9 people have never been held down and kissed by a lovely pibble. This brought tears to my eyes, it's beautiful. It reminds me how of a big goof my man is, he was abused and rescued, yet doesnt have a mean bone in his body. He loves all people (children the most) and loves all animals.
Today on our walk someone drove by giving him looks, but all he did was walk at me side like the good boy he is... I feel bad for the people who hate them, you are missing out.

I have been bitten by dogs only twice, both times were by pitbulls. One was by my brother's dog for trying to pick up a sleeping bag he was apparently guarding, the other was a pit tied in front of a grocery store as I was unlocking my bike. Pits killed my chickens and my grampa's dog.

These dogs have had my heart for years. This video really touched me as I have two wonderful Pit Bull Terriers and would not give them up for anything. They love all people, kids and life. My Solomon reminds me of Petey.

@RoscoTheRat He was dually registered as a Staffie and a Pit. Today if you want to do that you must first register with AKC (Staffi) as they will not allow Pit Bulls to be dually registered as Staffs. You have to UKC them second(or so I've read)

@RoscoTheRat Welcome to BSL. In Lake County Indiana the BSL describes "pit bull type" dogs. So officer friendly can be reporting a dog bite look at a dog and say "that's a pitbull" when the dog is more likely a lab mix. My dogs are both pitty mixes but considered pitbulls.
@superflychy American Pitbull Terrier people are not happy with the term at all. They have legimatley papered dogs and like them to be called APBTs. Am Staff breeders do not want they're dogs called pitbulls either. It's a slippery slope when one umbrella covers all these dogs and trys to lump them in as one breed.

If you are too dumb to do your research you probably don't deserve one anyway. these dogs will do damage to other animals , no social training will completely get rid of it, it will run out in the street and snap a poodle's neck in a second, and come back and lick your face , like its done nothing wrong, they need to be handled correctly , dont buy the socialized dog training bull. They are great loyal pets, but please never let them run loose. Nature will win , and these dogs have a natural instinct to fight , like a pointer ,points birds.

Thanks to the OP - I have owned a number of bully dogs. Just got a puppy two weeks ago: American Staffordshire X French Bulldog(sire) X Boston Terrier(bitch). Really cool, nice brown brindle with white markings, light blue eyes!

The dog got a bad rep due to those owners that trained it to be violent. No dog is naturally violent unless taught or abused. However instead of outlawing the breed why don't owners adopt a specific treatment of the breed to remove it's fangs. Then it's 4 jaw teeth. The dog can still chew but loses it threat to humans and it's cheap.

I had the benefit of knowing 2 very precious pit bulls in 1984 when I was first introduced to the breed before any of the bad publicity was out about these dogs. The first was named Luger (a red-nose 75 lb pit - he was big). He was a big baby. I stayed with the people in their house that had these dogs. Luger slept with me every night. Margaret was a little 50 lb pit who was abused but became eager to please her new family. I miss these dogs. I know own a boxer/lab/pit mix who is a dear.

I manage a rescue group, and the most loving, responsive, and well behaved dogs we get in to the program are the pitbulls. Our program is run out of an animal hospital, so I am in contact with owned and rescue dogs. I would take a pitbull over a min pin or cocker spaniel ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!
If it wasn't for the friggin' thugs and gang members who are the lowest forms of life, then the pit bull would not have the reputation it has today. But when you get scumbags like that who don't care about the dog except for the money it brings them, then this is what happens. We just brought home an 8 week old Silver Blue American Pitbull Terrier. Our son named him "Abrams" , after the Abrams M1 Tank.... We will raise "Abrams" to be as gentle and loving as "Petey Pup" It is not the breed who is violent, but the humans who instill the violence in them. Those humans should be legislated to do some serious prison time, not the dog.
Pit bull an amazing loyal dog breed! My family attacted by a pack of dogs none of them pit bulls - they attacked me and my children - Our Pit Bull Anna put herself between the dogs and us and fought to keep them away from us. I truly believe if it wasn’t for Anna it could have been allot worse. A few sttches for all. Dogs are like people every once and awhile you get one with a loose screw (IN ALL BREEDS). But it is human nature to condemn the whole breed for the loose screws of a few.

"Pal the Wonder Dog," (sired by Earl Tudor's "Black Jack") was the original Pete the pup. Pal procured many screen credits in feature films and also starred as “Tige” in the “Buster Brown” comedy series. When Pal died, Lucenay who was breeding a "Pete" line trained one of Pal's son's "Lucenay's Peter" to take his father's place in show business. When Lucenay was fired from “Our Gang” in 1932 Lucenay retired “Peter.” All the subsequent Pete's after "Peter" are from a different bloodline.
Lucenay was a young boy when Pete was alive. When the pair would go for walks, people would stop Lucenay and Pete, so they could have their picture taken with the dog. "He was a gentle, playful and warm dog," Lucenay said. "He would sleep at the foot of my bed. He was just the regular family dog. I really miss him." It saddens me to recognize that America does not love the APBT as it once did. How we shifted from the witty antics of “Our Gang” to Breed Specific Legislation is beyond me.

I'm glad this video is out for everyone to see. My blue pit, Molly, is the sweetest little thing that wouldn't hurt a soul. I hate how people gasp and ask me if I'm worried about having her around my 4 month old daughter. It's not this big babies people need to worry about, it's those small moody dogs that are even said to not be good with children. My mother's maltese tried to bite my baby girl, my pit never did.
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. My dad came across this video while looking at my own videos. He came up to be today and said "I now remember what Pit Bulls are! I remember when I was a boy EVERYONE had one and they were the best dogs ever. I can't believe that Pit Bulls are looked at the way they are not" the whole time petting my Pit Bull. So Thank you! Another one understands.
The video is awesome!!!! Have grown up with pit bulls all my life and have an 8 year old female and a 4 year old male.. my kids are around them since babies!! 9 people have never been held down and kissed by a lovely pibble. This brought tears to my eyes, it's beautiful. It reminds me how of a big goof my man is, he was abused and rescued, yet doesnt have a mean bone in his body. He loves all people (children the most) and loves all animals.
Today on our walk someone drove by giving him looks, but all he did was walk at me side like the good boy he is... I feel bad for the people who hate them, you are missing out.

I have been bitten by dogs only twice, both times were by pitbulls. One was by my brother's dog for trying to pick up a sleeping bag he was apparently guarding, the other was a pit tied in front of a grocery store as I was unlocking my bike. Pits killed my chickens and my grampa's dog.

@RoscoTheRat Welcome to BSL. In Lake County Indiana the BSL describes "pit bull type" dogs. So officer friendly can be reporting a dog bite look at a dog and say "that's a pitbull" when the dog is more likely a lab mix. My dogs are both pitty mixes but considered pitbulls.

these dogs will do damage to other animals , no social training will completely get rid of it, it will run out in the street and snap a poodle's neck in a second, and come back and lick your face , like its done nothing wrong, they need to be handled correctly , dont buy the socialized dog training bull. The dog got a bad rep due to those owners that trained it to be violent. No dog is naturally violent unless taught or abused. However instead of outlawing the breed why don't owners adopt a specific treatment of the breed to remove it's fangs. Then it's 4 jaw teeth. The dog can still chew but loses it threat to humans and it's cheap.

I had the benefit of knowing 2 very precious pit bulls in 1984 when I was first introduced to the breed before any of the bad publicity was out about these dogs. The first was named Luger (a red-nose 75 lb pit - he was big). He was a big baby. I stayed with the people in their house that had these dogs. Luger slept with me every night. Margaret was a little 50 lb pit who was abused but became eager to please her new family. I miss these dogs. I know own a boxer/lab/pit mix who is a dear.

And thank you for also pointing out that, yes, Petey from The Little Rascals WAS an American Pit Bull Terrier. A lot of people do not know this. The Pit Bull was originally bred to be work dogs in construction pits, then became nanny dogs in the early 1900s. And know look at what man has done to this dog.

Thank you lovedanes22 for posting this beautiful video. It made me cry. And thank you for giving the American Pit Bull Terrier it's due respect. And thank you for also pointing out that, yes, Petey from The Little Rascals WAS an American Pit Bull Terrier. A lot of people do not know this. The Pit Bull was originally bred to be work dogs in construction pits, then became nanny dogs in the early 1900s. And know look at what man has done to this dog.

I manage a rescue group, and the most loving, responsive, and well behaved dogs we get in to the program are the pitbulls. Our program is run out of an animal hospital, so I am in contact with owned and rescue dogs. I would take a pitbull over a min pin or cocker spaniel ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!

If it wasn't for the friggin' thugs and gang members who are the lowest forms of life, then the pit bull would not have the reputation it has today. But when you get scumbags like that who don't care about the dog except for the money it brings them, then this is what happens. I'd love to put all of them in a room with the same dogs that they bred for violence, and let those dogs rip them to shreds. Now THAT would be justice.............

We just brought home an 8 week old Silver Blue American Pitbull Terrier. Our son named him "Abrams" , after the Abrams M1 Tank.... We will raise "Abrams" to be as gentle and loving as "Petey Pup" It is not the breed who is violent, but the humans who instill the violence in them. Those humans should be legislated to do some serious prison time, not the dog.

Pit bull an amazing loyal dog breed! My family attacted by a pack of dogs none of them pit bulls - they attacked me and my children - Our Pit Bull Anna put herself between the dogs and us and fought to keep them away from us. I truly believe if it wasn’t for Anna it could have been allot worse. A few sttches for all. Dogs are like people every once and awhile you get one with a loose screw (IN ALL BREEDS). But it is human nature to condemn the whole breed for the loose screws of a few.

"Pal the Wonder Dog," (sired by Earl Tudor's "Black Jack") was the original Pete the pup. Pal procured many screen credits in feature films and also starred as “Tige” in the “Buster Brown” comedy series. When Pal died, Lucenay who was breeding a "Pete" line trained one of Pal's son's "Lucenay's Peter" to take his father's place in show business. When Lucenay was fired from “Our Gang” in 1932 Lucenay retired “Peter.” All the subsequent Pete's after "Peter" are from a different bloodline.

Lucenay was a young boy when Pete was alive. When the pair would go for walks, people would stop Lucenay and Pete, so they could have their picture taken with the dog. "He was a gentle, playful and warm dog," Lucenay said. "He would sleep at the foot of my bed. He was just the regular family dog. I really miss him." It saddens me to recognize that America does not love the APBT as it once did. How we shifted from the witty antics of “Our Gang” to Breed Specific Legislation is beyond me.

There are three pit bull breeds who share the same bulldog/terrier ancestry: The American Pit Bull Terrier, The American Staffordshire Terrier, and The Staffordshire Bull Terrier. These three pure bred and now totally distinct breeds are the popular targets for BSL because these were the original pit bull dogs or “bulldogs” as fancier’s called them.

Most people don't realize that there are now about a dozen breeds lumped into the "pit bull type" dog category and when bite statistics--fatal or non-fatal--are tallied the "pit bull type" dog is compared to individual breeds for comparison. Not a fair contrast by any means.

I'm glad this video is out for everyone to see. My blue pit, Molly, is the sweetest little thing that wouldn't hurt a soul. I hate how people gasp and ask me if I'm worried about having her around my 4 month old daughter. It's not this big babies people need to worry about, it's those small moody dogs that are even said to not be good with children. My mother's maltese tried to bite my baby girl, my pit never did.

I remember when I was a boy EVERYONE had one and they were the best dogs ever. I can't believe that Pit Bulls are looked at the way they are not" the whole time petting my Pit Bull. So Thank you! The video is awesome!!!! Have grown up with pit bulls all my life and have an 8 year old female and a 4 year old male.. my kids are around them since babies!! It is the owners who make any dog bad... with love, care and proper training they are the most lovable, loyal, and intelligent dogs you could meet. love this video!!! Thanks
