  • pshh... my honda would crank right up!

  • haha but you have too remember fords are pathetic for cold wether without there glow plugs

  • @walkingfreak I think it's a common problem when the average temperature hovers around -20 degrees for a couple days and you don't run anti-gel. I look at it as a lession learned and nothing more.

  • @dscb81 Yeah true but its nothing like a cummin's where all they use a grid heater and no glow plugs and have a hell of a hard time starting

  • @walkingfreak anything is pathetic at starting w/out plugs at below zero cold starts

  • my dadfs ford f250 super duty 7.3 strted -31 with out block heater

  • How well does the anti gel stuff work? Also, what is the coldest it gets down to before a block heater is pretty much required to start a diesel vehicle?

  • @Vorash2002 I have not had a problem since I started using the anti-gel. If I remember correctly, for the 6.4L Ford say's anywhere from -20 to -25 degrees.

  • what kind of truck is this

  • '08 F250

  • Do you have that rapid heat accessory, if so, how quick does it warm up?

  • Yes and its takes anywhere from 3-5 minutes to heat the truck.

  • I use the anti-gel stuff that I purchase from the local Ford dealer. Works great and it improved my mpg.

  • dscb81 what kinda anti gel should I use? I have a whole box of Isoheet already . I stocked up on it before it gets scarce .

  • sweet truck man post more vids!!!!

  • Hey, Just wanted to know what sound was when you started it cold. It fired up then made that VRRRRRR noise at the end. My volvo starts like that in the cold and i dont know why... -22 Celcius +

  • Honestly I have no idea of what the noise is. It only makes it when it extremely cold out.

  • Don't Worry, Its Completly Normal. The power steering fluid becomes very thick and so the P.S. Pump has to work like tripple overtime to move the fluid. It like fades away after a certin ammount of time.

  • I Think

  • you are right irobertsproductions, my van did that when it's cold outside at -26C, close to -15F, after 2 to 3 minutes of warm up time, the whining noise will go away, :)

  • thats likely your power steering rack as the fluid has gelled up, my old car had the same problem, you might wanbna check the seals on the bottom of the rack for leaks.

  • Nice truck!! What year? Give us some info on it. Put some into the description that would be nice!! :) Looks like a lariat?

  • '08 crewcab superduty lariat. Only mods I have are AFE Stage II and 8k H.i.d.'s

  • That is a sweet truck! NICE

  • Thanks!
