  • @winstonchurchill95 keep the anthem as it is :D have land of hope and glory if we become an Republic (which i am drastically against)

  • England for the English!

  • Love how a patriotic song about fighting muslims for the holy land has a muslims dating agency advert next to it :p

  • @EpicDildoMaster69 It isn't a hymn about fighting Muslims. It was written as a short poem by William Blake in 1808. It was based around the legend that Jesus visited England and was meant to show how, whereas Jesus would have made England a pure and beautiful nation, the Industrial Revolution was destroying everything and polluting and ruining it. Blake is trying to evoke the legend of Jesus' visit to England to say that we must make England like the heaven on earth, the eternal Jerusalem

  • @thebigJM92 Thanks for that explanation

  • @thebigJM92 ahhh I see now, my mistake, thank you

  • @EpicDildoMaster69 Still quite ironic that it had a Muslim dating agency advert next to it! It was a fair point!

  • @EpicDildoMaster69 it's not about fighting anyone. Educate yourself.

  • @surfingbananas I recently did and admitted my mistake sir

  • @EpicDildoMaster69 Aha sorry mate, my mistake. :)

  • @surfingbananas No problems mate, anyones mistake haha

  • @winstonchurchill95

You will hear politicians say that we must celebrate our diversity. Diversity meaning to be diverse. Yet they are trying to integrate us into a single state. Think about that one.

  • God bless William Blake - a truely great Englishman.

  • I think this version is a wee bit fast, but that's just my opinion

  • @winstonchurchill95 I agree. Believe what you want. But when you resort to violence then we have a problem. Church bombing in Nigera, violence genocide and slavery in Sudan, genocide in Egypt, Iraq, and other numerous places. The track record of Islam is not good.

  • Beautiful anthem but it's too bad it was based on a religious shit. And was the holy lamb of god on England's pleasant pastures right?!

  • @mralanv Absolutely friend. Jesus Christ walked on the ground of the eternal motherland - GREATEST BRITAIN! Believe it friend just as you believe 2pm follows 1pm.

  • I had this as an hymn at my wedding. The whole church bellowing it out.

It fucking rocked, what can I say! :0)

  • I'm half Irish and Half English, I despise God Save The Queen with a passion and will never sing it, I have no affection for the Monarchy. However if this was the anthem I would happily stand in my local Sinn Fein club chest swelled and sing with gusto

  • @jwood36 Half English, but Sinn Fein? You are one confused person.

  • @Islamisbad1 And you are an idiot, just because there is a Sinn Fein club near me doesn't mean I agree with them.

    LEARN TO FUCKING READ

  • @jwood36 If I could be arsed, to go back and read everything I have written, I may have replied, but sadly,to much time has passed., If I offended you, I am sorry, but if I see, Sinn Fein, I get pissed off. I must have misread what you wrote, again, sorry,

  • @Islamisbad1 Apology accepted mate and fair play to you. I must've not made my point very well, I am very proud of my Irish roots so much so that I've lived here 20 years. But I will no way endorse Sinn Fein or the Provos. By the same token I won't endorse the Monarchy and that's why I refuse to sing GSTQ. I would proudly sing Jerusalem if it was to be made the English National Anthem

  • If any Englishman does doubt his patriotism please just listen to this!!!!!

  • @J2theP01 the only people that still listens and sings that is the old generation. Today's young brits don't give a rat's ass about anything. I am not even british.

  • @mralanv FUCK YOU

  • lool i am a lonely girl from the uk

  • Jerusalem for England, God Save The Queen for Britain!

  • @GrrrIamMad When Blake wrote Jerusalem, England meant Britain.

  • For all the people who are proposing this as the British anthem: if you listen to it with the context of current times Britain in mind, it sounds more like a requiem than an anthem, conveying an image of twilight rather than optimistic hope. On second thought, perhaps it's not so inappropriate.

  • @winstonchurchill95 What you speak is true, and though i´m swedish and no brit I have great respect for your country!

  • " And was Al-Quds builded here..."

  • SHALOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • this was also the anthem for the first WW. god rest those who died

  • also i am from uk

  • Ahhhhhhhh my ears are bleeding because of this garbage

  • Jerusalem should be sung at England's sporting events.

I Vow To Thee My Country should be England's National Anthem.

God Save the Queen should still be United Kingdom's National Anthem.

  • @winstonchurchill95 god damn u nail it on the head well done dear chap ;) HAZZZZZA

  • Rule Brittania

  • @winstonchurchill95 =total agreement !! love the hym, was sung in my school in cwm south wales and still remember every word. united we stand ! INGLAND SCOTLAND WALES .

  • Why this isn't our National Anthem remains a mystery to me!

  • Peace to all if I may ask what are the words to this song?

  • @Khandie5 And did those feet in ancient time

    Walk upon England's mountain green?

And was the holy Lamb of God

    On England's pleasant pastures seen?

    And did the countenance divine

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

    And was Jerusalem builded here

    Among those dark satanic mills?

  • Bring me my bow of burning gold!

Bring me my arrows of desire!

Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!

Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,

Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,

    Till we have built Jerusalem

In England's green and pleasant land.

  • Hear a new song of unity for the land of Israel...Hundreds of young Americans singing and standing with Israel...go to.."We Will Stand With You Israel" on utube

  • @winstonchurchill95 Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • I am pro Brit, but as a historian, I am well aware of what the British government did to the real city of Jerusalem in 1948. It is too complicated to be told here, but suffice it to say that the deliberate division of the city and the frustration of every attempt to keep it out of the war is to Britain's ever-lasting shame. I saw the Mandelbaum Gate, the barbed wire, and the concrete barriers.

Yes, it's just a tune, but it's not called "London," is it? Perhaps it should be renamed.

  • @scottadler Perhaps as a historian you would know that the poem was written over a hundred years before Britain was even mandated Palestine and the troubles that went with it, and the song is not talking about the earthly Jerusalem (which had been ruled by Muslims for 1200 years when the poem was written anyway). You might also know that Britain was stuck between a Jewish rock and a Muslim hard-place when it came to Jerusalem and it is unlikely any country could have achieved peace there in 1948

  • @thebigJM92 Excuse my French, but bullshit. The Mandatory could have allowed the UN's representatives to do their job, to create a corpus separatum, but locked them up. The British government did everything it could to collaborate with the Arab siege of the city in 1948, including maintaining a stupid pretense that the roads were open. And it was British officers, under a Transjordanian false flag, who dynamited the Jewish Quarter. The full story of British duplicity has yet to be written.

  • @scottadler And you think the UN's representatives would have been allowed to do their job by the fanatics on both sides? The UN has an awfully good track record doesn't it? Oh wait... no. And the mandate was set up under the League of Nations which was an even bigger failure than the UN. You are clearly a sympathiser on the Jewish side, yet the Palestinians accuse Britain of supporting the Jews, confiscating everything from them but allowing the Jews to live in military style communities etc

  • @scottadler The simple fact is both sides blame Britain for supporting the other. Britain was an exhausted and exasperated nation that was heavily in debt, whose people were war weary and whose soldiers in Palestine were largely ordinary people discontented that they were STILL having to live in a war zone despite the end of the biggest war in history. It didn't want or need the problem and quite frankly it didn't know what to do. USA breathing down its neck etc.

  • @scottadler The simple fact is that Britain didn't know what to do. No-one else would have done any better in a similar position (other than unfairly come down on one side). All the neighbouring Muslim states were hostile to the Jews and were ready to squash any small and weak Israeli state that was established (meaning Israel if it was to exist at all would have to be big). Meanwhile the USA was breathing down Britain's neck to support the Jews for purely selfish reasons.

  • @thebigJM92 First, the British soldiers in israel in 1947-48 were not war-time draftees. I happen to know one, who lives not far away from me, an 18 year old RAF enlisted man who worked in a radar station searching the seas for approaching refugee ships. Under the San Remo Conference rules (and the subsequent Anglo American treaty, preventing Jewish immigration was a material violation of the mandate, aside from being unspeakably cruel to traumatized Holocaust survivors...

  • @scottadler British troops, far from being willing terrorists and duplicitous villains were tired, discontented ordinary people complaining that they were still in the army despite the Second World War being over (that being what they were forcibly drafted for). Britain itself had enough worries on its plate and didn't need this too. It was bankrupt, bombed, heavily rationed, presiding over the dissimulation of its Empire and worried about the Soviet threat.

  • @scottadler Far from being villainous terrorists the British troops were war-weary civilians drafted during the Second World War who just wanted to go home and live a normal life again. Britain itself was bankrupt, worried about the Soviets, heavily bombed, heavily rationed, worried about the dissimulation of the Empire etc. It was not in the mood for favouritism. And my original point stands anyway. Changing the words of this song would be stupid as they were written in 1804.

  • @scottadler Its a call to arms to make the world a better place dude. yes britian screwed up. but the song was wrote way before that there is no need to rename it. relearn its meaning maybe but not rename.

  • This is the holy place where the end times happen. Take good care and keep your eyes on Jersulem. Because Yeshua the Messiah will show Himself here. AHYH bless you all.

  • Christ this is the 3rd time in quarter of an hour I've felt as patriotic as this, one more and Im going to rebuild the British Empire by myself.

  • But I thought Jerusalem is somewhere in the Middle East where camels are

  • @eliaviel1 Hhahaha! Yes it is. Jerusalem is supposed to be the home of Christ. And Europe is predominantly Christian.

  • @eliaviel1 looks like we gots ourselves a smart one pa

  • @eliaviel1 Jerusalem is the central city of the Christian faith, where Christ preached to the Jews and worked his miracles etc. Over time Jerusalem became personified with Christianity itself, it became the IDEA of heaven on earth. This hymn is talking about the IDEA of Jerusalem, of making England like the idea of Jerusalem, ie making England PERFECT!

  • Ohhh... really ? I did not know this. @thebigJM92

  • @eliaviel1 Yes. It only really makes sense when you understand that the words were originally a poem and the music was only added much later. The poem was written by William Blake to lament the oncoming of the Industrial Revolution, he feared the "green and pleasant land" would be destroyed. Instead he wanted England to be built up like a perfect world, like a new "Jerusalem".

  • @thebigJM92 Let's say that this Mr. William Blake was a bit naive to think that Jesualem is the perfect world. Anyway, let's leave these things to philosophers and poem writers. G'day

  • @eliaviel1 Not the REAL Jerusalem naturally, no-one would want to live there!

  • @thebigJM92 Why ? What is the unreal one ?

  • @eliaviel1 The idea of heaven on earth. From all the descriptions I've heard of heaven (whether you believe in it or not) I certainly wouldn't bark at living in heaven-on-earth.

  • Much love to England from Norway! England always feels like my second home, here i come alive! God bless this great and powerful nation that is so deep in my heart!

  • please could somebody put this on here with footage of the recent riots

  • played before England cricket and rugby, has to be our national anthem!

  • Great hymn. upto England to see if it can re emerge as a great nation.

  • England forever..

  • satanic mills lol gotta be halifax

  • Greetings from the Heart Of London

  • my lovely country ENGLAND what have you become. so sad my grandad was so proud of this land sadly i dont feel the sam. shame

  • well, I don't believe in god and I'm not particularly "proud" per se to be british, but I've always loved this song

  • me2

  • This beautiful melody shows the nobleness of UK people.

  • I hate how people say Why are there immigrants in the Uk and USA!!! But the reason is to share our culture, religion and our great nation!!! To be American is to be Britsh!!! As we our Allies and brothers from differant Mothers!!! But I would like all countries to feel that way!!!

  • @THEFLETCH1998 you can fuck off you do gooding cunt!

  • @boudavin Fuck off you!!! I was pissing about ya muppet!!!

  • Comment removed

  • If I weren't American, I'd want to be British.

  • @CountArtha It's not all is cracked up to be , yeah! we got a long history , had the largest empire the world had ever seen , done a lot of good things , done a lot of bad things , but being British is not about the history , it's about Homeland , culture , language , religion , freedom all things the British people fought for over generations , all the things the government wants to take away from us , or terrorists destroy with bombs , to be British is like to be American , know what I mean.

  • As an Irishman, why oh why cant you celebrate this magnificant hymn as your national anthem? Soul stiring stuff.

  • @frankeeg83

I would love to see it sung for England but it isn't appropriate for the whole of the UK.

We have enough great songs in the isles for all the nations to have one and one the union.

  • @eps200 Yes, what I meant, as an Irishman to the "English," not the British as a nation. Absolutely stirring stuff but from a ENGLISH perspective not a British. The words are as obvious to this point as needs be.

  • Here's to Britain at her finest, for there is no equal.

  • yeh fck the bastards fck fck fck em

  • I love jerusalem

  • Such a beautiful song. May The United Kingdom stay United till the end of our days !!!

  • Guess the irony of the lyrics is lost for the ardent, yet wayward, nationalists.

  • England, a nation founded on the hand of god! from usa

  • Comment removed

  • @The222watcher No it was founded on the hand and backs of humans and other animals. men, wimen and beasts who did things without "divine intervention." Please don't demean the lives of the people who did all the work, don't give the glory to a non-entity.

I realise that this is a hymn, but there's no need to say that God made what man and beast actually achieved.

  • @Joshguy01 Oh, Shut up please. You're embarrassing yourself !!!

  • @Joshguy01

This is to you, and everyone else who thinks it's clever and smart and whatever to get into a massive argument on the internet over some really big thing on... A music video.

    Stop.

  • I have been away from England for over thirty years and this hymn still makes me home sick

  • why the fuck is god save the queen the anthem its sssooooooooo unpatriotic, i love my country no some old rich bird.

  • Such a beautiful anthem. Represents the True Old English feeling. God Bless England amen

    From Lebanon

  • Always loved this hymn. Brings a tear to the eye of even me a Scotsman. Be proud of your country and don't let any hate mongers split apart the United Kingdom

  • Such a beautiful song.

  • @TLSUk , what? u mean that i blame hizballah and hamas?

  • @kammoul1 , we are not peacefull? we only took this country because we wanted peace, as we hadn't in europe! like the holocaust, and more alot of aother fights between jews and aother people, we are want peace, we just had to do this country.

hamas and hizballah are firing rockets on us, lies, and we are the bad people right?

  • @OrSadof If you seriously think the blame is all on the other side, then you are part of the problem...

  • @USE4life Religions have nothing to do! The three religions are peaceful they all call for humanity and good relationship! There is no problem between them! The problem is coming from those zionists!!

  • @kammoul1 there is a HUGE problem with religions! im especially referring to the 1 claiming to be "peaceful"

  • The only reason this isn't the national anthem is because of the religious implication :/

  • @USE4life jerusalem means pace and harmony for all nations to live in peace side by side how is this religious implication and god save the queen isnt ?

  • @matmanxify This is a Hymn which is Christian it has nothing to do with co-existing

  • @USE4life: Um, what is the 1st line of the national anthem? GOD save our gracious Queen. It even mentions God twice after that as well in the first verse alone. So I don't think it's the religious implication that stops Jerusalem.

  • This should be our national anthem.

  • @AdmiralKnuckles never thought of this like that what a national anthem we would have

  • @AdmiralKnuckles Make an E-Petition then! A website teh government has launched. Once your petition gets 100,000 signatures it will be debate din Parliament!

  • @AdmiralKnuckles It is, it is one of England's unofficial national anthems. England's other unofficial anthems are "Land Of Hope And Glory" and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot".

  • @AdmiralKnuckles - err, it is. Why people insist on singing the British one at England events always amazes me. Jerusalem is the National Anthem of England, NOT God Save The Queen.

  • BE AWARE FOR WHAT YOU SEE HERE ! * A BIG ISRAELY PROPAGANDA MACHINERY SUPPORTED BY USA. * ONE SIDED INFORMATION, MANIPULATING THE GENERAL PUBLIC. * SEE IT AS THIS; AFTER A DAY WORKING YOU COME HOME ! * AN ZIONIST HAS KILLED YOUR FAMILY AND TAKEN YOUR HOUSE ! * THE ZIONIST'S FAMILY SAY; '' LOOK HOW PEASEFULL IS MY HOUSE ! '' * EVERYBODY IS HAPPY HERE ! * AND IF YOU RECLAIM YOUR HOUSE ! * THE ZIONISTS SAY; '' I AM DEFFENDING ME; AND YOU ARE A TERRORIST ! * BECAUSE YOU ATTACK ME ! *

  • @MrSpiritus001 how many posts have you put this rambling dross on...another anti-jewish tirade..from another bigoted fool..arent you

  • @MrSpiritus001 Let's be honest, the vast majority of people on this video couldn't give two shits what some fool thinks is happening in the Middle East or if the United States is affecting it, we're here because we love our green and pleasant country not because we're politically aligned in a certain way.

  • its not a hymn... just saying

  • Hail England and the UK! From Sweden.

  • @62782kn , jerusalem is in israel, what the fk is england got anything with jerusalem? not that i hate england or sweden.

  • @userarefull the song is saying that england is the new jerusalem

  • @userarefull William Blake

  • The prophet Zechariah also spoke of Jerusalem as the center of controversy, Zechariah 12:2. Zechariah 1:14-16 revealed that Jesus, in a pre-incarnate appearance to the prophet, is aggressively possessive of Jerusalem. He is very displeased with those non-Jews who control the Temple Mount with arrogant security and the Lord revealed that one day He will come back to Jerusalem to build His Temple and there to dwell among His people, the Jewish people, forever.

  • so gay!!

  • From Spain, best anthem ever! Breathtaking!

  • Makes me proud to be English.

  • oh is this the national anthem of pakistan. lol very gooooood

  • @otasawa Pakistan? Hahaha dirty Arab.

  • @Aenglaland ive absolutely no idea..what your droning on about..though ive heard of robert preston the news reporter..i fail to see your point...if by the slightest chance you may have something remotely interesting..to say..then say it.....

  • I'm holding up a cross up in front of all you haters ...

  • It's too fast!!

  • @whatsgoingonthen Sorry but how can you accuse people of been racist when you clearly are a Black Supremeist, and I quote "we blacks.....will out breed you whites and..take england for ourselve", has it ever occurred to you that racism against white people is just as sick and evil as racist against black people? I don't care about the colour of skin, but you call me racist, yet you seem to talk about blacks "outbreeding", like there's a huge divide between black and white still in this nation.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons i suppose i could say the same about you as you clearly called ma a facist......which in hindsight ..is actually..more offensive than..a black supremist..as facists..hated everybody..wouldnt you agree?

  • THIS SHOULD BE OUR FOOTBALL TEAMS NATIONAL ANTHEM !!

  • open up the flood gates..and let all the blacks in europe and africa in..WE NEED MORE BLACKS IN BRITAIN......yes you agree?

  • @whatsgoingonthen I think we less immigrants whether there African, European, Oceanic, Asian or American. The black population in Britain is quite large. Race holds no significance in today's world (at least in my eyes). So saying we need more people of a certain race holds no purpose.

  • @USE4life we need mor e blacks in britain then be less racism.....more respect....you agree yes?

  • @whatsgoingonthen Not really, that's when people start to get the idea that were being "invaded" and there are too many immigrants and people start voting for the BNP .

  • @USE4life why would they vote for BNP?

  • @whatsgoingonthen Because they are uneducated intolerant arseholes.

  • @USE4life at least your honest..about your opinin you have my respect

  • @whatsgoingonthen What the hell are you talking about? Race makes no difference, culture does, personally, I don't want my nation to be threatened by the idiotic religiousness of islam, however, that isn't the case luckily, the border laws are fine as they are, although they could be a bit more carefull when it comes to Islamic possible extremeists...I'm happy with any immigrantion, but they must accept that they are British citizens now, and must respect our culture, democracy and society.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons you read the koran and you will be better person..and be less..marginalized..dont you agree?

  • @whatsgoingonthen Are you some kind of pro-African fascist or something? Like that bastard Mugabe.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons no more like the mass murderer of iraq...tony blair...mugabe angel next to him dont you agree yes?

  • @whatsgoingonthen I've heard enough of this sick twisted thing called religion, I know alot about the Koran and it is no better then any other religious text - all bullshit that has resulted in the death of millions and stunted scientific progress.

And I agree Tony Blair was a murderer, no excuse for any "revenge" though, the British people are not to blame for his corruption. I would never kill an arab just because Gadaffi is still alive, but I would happily kill Gadaffi.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons yes i agree.. but better not to kill anyone...killing is wrong..wouldnt you agree?

  • @whatsgoingonthen What the hell are you talking about? I never said I want anyone killed, your the one who seems to be keen on the idea of racial supremity and fascism.

  • @KingOfStrangePersons didnt you say you would happily kill gadaffi..quote(but i would happily kill gadaffi) unquote

  • @whatsgoingonthen Well that's true, because he's a fucking fascist pig who deserves no less, he tortures his own people and discriminates the Berber population of Libya, he is also responsible for the Lockerbie bombings, so why should he deserve any mercy?

  • @KingOfStrangePersons im not saying..that he isnt guilty of humanitarian crimes...he definetly is why oh why didnt the west do anything about him when..he overthrew king idris in 1969 i think..countries like the uk and america....help these guys into power..when it suits them..ie to exploit a countries assets..and then when these..dictators loose the plot..they want them out..its a game the west is good at playing installing puppet..governments.lockerbie..i could write ten chapters on this..cont

  • @KingOfStrangePersons apparently the scottish government released (al megrahi) not on compassionate grounds but.....he would have won his appeal..and the evidence would have cleared him of the crime..also at the time BP were on the verge of securing drilling rights in syria..and the scots and english governments collaberated to get (al megrahi) released..to appease gadaffi...im not saying gadaffi wasnt involved..he most certainly was..some of the evidence ive read points to iranian saboteurs con

  • @KingOfStrangePersons as to the reason for the sabotage and mass murder of the people on... the pan am flight..from what ive managed to read it was..retaliation..apparently for the death of one of his family members thats was on a jet that was blown up by an american warship..cant verify this story though

  • @Aenglaland I agree with you accually, I am against large-scale immigration, I think we should let people in but they should have to be tested on their knowledge of culture and language first, I was only argueing with this "3thnkr" idiot because he's obviously a racist.

  • So much racism in these comments. O.o
