Isn't she divine. SO beautiful and innocent. Telling a young Jude to go out there and get it. Fresh love blooming. Nana delivers it with real charm and feeling.
This is my favorite cover of this song. I absolutely love it, and adore her. I wish there were more singers like her--the younger generation needs better role models.
When was this program aired? Thanks so much for posting this! As ever Nana is extraordinary! Slightly surreal...the vibrato notes, the flashing eyes and odd little arm movements...but it all adds up to an incredible, unique and BRILLIANT performance! NANA RULES!!
I heard this on the BBC programme and loved most of the versions of Beatles numbers done by other artists. This one was particularly good however and I have been trying since to get hold of a copy of the track...without success! Thanks Macstras for this though I wish I could copy this for personal use away from the Internet. Also love Let It Be shown elsewhere.
My goodness - I missed this programme, and wish I hadn't now! Thank you so much for posting this clip. I love delightful Nana Mouskouri, and her version of this song sent a thrill down my spine. Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful!
Oh, and for the record, it's "bouzouki," not "bazouki" -- folks, it's not a weapon, after all (at least nor normally). :-) (It is a bit surreal in a Beatles' tune, but pretty cool anyway.)
Thanks, Macstras! Though I'd heard the audio before (thanks to you), it's great to see the visuals that go with it. Thanks for all the fabulous clips you've shared!!
The BBC caption, though, perpetuates a mindless myth, namely that she has only one vocal chord. The reality is that one of her vocal folds is thicker than the other, which created some vocal obstacles for her. But it would be physiologically impossible to produce a sound with just one vocal fold!
Κλασικό και υπέροχο!!!
