@ThatMacShow So, I followed the directions of this video and for some reason GarageBand won't pick up the new audio channel. Any tips? Am I doing something wrong? Someone told me I need a USB mixer, but this video and several other sources say otherwise.
Please, for the love of god, where is the Part II ? I have the same mixer and a Macbook Pro, but I don`t know how to set up the audio settings to record my acoustic guitar. Please....
So you can hook up the mixer to a computer using only RCA cables? I ask because I noticed the Behringer mixers aren't USB powered. Second question, how would you hook up monitor speakers to the mixer? Thanks for the video, btw.
hey bro if i buy this would it wok with m-audio fast track with 48v it has the usb connector and the 48v switcher and the two outputs its a red and a white one...how would i use this to connect the mixer and protools together????..please comment back!!!
i have a question those red and white cables cant you just get the the rca cables and plug them in to the red and white inputs what is smaller and those red and white inputs are they line 1 and line 2 inputs or are they line in and line out plz relpy asap
@bluedog916 You can get RCA to 3.5mm which does work fine but going from the Mixer to Laptop but I would recommend using Quarter inch to 3.5mm since You can control Levels
Another question, when i record instruments and vocals, for some reason every sound playing internally ( via the mac) is recorded, this includes the metronome. evn though i turn down the master volume.
Do you need to register the mixer to the mac or anything like that? please please do a tutorial on how to do that if you do. i'm new to mac and i ain't got a clue how you do this stuff.
Actually you'd only really NEED one of the two 1/8" to 1/4" cables. If you're using it for podcasting you'd only need the 'in' to your Mac. And if you're a DJ or similar and play audio from the computer to the mixer then you'd only need to plug it in the 'out' of the computer to the 'in' of the mixer.
@ansonx10 you don't really need any of it actually, if you were DJing of your mac, then you would have the appropriate software, that would incorporate the built in mic.
Wait, what's the deal with the line in from the macbook? If it's for monitoring then you can just have a headphone monitor plugged into the mixer, if it's for sound effects you can add all that in post production.
1 question m8... the red/white cables u got that change into a minijack, they're already jack-ended so u can plug them into your mixer... ive got red/white cables that dont have jack ends .. do i need mono or stereo jacks? coz i can see u got mono's
thanks for the tutorial very helpful but next time try using the correct terms that would make it ooooooo so much better RCA to line in those kinda stuff... again thanks for the tutorial.....
Everything in this video is correct but you want to use a XLR microphone cord, not 1/4 inch (or 1/8 inch as he says)

Where do you conect your speakers?
leonxsiempre1 7 months ago
@leonxsiempre1 Usually The Main Out will be used for Speakers, while Tape Out for Recording.

@NathanSynth Just connect it to the Tape Out and Tape in but note that the Tape In Does Not have a Level.

I have a question.
Can you use the RCA out to 1/8 to record from your mixer to your computer. I would believe so yeah?
The whole sending it in would be so you can use sound effect or music on your computer and still have your mic during a podcast?
Or am I entirely wrong? I've only ever use mixers live so recording is a whole new world for me.
mikenter 10 months ago
@mikenter Yes so taking the headphone out from your Computer will be referred to as Line-In & Yes it does exactly that.
The Aux Sends & Returns if you want to add a FX Processor like Flanger, Compressor, Exciter etc.

Hi... is there any way of connecting it to the usb port on my mac book?
TomCanBreathInSpace 2 years ago
You can get a USB audio interface such as the Griffin iMic.
Also some more expensive mixing boards have a USB output, but that's on a more professional level.
