he came up wih himself
Every nuance is there, which is amazing cause Vai is such a peculiar player, very personal and authoral. I almost think this guy is "lip syncing" the solos... actually is so good that maybe Vai hilself should relearn his own solos with this video!!
THis is guy is amazing! He can play perfectly all kinds of players with completely different styles. It's like actually listening to Stave Vai himself... same thing with Paul Gilbert, and many others...
WHAT!!? Steve Vai's solos are not to be LEARNED, they're to be FELT!.. In my humble opinion. You can go to my channel, and comment on how bad it sounds when I play Steve Vai
Think of it as a challenge for you to go to a new level of guitar playing by doing something thats extremely difficult for you to learn. If you cna play it,then you just got a whole lot better.Theres a positive out of eery situation mate haha.

The hairband works like a dampener for the strings eliminating unwanted noise.
But the hair band doesn`t last long and you stretch it too much when you pull over.
I took a medical tention band and cut a nice strip. It`s even better and it lasts
Try it out
