Black jack is a brilliant game.

For people first being shown the game, it appears to just be a matter of counting to 21 and guesstimating your odds of winning.

While those are aspects of the game, this game is 100% strategy.

And that's why I love it.

@MrLeopardgekko Some tables' rules will let you touch the cards, but most of the time this is not the case. If you are allowed to touch your cards, you'll put them under your chips when you want to stay on a hand.

dont use high/low count if you plan on counting cards. the casinos love card counters that use high/low because you will lose.. look up moviemakerjjcasino on youtube hes got the best counting system

The narrator actually isn't describing the game very well.

The goal is absolutely not to get as close to 21 as possible. The goal is to beat the dealer. Mathematically the house has a slight edge at blackjack because the house plays last, and can win without playing if everyone busts.

Blackjack has the best inherent odds of any game in a casino if you play it with perfect technique.

@guitartuner7 Yes you can still count cards. It becomes a lot more effective deeper in the shoe. The HiLo system is not very complicated, but requires some quick mental addition/subtraction.

If you can count cards, the advantage swings to the player. If you do it long enough and win enough, the pit boss eventually comes and taps you on the shoulder to ask you to leave because you figured out how to beat it :)

Why are they hiding the cards? I've played this in 5 different countries and never seen that, its a waste of time it looks like to me, and you are supposed to be playing as a team in a sense to beat the dealer, if you knew the guy to your left has a 5 and a 6, you are more inclined not to hit and bust on your shitty 14 or 15 and he might get the 10.

How others play their hand does NOT affect your odds one bit because no one knows what the pattern/flow of the cards are until they're dealt! The reason why they "hide" the cards is because they're dealing a 1-2 deck game. The shoe games (3-8 decks) deal them face up because it speeds up the game and minimizes the chances of cheating. Dealing the cards face down in 1-2 deck game minimizes the chance of a card counter exploiting a good situation.

No, you can only win with 13 +. If dealer deals me a 4 and a 8, i got 12. I stand. Dealer has 2 and 4, he hits gets 3, hits again gets another 3. It's a stand, where you get your money back. Say the dealer had a 2 as his last card, it's 11. The dealer would hit, and its inpossible for him to lose. The only 2 options are a players loss, or stand.

Actually the guy isn't lying. The type of game he is talking about is a version of black jack where the bets aren't serious and can be as low as 50 cents. At these tables everyones cards are visible including all of the dealers cards. The idea at these tables is to teach you how to play the game and feel more confident about yourself. You can actually ask for the dealers advice and they will tell you their most honest opinion on how to get you to win. ONLY AT THAT TABLE THOUGH

there are many different stratergies to counting cards, the most popular one is the hi-lo system. 2-6 stand for 1, 7-9 stand for 0 and 10,ace,king, queen and jack stand for -1. u have to add up every card on the table and if the higher the count is the higher u should bet basically. theres alot more to it though, so research it more before u even attempt it in casinos. Also without counting cards the casino has a 0.25% to 1% advantage over u.if u count cards u have an advantage of up to 2.5%.

You gotta find out how many packages are played with. Usually the number is 6.

6decks (6x52) is 312 cards.

You got 24 twos, 24 threes ... 24 nines, 96 tens+pictures and 24 aces.

And you keep count of either all those, or you group them in a way you can count them easier.

It is fucking hard to do that, and not very many people can do it. Especially not without training.

Also you must have in mind the perfect system to play on all hands.

Takes a lot of talent, and a lot of training.
