@slolom001 a perfect example of this is nestea v mvp g5, they both went for 15 hach 14 cc and 12 mins into the game the zerg player had such a huge army that he could just steam roll the terran. the terran even had spread of his army and defenders advantage, it dosn't matter he didn't do any damage to the zerg and he got demolished
terran whitewash. meh... as a spectator that only watches starcraft, i can tell that terran is way OP beyond protoss or zerg. tourney winners are usually terran. terran gets so many options in early harass, and strong anti-air options, as well as easier macro management than both other races. Terran also has hard counters to almost anything they go against. Well if SC2 is going to be a serious sport, then I hope people gotta start loving TvT since thats all thats going to happen in the long run

The final series was the worse waste of time so far unfortunately. The games were just boring and repetitive. You can summarize it as follows:
1. Terran goes for reaper and banshee/helions.
2. Dimaga keeps macroing.
3. Terran makes marines and tanks.
4. Terran builds more marines and tanks.
How did Dimaga get to the finals and keep falling again and again to banshees? I guess not all games that HD casts can be awesome but the finals were a serious letdown.
I don't think it is really fair to have the players choose the maps. This game is a prime example why you should NOT do that. Come on, Crossfire, really? The one map that is so OP for Terran? I was hoping for an epic last game but then this happens. GG, I guess....

HD i haven't watched your videos/ any starcraft for months, only to come back and see you've finally made the HDWT that you promised us last year. After 5days i've finally watched the entire tournament and I have to say I was impressed. Ignore all the hatin comments it was a well casted, well organized tournament overall. EPIC games, great competitors, only complaint... could have used more co-casters *cough* *cough husky* ;) i'm looking forward to see the next HDWT2 or HDH2

If zerg doesn't over-econ, it can avoid major losses to banshee. Econ spam is just as cheesy and punishable as early all-in rushes, and at the high levels of skill top players prove it. Banshees are easily countered for less cost/time than what terran spends to make them...IF the zerg plays it safely or scouts it.
@TheMelnTeam With the size of that map, there no way Dimaga could have had an overlord there in time to scout the banshees. I think this last map favored the Terran very, very heavily.

So, in other words you just want to sit and make non fighting units for the first 5-8 minutes. That's nice and all, but the pro scene doesn't exactly abide by "NR x minutes".
Everyone balances their production with defenses and scouting, and some races are better at some aspects than others. Zerg can put up a hell of a lot more workers after the opening minutes than other races, but they're more vulnerable if greedy.

Zerg player is a few overlord positionings away from seeing inbound banshees in time. There are always spore crawlers or overseers to help too, and those should be a priority unless zerg sees the terran going FE or fast bio for sure.
Zerg can and in recent major tournaments HAS beaten this harass. Repeatedly.

Care to give something other than old, canned arguments? People can just say that Terran has to work so HARD (that's what she said) and adapt PERFECTLY to the zerg, somehow knowing exactly how the larva are being used (drones vs early military) and denying scouting information that will cause banshees to fly into 3+ queens and spores. This game isn't easy at high levels. For any race. Or, if terran is so easy, why don't you take them to masters? I don't main terran anyway(toss).
Can't have detection?! Lair tech costs less gas than starport (and you always need it eventually). Lair + overseer is significantly less gas than merely reaching banshee tech and training 1 banshee, and that's BEFORE cloak which is expensive. On top of all that, zerg can just plant a few spores w/o lair tech and reasonably cover its mineral line + tech structures with 1 at each base as an alternative.
A banshee harass that doesn't do good damage leaves the terran very behind.
But zerg have no way of scouting if terran goes banshe fucktard cheese. You say sac an overlord? Every terran with at least 20 IQ knows to put marines in the perimeters to deny scouting.
So youre basically telling me that zerg needs to invest blindly in spores and early lair seer tech every game because of a threat of a banshee harass that might not even come?
1base terran can only mean a few things, and zerg can scout the gas timing on almost every map using a drone if they opt to do so aggressively.
Are spores bad against drops? No. Are evo chambers useless? No, you want those upgrades too. Are well-positioned spores a significant deterrent of drops that forces them to land further out? Yes. What do the vast majority of good terrans do? Drops.
If the terran is 1basing it it's not like you'll fall behind playing safe.
@Rokhorn1 There are bunch of scenarios, and I can give you one of them: one player has photon cannons and the other player has some units that are weaker than cannons, no probes, and no nexus. When there are no kills for a period of time, the game is a draw.

Lol, you couldn't pull off strelok's "cute marine micro" in a million years, and the fact that the races are pretty damn balanced is why this series went to a game 7. The only point i agree with you on is that this map favors terran.
@staphinfection grats for being an idiot. Strelok had amazing micro/macro all 7 games, just like dimaga. The races being balanced properly is the reason this series got to 7 matches. And you need more drones and bases as zerg, that's true, but it's also easier to get them than other races.
hd misunderstood the baneling nest and roaches at the beginning so bad... that was standard defense against a 1 base terran... and he wasnt even behind after the attack lol
The same old fast air you see in gold level games. This is an area that is too easy to exploit VS Zerg. Simply block your entrance and the Zerg is forced to make a blind gamble that can easily cost the game. Not to take anything away from the Terran, he played amazing and deserves the win. Great match and a great tourney.

@chapisimo Try the spanishiwa build. hold off on gas for a ridiculously long time, defend with queens and crawlers, then transition into infestors, then ultras. Queens/ spines hold off helions/reapers, queens/infestors hold off banshees, ultras/infestors push to win. plus, the no gas till like 35 supply means a huge eco lead, and getting all four gasses at once after that creates an influx of gas that allows for fast tech with upgrades. FOR THE SWARM!!!

There are always spore crawlers or overseers to help too, and those should be a priority unless zerg sees the terran going FE or fast bio for sure.
Zerg can and in recent major tournaments HAS beaten this harass. Repeatedly.

Care to give something other than old, canned arguments? People can just say that Terran has to work so HARD (that's what she said) and adapt PERFECTLY to the zerg, somehow knowing exactly how the larva are being used (drones vs early military) and denying scouting information that will cause banshees to fly into 3+ queens and spores. This game isn't easy at high levels. For any race. Or, if terran is so easy, why don't you take them to masters? I don't main terran anyway(toss).

Can't have detection?! Lair tech costs less gas than starport (and you always need it eventually). Lair + overseer is significantly less gas than merely reaching banshee tech and training 1 banshee, and that's BEFORE cloak which is expensive. On top of all that, zerg can just plant a few spores w/o lair tech and reasonably cover its mineral line + tech structures with 1 at each base as an alternative.
A banshee harass that doesn't do good damage leaves the terran very behind.

But zerg have no way of scouting if terran goes banshe fucktard cheese. You say sac an overlord? Every terran with at least 20 IQ knows to put marines in the perimeters to deny scouting.

1base terran can only mean a few things, and zerg can scout the gas timing on almost every map using a drone if they opt to do so aggressively.
Are spores bad against drops? No. Are evo chambers useless? No, you want those upgrades too. Are well-positioned spores a significant deterrent of drops that forces them to land further out? Yes. What do the vast majority of good terrans do? Drops.
If the terran is 1basing it it's not like you'll fall behind playing safe.

@Rokhorn1 There are bunch of scenarios, and I can give you one of them: one player has photon cannons and the other player has some units that are weaker than cannons, no probes, and no nexus. When there are no kills for a period of time, the game is a draw.

Grats Strelok on exploiting cliff mechanics that totally hinder ZERG and no other race.
Grats for doing the same build over and over, and winning, because Terran has the most absurdly pumped Tier 1 units.
Grats for being super boring and not doing anything extraordinary at all except maybe some cute medivac micro, or marine micro here and there.
and Grats to Blizzard for making Zerg the hardest race to play just in the fact that you need 1+ bases and 15+ drones MORE than your opponent.

@staphinfection grats for being an idiot. Strelok had amazing micro/macro all 7 games, just like dimaga. The races being balanced properly is the reason this series got to 7 matches. And you need more drones and bases as zerg, that's true, but it's also easier to get them than other races.

The same old fast air you see in gold level games. This is an area that is too easy to exploit VS Zerg. Simply block your entrance and the Zerg is forced to make a blind gamble that can easily cost the game. Not to take anything away from the Terran, he played amazing and deserves the win. Great match and a great tourney.

@chapisimo Try the spanishiwa build. hold off on gas for a ridiculously long time, defend with queens and crawlers, then transition into infestors, then ultras. Queens/ spines hold off helions/reapers, queens/infestors hold off banshees, ultras/infestors push to win. plus, the no gas till like 35 supply means a huge eco lead, and getting all four gasses at once after that creates an influx of gas that allows for fast tech with upgrades. FOR THE SWARM!!!
