  • when you build a reccording sound, do you use exactly the same live?..

  • Great video! What a killer rig. I just had a question on the preset changes on this unit. Are the preset changes, say from a clean sound with chorus and reverb to a high gain sound with delay? Instantaneous, or is there a delay in the loading time from one preset to another? The reason why I ask is that I bought an Eventide Eclipse before the Axe Fx came out, and I was VERY upset that there was about a 1 second load time between presets, which renders it useless live.

  • @entr0py1 the preset changes are very close to seamless and you shouldn't notice. It is nothing like the incredible load times on an Eventide unit.

I did a Hotel Cali solo demo where I changed 6 or 7 presets and you can't tell. I had to post on Vimeo because YT didn't allow me to post an Eagles backing track. My Vimeo username is Mark Day.

  • Mark. I have a Ground Control Pro and G-Major 2 and I was wondering how can I connect it. I know it a very stupid question.

  • Hey he used some video copilot stuff at the beginning, nice!

  • please stop raping your tremolo when you play such lovely clean sounds. PLEEAASSEE!!!!

When you started that Eminor Clean-Chorus-lovely-delay sound i was like:

    "wooooow..beatiful..."

    WHen u raped your tremolo:

    "Oh no...not again..please..PLEASE"

You do it ALL the time when playing clean sounds..

    Love your videos anyway ^^

  • soooo much gain.....sound like metal man.

  • Crap, that SUHR guitar sounds incredible. The axe-fx too, but man, oh and your playing too, and, well, damn. lol The voodoo lab is what I am looking into as well for a ground controller. What do you suggest for expression pedals? Looks like Morley stuff you have there.

    Thanks again

    Al

  • @allanjenny

Have you receive an answer for your question about the expression pedals Mark's using? It seems to be Ernie Ball pedals...

  • damn I forgot to add one of those tees to my order... just ordered a Modern but have to wait 6 months :( :(

  • Hi Mark, very insightful videos. Do you use the Axe-Edit software on your MacBook Pro to edit patches on the Axe-FX? It would be very useful to see a video of you giving a demo if possible?

  • hi mark. Are those regular ernie ball volume pedals? I have exactly the same equipment minus one e. ball vol pedal. ANd do you use the gcx?

  • @tunctuncer

    Have you received an answer?

  • Oh my god I am so exited to be getting one of these :D:D:D

  • Thank you Sir.

  • Do I hear the OD 100 in this video?

  • It's the CAE LD model in the AxeFx :)

    Mark

  • Great job as always Mark!

  • abit of chorus or delay on a rhythm tone can really fatten things up... alot of people don't realize just how 'wet' things are that they're hearing on many(most) CDs, etc.

  • you get the most amazing sound out of this unit out of anyone else I have ever heard man, awesomw work. cheers

  • Mark. I'm looking at getting a Ground Control Pro for my soon to be Axe-Fx. I've read on the forums that it's not possible to get the axe tuner to display on the GCP. Is this true? If so, how do you get around it? If it is not true, how do you set the GCP to display the tuner as it would seem by the forum talk that it's at least less than intuitive.

  • The GCP will NOT display the tuner. I can turn the tuner ON with the GCP and I can see it plainly from the front of the stage (the AxeFx rack sits on top of my cabs at the back of the stage)

Fractal will have it's own controller with the tuner display. Liquid Foot can also display the tuner.

  • Thank you, sir. Helpful as always.

  • love the wah at the end. :)

  • God i love that tone at 7:01 - 7:10

  • Mark. Your vids are awesome and have put me on the road to saving up for an axe-fx ultra. Your tone is awesome, your watch sounds fantastic and you get kookier every video. In the hippie phrasing... "thank you for sharing your axe journey".

  • his name is mark,

  • Your videos are awesome.....ballsy playing and tone. Just one request...

Would you please make the talk as loud as the guitar? It's a pain to have to crank the volume to hear you speak and then have WW III occur when you play. and to quickly lower the volume :)

  • I'm working on that :) I think I need a better mic for my talking rather than the camera mic. I boost it and all but it just doesn't seem enough and it's pretty noisy as well.

  • I lol'd at the watch through the Axe!!

Seriously, amazing tone. I've already known that an Axe-Fx Ultra was in my future, your videos may have accelerated that process. Your videos already made me order an Edirol R-09 HR today... haha

  • How easy is it to use, is the interface and whatnot fairly simple? Also, how well does it work when recording direct with a mac (I have a macbook pro)? Also, what interface and recording software would you recommend? Lastly, could you possibly do a demo video of the Mesa amp sims for me if you get a chance? Thanks.

  • I am also using a MacBook Pro, I use a Digi 003 and ProTools. I think if I had to do it again I would go with Logic and an Apogee interface.

The AxeFx is easy to use and the interface is awesome. The software editor is great to :)

    Mark

  • Jesus!! Your patches are insane, Mark. That wah one is pretty sick. Sounds as good as my dunlop rack wah. In a few months I'll be getting the Ultra, so I have a quick few questions for you:

  • amazing tone man! what software editing tool are you using to synch the audio and video? thanks

  • ProTools :)

    Mark

  • you really like that axe fx eh? :P
