  • "Viewpoint discrimination" ? Okay, fine, Peter Sprigg. The school will have talks by students who are homosexuals, and it will have talks by students who hate homosexuals. That sounds like a great idea.

  • Lol, keep bashing the bible then zombies, if any of you parents grow up with a gay kid ask them if they wished they could have talked to someone about it when they were growing up! They'll prove my point 4 me thanks! Well I'm gonna go have lots of sinful fun! :-)

  • When I was in 4th grade, we performed a Holiday play. There was a muslim girl in my class, she was very nice. The play had Christian and Jewish songs. Anyway, because of her beliefs, she chose not to participate.Nobody said a word. But now,Christian parents are labeled as ''biggots" just because they do not wish for their children to watch films promoting homosexuality. Why is that? What a double-standard. Not all muslims are evil and not all Christians are crazy schizophrenics! It's all about people!

  • @Lolomoses I know right? They calls Christians and Jews biggots even when they don't necessarily hate homosexuals! Yet, they call us crazy for having faith. Not all Christians are bible-bashing gay-haters! I get so sick of it! When a Christian is called crazy, it's viewed as okay, but when a homosexual is discriminated against, it is suddenly a crime. If gays and atheists are for equality, than they would not discriminate either!

  • @ThompsonJJ Yeah u and Lolomoses r right! They call our religion a "false indoctrination" and have "Gay Pride parades" and Atheist celebrations for their beliefs. They don't want "equality" They want domination. If they wanted equality they wouldn't tease Christians or Straight people.

  • is there a program to support the child who disagrees with this?

  • Is it not alright than for a teenager to justfy bringing a gun to school and opening fire? They are teaching the children that right and wrong don't exsist. People need to stop being so selfish and take a look at the bigger picture. The damage that this alternitive life style is creating. It is destroying humanity, demoralizing our children and its bases are rooted in selfish thought and action.

  • This school's actions make me sad because they are taking a teenager, perhaps one of the most vaunerable and unstable developmental age group and educating them on tolerance. If we define tolerance as excepting all reason why someone would wish to view another persons moral choices as right than where does it stop I ask you?

  • What I mean by homosexulality being like drugs and alcohol is that homosexulaltty covers up the real problem. Many turn to this alternitive lifestyle because of a hurtful and emotionly damaging exsperience. When an emotional exsperience occurs there are two ways to handle it. One way can be defined as mentaly stable and the other can be defined as innapropiate responce.

  • I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE NOT EVOLVING OR GROWING. THE WORLDS GROWING AND EVOLVING AND IF YOU DONT KEEP UP, YOU WILL BE LOST OR LEFT BEHIND. ITS SUCH A WASTE OF YOUR TIME TO FIGHT HOMOSEXUALITY. ITS NATURE . JUST AS HETEROSEXUALITY. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT FINE, JUST GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE AND SHUT THE FUCK UP ABT IT. HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT A THREAT TO YOU. NEVER HARMED ANYONE. LOK AT URSELVES-MOMMYS KILLIN DADDY 4 LIFE INS $. DIVORCE RATES HIGHER THAN MARRIAGE. TOO MANY CHILDREN ARE PARENTLESS.

  • @dorianstark the people of sodom were evolved way beyond a mere gay pride parade, and were destroyed because of thier sin

  • @groundcontrolwon thats a common misconception. as most biblical fairytales.

  • not cool deerfield sucks

  • The website is fuckin creepy dude. :(

  • I disagree with this because gay should not define an entire class of people such as race and religion does. If you are gay, then okay, you are still something else such as white, hispanice, muslim, christian.

  • People making up these lies are hurting our children. There is no special treatment. The only "Special treatment is what these religious want for themselves to have the right to discriminate and speak there view of how they hate gay people without being called out fr it

  • @preventionofgayabuse A true christian dose not promote gay abuse. That is the first statement I would like to make. But just like drugs, alcholoism, homosexuality is another "way" to deal with a person's pain. As Chrstsians we believe in teaching children to let God heal hurts, not the world or the enemy. Like I said its your agenda to deal with your disapointments in life in this way. Dont force it on our children.

  • @Imajenify i am making a comment to your comment abt comparing homosexuality to drugs and alcoholism. what exactly do you mean by that? because i would like to discuss your point of view as well as mine.

  • You can't label yourself Gay Bisexual Lesbian or Transgendered there born that way. They are not TEACHING Homosexuality they are teaching to treat Gay people with respect and helping gay young people to feel accepted. Recruiting kids thats BULL SHIT PURE BULL SHIT.

  • if god didn't want me to be gay he wouldn't make men so attractive

  • @andycandyandy That is absurd logic. So you have no self control? The theif says if God didnt' want me to steal than why is the door to the bank left unlocked ? Its still wrong.

  • @quarterexchange LOL I am against it. But first unfundamental is not a word I think you mean not fundamental which means of or relating to essential structure, function. In the bible it states that it is a sin to use women and men in unatural lust. I am trying to say that your rational thought and God's word are the same. Unatural use means as related to function, unatural use means not fundemental.

  • @quarterexchange You make no sence Rational fact would include that poluting a child's mind is a dangerous thing to do. I can't help it if you choose to ignore the word of God that is your agenda. I am just telling these teachers that want to promote this that regardless of your opinion a day of Judgment will come you can't stop it. And on that day if you had offended a child in others words (children who are raised in christian home teach agianst the sin of homosexulaity) there are consequence

  • Teachers who pervert God's word and teach our children something else that is against God's laws is are in clear danger come judgment day.

  • @Imajenify ---Who is to judge what --"God's word" --is? You?

  • All I cans say is this: Matthew 18:6

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

  • LOL! I KNOW you want an argument. Alas, all I have is calm, cool rational facts on my side. Sorry it annoys you. :)

  • Your continued deranged, irrational babbling proves that yes, you are indeed the one who needs "psycological" help. Just so you know.

  • Quart, your absurd and vain attempts at drawing comparisons where none exist, illustrates your irrational and incoherent nature; a nature which clearly lacks the intellectual and insightful abilities necessary for an adult debate.

  • if they want a better grade - do some of this student have to sleep with the teacher

  • Raiders, of course, God did not give the the editors, interpreters, and translators of the Bible any words to say; other men did.

Your irrational and groundless indictment of gay people is borne from ignorance and wishful thinking, not from any facts. God creates homosexuals the way He wants them. Who are you to argue with the Almighty?

  • Comment removed

  • "We don't believe that 13 or 14 year old kids should build their identity around their sexual desires or behavior." - Peter Sprigg

By this logic, adolescents who express heterosexual sexual desires or behavior as they are developing should not form their identity based upon these desires, they should simply be asexual.

  • This story is bullshit, I am a Deerfield High School student. First off, you know its horseshit because they say "controversy in a school in Michigan" and its in fucking Illinois. Also, the name of the town is Deerfield not fucking Deerfield Park. This story is completely blown out of porportion and totally false. Get your damn religious talk off this page and fuck MSNBC they can suck a fat dick.

  • Raiders, the human and fallible writers/editors/translators/interpreters of the Bible stories got many things wrong; the idea that being gay is a 'sin" is only one of them. You can choose to believe men know more than God, and accept their myths over the Lord's reality, but I prefer to side with God. As always, He has the better track record of being right. :)

  • wont have anything to hold over our politicains making all things legal. we are pormoting this agenda the lowering of the age of concent says it all. bring on the pedos make them the teachers of our new ways. what the hell they are no longer allowed to teach our children as the standards have been lowered. a dummy can see where this is leading, making plebes for the elite to play with as fodder will no longer be able to have children not being able to get tgh certification required. deviencey

  • dumbasses, dumbasses, dumbasses! Of course a quarter of 12 year-olds will be unsure, they haven't even reached puberty yet! Retards, stupid Christian propaganda set out to discriminate because of a book. The book promotes hate and murder, then says wait, don't kill, don't judge. How the hell can ya listen to a book that tells you to kill people one second and live with em as fellow humans the next? It's damn contradictory.

  • The World Is Already Overpopulated, More gays = Less Reproduction thus helping to stablize our Population Level. Think about it, Gays arent going to cause Extinction, We Have a better chance of running out of food and Clean water cuz We;'re overpopulate, its common Sense

  • Overpopulation is a term coined by the elite. Saying the world is 'overpopulated' is like saying racism is true. Race=Human

  • YES ON PROP 8..

being Gay is NOT NATURAL..AND ITS WRONG AND A SIN! wake up people...

  • prejudice is a sin?

  • Yes, aaaapaapt, prejudice against gay people is a sin.

  • Raiders2000, being gay is both natural and normal. God has always created, loved, and kept homosexuality right here on this planet as part of His design for mankind and the earth. It's not "sinful", any more than being black, tall, left-handed, or hetero is a sin. No to h8. Wake up, indeed!

  • hmm who to trust you...VS...God/the bible, ill trust waht the bible says not you

  • Servanttogod, you are free to believe anything that the men who wrote, edited, translated, and interpreted the Bible tell you to believe, and think whatever they want you to think. I. however, prefer to listen to, and accept, the Lord's will over man's. But you do have free will, and are under no obligation to side with God and me.

  • i live in deerfeild

  • How about medical professionals at my University? How about that article I quoted? Cameron made that disease up, and then paid seventeen dollars to get his "study" published.

A little more down-to-earth: How about the fact that I am gay, and that I know gay people, and that I have NEVER heard of a single person who has contracted this "common disease?" Not even "i know someone who knows someone who..." etc. Never.

Moving on, how about the fact that straight couples often have anal sex too?

  • Gay bowel syndrome does not exist. The diseases that you all think encompass gay bowel syndrome affect heterosexuals and aren't necessarily restricted to the bowels.

  • "Cameron took his act to the national stage in the mid-'80s against the backdrop of the escalating AIDS panic. In 1986, he co-authored the book "Special Report: AIDS," which advocated establishing concentration camps immediately for "sexually active homosexuals," theorized that HIV is transmissible by casual contact and popularized a fictional medical condition labeled "Gay Bowel Syndrome.""

    "Gay Bowel Syndrome, yeah right."

    David Holthouse

PM me if you want a link to that article.

  • Just so you know, that's not a real disease. It's fictitious.

  • we should put all the gay people in camps and not feed them and make them sew and cook

  • Let me say that it was NOT a bunch of gay people PROMOTING homosexuality, they were just talking about their experiences, about being harrassed, I listened to this MYSELF I was there and if you think that your child is going to turn into a homosexual just by listening to them SPEAK about their horrible experiences then you truly are ignorant and if you want to "protect" your children from reality go send them to a private catholic school like Loyola where this wont happen

  • Why does that need to be apart of the mandatory curriculum? They're kids. What a joke. I think it's liberal bs and I'm a Dem.

Let kids be kids and don't force them to talk about that. Give them an opt. in option but no one should have to hear this stuff. Should we have Hetero groups where we're forced to talk or listen?

  • But we do have hetero groups and we are forced to listen. Sex ed is completely biased and I listened to that load of crap growing up. I do believe that I heard it said that no one is forced to listen rather parents are allowed to opt their children out. Also, this is about preventing violence in schools and I think it is a good thing.

  • yeah there is hetero groups

its called sex education you fucking moron

do you understand how fucking confusing that lesson is for a kid who is gay

seriously atleast have a section of sex ed to gay kids

it would have made it alot fucking easier

  • @AbsolutGoddess It's all comes down to hate. Only someone dumb enough could say that. How are they promoting homosexuality by making awareness of the social trails and abuse that comes with being involuntarily gay? It's to show that's gay people are people too and that they should be treated like everyone else. Period. Anyone making an agenda are the conservatives trying to make an issue of a non-issue.

  • Disgraceful program, and funded by your taxpayer dollars....they are right, the information that is negative towards homosexuality...such as STD, AIDS, alcohol, drug, child abuse, depression, and suicide attempt rates are not mentioned...

  • And you are suggesting that heterosexuals do not get STDs, AIDS, drink alcohol, do drugs, abuse children, become depressed, and attempt suicide? You are talking about societal problems faced by ALL members of society-not just homosexuals!

Religion needs to be kept the hell out of the schools, and knowledge and ACTUAL science needs to be taught,so the next generation doesn't continue to suffer from ignorance.

  • Well, if we don't want kids to be IGNORANT we absolutely must tell them that over 50% of the AIDS cases in the United States are gay men and that that is 25 x the rate of heterosexuals. We also must tell them that over 60% of syphilis cases in 2007 were men who have sex with men. We also must not lie about hate crimes when religious and race are bigger factors than sexual orientation. By infusing gay teachings into schools, you are doing the same thing you claim of religion-forcing views

  • Should kids be told that:

Religious people get divorced more often than non?

Christians have a higher suicide rate than Buddhists/Hindus?

Protesants have the highest suicide rate of all Christians?

More teen pregnancies occur in conservative areas than liberal?

By infusing religious teachings into schools for MANY GENERATIONS, these facts have been glossed over.

If you want to spout stats, be prepared to present them ALL-not just the ones which confront issues you find uncomfortable.

  • And religious people committ less suicide than atheists...religion is actually seen as a deterrent to suicide. I'd like to see the stats concerning Protestant suicides...

  • You know how to use Google-

It all makes sense...if a Christian chooses to end their life, they have an outside chance of going somewhere else.

If an atheist ends their own life-that's it-they lose everything.

The point was never to complare religion/atheism, but to pick and choose what info is pertinent to children in school. If saying you have a good chance of dying if you are gay, then saying that you have a good chance of committing suicide if you are Christian is pretty comparable.

  • Interesting, because the vast majority of the populations of Denmark and Sweden are atheist, and yet their suicide AND murder rates are far lower than the US.

I'm not personally an atheist, but I'm not so sure I can subscribe to the idea that religion is necessarily a "deterrent to suicide".

  • I tried to stay active in my son's education all the way from elementary to high school. I always taught him from day one, that if any teacher even mentions homosexuality to raise his hand and asked to be excused. Politely tell them that you object to that subject and would like to leave the classroom. If they refuse to allow you to leave, ask to be taken to the principal's office and call me. If they insist on teaching it, we'll go to another school or do home schooling.

  • Way to encourage ignorance for the next generation.

Your kid found out about homosexuality...really...he did-and apparently NOT from an educator, but from other kids.

    Way to go, June Cleaver.

  • Ward Cleaver, actually.

Fortunately, I didn't have to teach him about it. He's very intelligent. At a very young age, he understood that it was a sick, vile and disgusting practice and he still does, as does the majority of this country. Love has nothing to do with it. It's about the freedom to openly practice a sexually deviant lifestyle. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

  • Ward,

...and your son understood homosexuality was "sick, vile and disgusting" after receiving information from what source-the eight year old boys who call each other "fags" on the playground? I guess his sex education stopped at the third grade.

Ignorance is bliss, huh? Too bad you are so obsessed with the physical act of sex that people fall under the catagory of "sexual deviants" if they don't do it your way.

The truth-it is about love-just not keeping up appearances "Cleaver-style".

  • No, actually he knew how he got here. And he understood that the gay agenda has nothing to do with love or procreation. It's about homosexuals attempting to bring their lifestyle into the mainstream and the "right" to practice what we were never built for. Anything else is deviant. He also understood what God's word is on the subject and that is quite clear. I don't condone violence, but I have a vote and I will never vote to allow it into the mainstream. The solid majority agrees with me.

  • If we were never "built for" gay relationships/sex, then why don't gay men try to create relationships, and then revert to heterosexuality? They don't.

Do you deny the 18,000 same-sex marriages which took place in CA in a matter of three months?

Gay people ARE in the mainstream, whether you like it/deny it/vote against it or not. You can't vote people out of existance

  • Homosexuals make up 3% of the US population. That sir, is not mainstream. I don't deny the number of same sex marriages in California, no... but it's also interesting to see that the majority of Californians voted for a constitutional amendment prohibiting it.

  • That number has NOT been substantiated by sources aside from those on Christian/conservative websites-they depend on old census counts of same-sex households, which don't count SINGLES.

The number is likely 7%-10%, which is conservative since a large number of homosexuals are not "out", so they cannot be counted.

Look at the media/population in major metro areas.

Prop 8 passed with 52% after Prop 22 (similar proposition) passed with 62% before it was found unconstitutional. Times change.

  • Actually the 3% that I quoted was giving you benefit of the doubt. I gave you another 1% because of people who haven't "come out". Give me a break. 7 to 10%? You're saying that 1 out of every ten people is gay or lesbian? More like 1 out of 40 or 50. No matter how you try to spin it, you're a very tiny minority. Prop 8 or Prop 22, either way, you wanted it put to a vote and lost. A solid majority of states are adding a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between 1 man, 1 woman. Fact.

  • Well, if 36,000 gay people got married in CA, and only about 200 were from out of state, then one in 1000 married people in CA is gay.

If one in 1000 gay people in CA got married, then we are at 10% of the CA population.

Major metro areas in CA report no lower than 8%.

Of course other areas have lower reporting numbers, especially in places where sodomy laws were just abolished 5 years ago-few people are going to admit they are gay in a place where it is barely legal!

    TINY minority? NO.

  • "...either way, you wanted it put to a vote and lost"

I wanted nothing put up to a vote>Conservative Christians, backed by money from the LDS church put it to a vote AFTER same-sex marriage was deemed a constitutional right by the CA Supreme Court.

Prop 8 is doomed in court by Springtime, and DOMA is headed for the garbage heap as well.

A federal marriage ammendment failed miserably, and why do you suppose that is, if such a solid majority of the American people want to "define" marriage?

  • I wouldn't be so quick to say that Prop 8 is doomed. It still has to be decided by the courts. And FYI, the LDS church is the richest church in the country. They'll pour money into California to keep Prop 8 binding. It's no surprise that California is the largest hotbed of liberalism in the country, but it was a surprise that the majority does not approve of same sex marriage any way you try to spin. A federal amendment failed? No my friend, it was left up to the states to decide.

  • I'm not so sure even the LDS church can buy this one...

I'm not trying to "spin" anything there, Bill O-

It was not that surprising that Prop 8 passed after all the LDS funded, misleading TV ads and hundreds of thousands of robo-calls stating that Obama supported Prop 8, which is a complete lie.

Federal marriage ammendments were proposed and failed FOUR TIMES between 2002 and 2008. They never stood a chance of getting through Congress.

  • Well, you're about half right. Obama doesn't support Prop 8, but he doesn't support same sex marriage either. Spin, spin, spin. So now prop 8 passed, it's OK to attack churches? It's OK to fire bomb LDS churches? That's really gonna help your cause.

Federal amendments failed because they wanted to leave it up to the states to decide. Now try to spin that. It's a clear majority against same sex marriage and you know it.

  • I said that the Prop 8 supporters twisted Obama's words: he OPPOSES prop 8, and they said that he supported it. I did not "spin" anything.

I never attacked any churches/fire bombed anyone(where did you get this, anyway?), and neither have the vast majority of No on Prop 8campers.

On top of that, you are having a circular argument with yourself-I never said that a majority of voters are for same-sex marriage, yet you keep repeating it. The "moral majority" is not always right, by any means.

  • Maybe watch the news sometime and you'll see what the gay activists are doing to LDS churches. It was reported on every major network news channel. LDS churches are being fire bombed and their services interrupted by gay activists.

And I'm not even speaking of the moral majority. I'm speaking of America in general. Almost every state is planning constitutional amendments. And California? A hotbed of liberalism, wants to define marriage between 1 man, 1 woman. You just can't accept that.

  • Exaggerate much?

"LDS churches are being fire bombed and their services interrupted by gay activists."

Okay, Dramaqueen, the front door of ONE LDS church was set on fire and damaged in September-way before the election-no one knows who did it.

ONE CATHOLIC servce in Minnesota??? was interrupted by a group of activists.

You are falling for media hype.

The groups who are "planning constitutional ammendments" are the same regardless of State: Mormons and Fundies-it's not the State's plan.

  • Denial much? I just gave you a couple of examples. No one knows who did it? That's rich. So every state that's planning a constitutional amendment to define marriage is full of Mormons and Christian fundamentalists? Exaggerate much? Here's another clue: Not everybody who goes to church or merely believes in God and his word are fundamentalists. Same sex marriage just isn't going to happen and you know it. Nobody's telling you that you can't have civil unions or have deviant sex in your home.

  • There's no excuse for defacing property-but the LDS church has been a target of Fundies for over a century-Prop 8 supporters just assume that unruly homosexuals have been attacking them all this time-which is ridiculous.

These propositions are sponsored by wealthy, powerful religious groups spreading misinformation.

Civil unions are very different from civil marriage.

Why so obsessed with the sex people have in their own home? Gay Americans don't give a crap what you do in your own bed.

  • Obsessed? I'm not obsessed. And if you'll read again, what I said was that I have no problem with what you do in your home. Look up the definition of the word "deviant", then read Romans 1:26 - 27. You do in your home what you feel comfortable with. You have to answer to God for doing it. I'm not willing to risk my eternal salvation for an unnatural sex act even if I were so inclined, which I'm not. God said to love your fellow man, that doesn't mean have sex with him. Read Judges 19:22 - 23.

  • I like to read the Bible by chapter, or the whole thing-not little lines-the context is lost. Oh wait-that's the point, right?

If I needed a Bible lesson, I'd go to someone with more knowledge.

The US isn't a theocracy-regardless of what religion the "majority" subscribes to.

Do you tell your neighbors, "Nobody's telling you that you can't have deviant sex in your home", or do you just save that for people who may be homosexual? Do gay men/lesbians owe you a debt of gratitude for this?

  • And I like to read the entire bible too. Thing is, the subject that we're discussing happens to be homosexuality and I quoted passages pertaining to that subject. I may be wrong, but you seem to be getting angry. Is it me or the passages that I quoted? No, gay/lesbians don't owe me anything. As I said before, they alone have to answer to God. I'll pray for you.

  • I'm not angry-I just have no patience for people who throw Bible passages around as if the quote is proof for their statements.

Anyone could justify murder/slavery/pedophilia/polygamy/infanticide&countless other crimes using Bible quotes- so there is no substance to an argument which is followed by a Bible quote.

It's a game Fundies play-twist the Bible to match your agenda-repeat, repeat, repeat.

I don't need your prayers, I need the rights all Americans are guaranteed-that would be enough.

  • Have you had the opportunity to see eightmaps web site? I was wondering what your thoughts were. It appears that whomever put that map together spent quite a bit of time on it. Is it just a "good will" gesture, or something more ominous?

  • Some computer geek had nothing better to do.

Ominous? Do I plan to deface property? No and I don't know anyone who has suggested doing anything like that.

What is ironic is that the same"moral majority"who voted yes on 8 voted for the requirement to list contributors to an initiative-now they are panicking.

I've had carloads of jerks drive by my place shouting "fuck you faggot" over the years-is that what prop 8 supporters are afraid of- somebody making their personal life unpleasant?

  • I am truly sorry to hear that you've been harassed. I don't condone that type of activity. And "some computer geek" must have had a whole lot of nothing else to do. That took a lot of work. I can see that we're not getting anywhere here You've made up your mind and I am equally devout. I wish you the best of luck. I truly pray that you will find salvation. I hope God will bless you.

  • Yeah, I love it when people with your mindset feel justified to take their "moral high-ground" right to the front door of those they feel superior to.

Also love when people finish their declaration of superiority with "...hope God will bless you..." like that makes it all okay-so cowardly to hide behind religion.

    All the best...

  • It was Lansing, Michigan...and the authorities questioned whether the activists really caused the damage alleged (fire alarm pulled?).

Google all this drama and read it yourself-just stop exaggerating in an effort to smear all gay men and lesbians.

  • dont worry. When prop 8 lost, there was a firestorm in Southern California. Churches claimed legalizing gay marriage would cause a catastrophe. BZut it seems the results were opposite.

  • ok no one is born homophobic! jeez people are idiots you a taught what alot of people are taught since you are born! so stfu

  • WHCL fuck you.. I am born homophobic. So what you say? faggot..

  • most homophobe's are homos. faggot

  • The Day this country allows homosexuality to be thought in schools, either i would leave this country with my kids or home school them.. keep you sexuality out of our kids books and minds. Gay movement trying to breed gay world in America, leading the end of this world... This sucks. Please everyone become straight for the sake of our world.

  • for coshbane1; you're a moron. For everyone else that believes that this country has a 'gay agenda' you too, are morons. Exposing people, even your children, to individuals who are different than them will help them and everyone as a collective whole become a more tolerant society. What parents often neglect with their so-called protection from the bad things in the world (gays) is that they are often create an extension of their own ignorance, prejudice and hatred for another generation.

  • I believe, instead of having groups teaching kids its OK to be whatever they are, we should just teach them how to deal with bullying. Word bullying should have absolutely no effects on anyone... Seriously just walk away and don't care.

Physical bullying should be dealt with and would require the school staff to actually do something about it instead of banding the kids together in a big enough group they hope it doesn't happen...

  • wow this country really is going to shit

  • I also went to DHS at this time and this makes me really mad. The school is going out of its way to accomodate everybody. So what if there are teachers that are gay? It turns out that the 3 gay teachers that I had were the best teachers of my life. The religious nuts that blow this kind of thing out of proportion should be ashamed. Because of people like them kids are afraid to speak out. There is an overwhelming majority of students that feel that their peers have the right to be heard!

  • When was this aired?

  • umm..

i go to this school. and i was on the SAGA panel. and i wrote about it. but im straight and it makes me wanna kill these people beause thats so rude because i love my friends and it really bugs me!

  • this is really stupid this is my high school

and all there is is a gay clubi dont see the big deal

  • It's probably a front group. While I myself am more libertarian on this issue. I DON'T think it should be forced either way, Left or right. Yet I question many of these do-gooder groups & Their dishonest aims.

  • .. blew this out of proportion. Even the students were getting mad that this was on the news and stuff.. who freaking cares?? people have aright to be who they are and not be ashamed of it. Also, people should focus on themselves and try to be the best person they can be, not critique everyone else and try to make them live by your rules.. where did those rules come from anyways??

  • So i was a freshman (im a junior now) at DHS when this pannel was going on, and this was completely blow out of proportion. All the kids were doing was talking about their lives being gay. It wasnt biased, and they werent even trying to make people change their opinions about them, they just wanted to get their stories out there. I found it very informative and interesting, and then i found out that a mom pulled her kid out of class (theyre Christian). It is rediculous how seriously people took

  • When I read homosexuality was being "taught", I thought the schools had manicans and were teaching children how to perform oral or anal sex on the same-sex manicans. I imagined Abba playing in the background, disco balls flashing, and kids learning sexual techniques. Hmmm...

This seems pretty overblown to me. Who the hell cares?

  • K... so what I don't get is why so many Churches talk about how Jesus fulfilled the Law on the Cross, but then try to talk about the 'sin' of homosexuality when that is ALSO from the Law, or the Old Testament. Why? Why are so many Christians doing that? I'm a Christian myself, and that makes no sense to me.

  • so you know leviticus huh? also you're going to hell if: your parents weren't married when you were born, you eat shellfish, wear clothes made of two different fabrics, being a woman with authority over a man, being a woman who teaches, you idolize someone other than your god. you eat LIVESTOCK. [ Animals ] Etc. and i remember reading in the book of luke that they go to heaven. we are forgiven, and love is love
  • know more before you make a stupid decision, like bringing religion into the argument you cant hide behind the bible. let them be. i love my gay friends, as friends and family. they're good people, they tolerate EVERYBODY no matter what, because they know what its like to be different. being gay isnt something you can control, its the same with your eye, hair, and skin color. im straight i cant out of the blue turn gay. it doesn't work that way. im straight but not narrow [ minded ]
  • just let em be gay.... they cant help it... how would u like it if people discriminated u for bein straight

  • Since Peter Sprigg neither lives in Deerfield nor pays taxes there, it's really none of his goddamned business WHAT is taught there.

  • kalsdkjf

  • ?????????????

  • "A HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL ISSUE?"

to who? you? its only controversial to bigots like yourself

and he's talking about violating free speech rights AND HE'S THE 1 THAT WANTS TO COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THIS

    WHAT A FUCKIN HYPOCRITE

encouraged to be gay is wrong? no they're encouraging the kids to be who they are and to respect others despite superficial differences. SOMETHING YOUR HATEFUL ASS CAN'T DO

this hater is all propaganda & lies

he sights polls and biased surveys

    what a piece of shit

  • I go 2 DHS and this isnt that big of a deal there

  • FRC's--message to gays, I'm okay, you're not okay. FRC is an institution of bigotry.

  • damn bro i feel for the kid, my parents got pissed off when my school did stupid shit like this... now im going to a jewish private school... =(

  • I remember this clealy from my time at DHS (class of '05) The rights of homosexuals are just as important and are the same exact type of issue in America as African-American/Latino Rights, Rights to Native-Americans, and rights to women. Even though some people might be racist, anti-semetic or sexist, that does not tolerate the prohibitation of educational programs encouraging universal civil rights.

  • Oh I remember this BS, people just like to PMS everywhere and I dont even know why there were news casts.

  • I live in this town, trust me 90% of people here are retarded.

  • OMFG, WE HAVE TO STOP THE N*GG*R AGENDA, WE CAN'T LET THOSE N*GG*RS HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS, THEY WANNA MARRY / RAPE OUR WHITE WOMEN... THEY WANT TO GO TO THE SAME SCHOOLS AS OUR PURE WHITE KIDDIES... HOLY CRAP, WE'VE GOTTA STOP THIS SICK EVIL DEFIANCE OF GOD'S LAW!!!!1 GAWD DEMANDS SEGREGATION!!11 LULZ.

Does this sound familiar to you???

  • I think Mr Foreman certainly has his own agenda

  • Yes. Just because I myself like women means you can yell at me and throw rocks at me. Man that makes perfect sense!

  • If our own creator does not see gender ("There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus". Galatians 3:28) and we are to daily seek him and align our thoughts with his, I think we should start working on what he does see (and require us to) LOVE!

  • wow i go there and thats nothing like it is lol this is dumb

  • man this guy's really stretching bigotry to its limit! Trying to make it reasonable and tolerable to hate, what an asshole.

  • Hey, Im an incoming Freshman at DHS. yay class of '11. is the person that recorded this from deerfield?

  • People still jump at the word homosexual if it is said openly in school. Sadly those who attack gays in school seem to forget there attacking kids when they simply treat it as an "issue" or "problem." It's just sad.

  • Hey I go to that school! Anyone against it can go fuck themselves!

  • So is shellfish. :P

  • Oh, and football is immoral too. Pigskin and all. :P

  • this ain't cool

  • American agenda?? WTF is this butt pirate talking about? The majority of America does not believe in homosexuality. That being said, consenting adults are free to do whatever they wish in the privacy of their homes. Get special rights for orientation or behavior is completely assinine, if you are gay great, that is your business, keep it that fucking way.

  • You'd be surprised how many gay people believe that exact same thing. Difference is, the VAST majority of them want equal rights, not special rights. Special rights are stupid; being treated like any other human being is not.

  • Atm it falls under religion since there have been no conclusive evidence that theres a gene, (then again, there is no gene yet that can determine how tall you are but it exists)... and we all know religions are protected under the law. So if ppl want to believe they are gay, let them, unless their causing harm. If you can prove this behavior is destructive(to the ppl involved) then by all means you have my sword and shield to help you. But if not, shut your trap and stop picking on 'religion'.

  • Does this Peter Sprigg asshole live or pay taxes in Deerfield, Illinois? If not, it's really none of his goddamned business WHAT Deerfield High School does.

  • hooray for deerfield!

  • Faggot

  • Stupid. =)

  • I AM NOT A BUNDLE OF STICKS :O

  • come back when you can use language to express a point.

  • there is no such thing as a "gay agenda" especially in these panels. i don't know how people can say those things especially when they have never heard them. it makes no sense, because the GLBT students simply share their struggles. why would they want to "recruit"?

did anyone notice that the woman said that deerfield was in michigan, where there is a map of illinois on the screen and she said it was near chicago. haha. also, the map says deerfield park, which i am pretty sure doesn't exist.

  • there is no such thing as a gay agenda in these panels. why would the GLBT students be sharing their struggles and then ask people to join them?

btw... did anyone notice that the anchor said deerfield was in michigan when there is a map of illinois on the screen? it also says deerfield park.

  • AAACK! The gays are acknowledging they exist! Oh, the horror! Less hate crimes in high schools! Less teen suicides!

  • thats just nasty...

  • i go to deerfield now i am a freshman and I saw the SAGA(straight and gay alliance) panel. AND THIS IS STUPID AS SHIT BECAUSE EVERYONE THINKS THA T THEY ARE RECRUITING PEOPLE TO BE GAY AND THAT"S NOT AT ALL WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

  • i completely agree..i go to dhs too and i am 100% in support of gay people and parents are the problem not the kids

  • i went to deerfield, i hated when they did that stuff to us

  • The 'gay agenda' is no different than the 'negro agenda'; promotion of self serving misbehavior. The 'gays' will be asking for reparations at some point. The official decline of America began with the appointment of J. Edgar Hoover to the top law enforcement post by the same people who cautioned Henry Ford about his landmark book.
