It's about time for the 1987 constitution to get ammended particularly the provision of 6-yr one term for president. I believe that the president's tenure of office should be reduced to 4-yr and eligibility for reelection. with 4 yr/term, filipinos will have the opportunity to boot out the incumbent president every 4 yrs if necessary, and reelect him to another 4 yr if he still has the support of the majority. 6 yr is just too long. and also let's call on for a 2-party system only.
while this is a positive development for our politics, let's still hope & call for an election where programs & policies matter more than personalities. while icons of unity are important, let's work harder so our politics can move beyond issues of good vs evil, & really concentrate on our country's development. let's make corruption & poverty history.
To Mar, our sincerest admiration for doing the "supreme" sacrifice for the sake of this nation.
To Noy, please continue the noblest crusade of your parents. We have shed tears in grief for your father, Ninoy. We have shed tears in grief for your mother, Cory. Now we are shedding tears in joy for bringing hope to this country once more.
To Francis, thank you for your willingness to sacrifice your vice presidential bid in case Mar should decide to stand with Noynoy as the second man.
