  • I love how they sometimes call Dr.Bell "the doctor". But it is very deceiving for when they say that I think "wait, I haven't seen a single tardis or sonic screwdriver, what is Russell/Stephen doing!?" but then I realize I'm in a completely different series with no common actors.

  • As the saying goes" less is more" sometimes it's better to have a bit of a good thing instead of too much plus with making shorter series more time is invested in quality rather than quantity and it's easier to watch something like this again and again.

  • Great series..

  • Wonderfully atmospheric, harkens back to a time when a man's word was everything and gentlemen could be relied upon to be honourable, or they could be absolute scoundrels as well!! Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful series

  • Ian Richardson, just love the guy...Rest in peace Mr Richardson and thank you for the entertainment.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I watched this all in a day.

  • I thought I would be sad that BBC ended this, but they ended it in a tasteful and sincere manner. Doors opened were closed, plots were accounted for, and all due respect for the author, doctor, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle were payed in full. Amazing, truly so. I feel as if I stepped from the theater hall, after some once in a lifetime presentation.

I feel no regret, I feel closure and was entertained worth every non existent penny Youtube cost me.

Many thanks to those who uploaded the films!

  • @xyjamesw1488 nicely put:) though I think the majority of things that truly bring pleasure do not cost much or don't cost anything at all. The joy and happiness comes from our mind and soul and not out of our pocket.

It's so sad that such great series would be forgotten or lost and that was the main reason why I've uploaded them

  • You know what's really sad? I have just watched all five of these in one day. It is a shame that the BBC didn't make more episodes.

  • thanks for this..really great series.

  • I too watched all of five on two days ..great series thank you for posting.

  • @BILEGRANVIEIRACORR

I watched them all in five weeks. Intentionally so, I wanted to enjoy them to the fullest potential. I must say, it was well worth the time spent.

  • Mad the BBC didn't make more of this great series

  • Sargent...Sargent *whack* lol

  • @MDkid1 yeah he handled that well.

  • Ah! I can't believe I'm on the last epi so sad...too bad! :(

  • I did enjoy this and didn't even realise I'd missed it when it was on. However, I did find the characters one dimensional, the situations forced and various historical or Holmesian aspects seemed to be crowbarred in. I am ambivalent about it. I enjoyed it because of its content (being a Doyle fanboy) but I found the writing almost juvenile. I think it suffers in comparison to The Holmes canon. I am grateful for you taking the time to upload so I could watch, though. Thanks.

  • @jacksawild

I find that the episodes become less and less valuable with each airing. They became, more forced with each release.

  • splended! i watched all 5 in two days. just wished there would be more of them.

  • It's a shame, now more than ever may again, Ian is no longer among us.

  • I absolutely enjoyed watching the series a 2nd time!! Thx a lot

  • Where's episode 6?

  • @HorrorBuff99 there is none:( BBC discontinued the series, though it was popular, so sad

  • @FotoKadr I know it's rediculus, much as I love the BBC, how could they stop a great show like this and keep broadcasting programs like Strictly Come Dancing it's awful.

  • @hc4jd how right you are, stupid BBC
