Not just the engine for the power, but also the weight of a car, the contact patch of the tires, and the drivetrain (FWD, RWD, AWD) and transmission, as gearing also plays a role.
Doesn't matter if one car has 400HP and weighs 6000 lbs, if another car has 200 hp and only weighs 2500lbs, there's a good chance the 200hp car can win, since the 400hp car has to move 2 tons in weight MORE than the 200 hp car.
Raced an SER with my I/H/E 8th gen Si, I lost about a few car lengths up to 200km, I thought the SER could do much better especially when it was not stock either.

That simply gave it the edge over a muscle car in my view, not to mention the fact that I drove muscle for years prior, and I actually tend to prefer lighter sports cars, with "zippiness", as opposed to brute power.

Fact is, the Nissan V6 is 260 HP for 3.5 liters. That's 73 horsepower per liter.
Whereas, the Honda has 210 horsepower for 2 liters. That makes 105 horsepower for liter.
If the Honda maintained it's power to volume ratio and had 3.5 liters, it's theoretical power is 367.5 horsepower.
My respect for Honda goes out to their ability to push the small motors and create efficient yet powerful designs.
I have no bias towards either company, but Honda could kick Nissan's ass easily if they wanted.

@XnEminemXn with equal drivers a stock RSX wont get a v6 altima. from a dig the v6 will dominate in a drag race due to the more usuable torque. from a roll the altima would win too since its just putting more power down. you MIGHT be able to take someone in autoX with suspension mods but thats about it

not very impressive considering this is a random car that you cant give any spec's for. if it was a k20 stage 2 turbo then you can talk. but honestly even then its a joke since you have a 3.5 against a 2.0, not to mention the fact that you have an evo2 exhaust and an intake. @lairbusl first off, yes a vq will beat a k20 if its boosted. no one is denying that. the vq is in a league of its own. second, for the money you spend on a se-r, you could get an evo, sti, or madza 6speed. all of these cars would be alot better then the altima.

The leaf is for people that know gas is going to get more expensive (wait till gas gets to $10 per gal; you wont think the Leaf suck then) . @Kooly1 I almost went for a LS2 GTO when I bought my first car two years ago, but what I really liked about the Altima SE-R was the way it came modded from the factory, with rims, HID's, a great sound system, custom leather, you name it. That simply gave it the edge over a muscle car in my view, not to mention the fact that I drove muscle for years prior, and I actually tend to prefer lighter sports cars, with "zippiness", as opposed to brute power.

P.S. my old car was a 2003 acura cl type s 6mt (comptech headers, AEM intake, throttle body spacer, UR pulleys and too much more to list.) So the only way for you to beat a SE-R is if you had a turbo. POWER TO THE VQ35DE. :)
