I have been so unlucky with my rabbit care because 1 was let out by these little kids and another died of a sickness, I want 1 more chance I keep asking my mom for one and they're just so sweet looking and it will give me something to do besides sit on the computer all day. i really wanted this rabbit i saw at this pet shop, while i was staring at the cage with 3 rabbits inside, one black, one white and one tan/orange...i dunno @_@, the black and white ones ran to the back of the cage scared, but the tan rabbit just stared at me, i went over to pet it, and it just sniffed my hand and licked it, i really wanted to bring it home with me, i begged my mom, she wouldnt let me because i already have a dog and 2 birds, who are healthy :| i hope that rabbit is alright..

Like, how do you tell if the rabbit is totally healthy? Is it bad if it's really shy at first? And should you not buy it if it appears stressed in its environment (meaning it was not well taken care of)?

the stupid thing iz... i saw a rabbit injured at the side of the road so my mum called the RSPCA (or wotever) and they sed "sorry we do not help rabbits because they r classed as rodents"

@jerilyng well,i just recently found out,>.<....either way i highly dbout rabbits should be considered rodents.not by scientific matters,i mean by people.rodent has such a negitive term to it,which makes many parents say no to getting one.when u hear rodent,most ppl naturally think of a dirty creature scurring around on the floor. while rabbits are "rodents"they are very far from the term.

@teamsoulsiver Yes, but they very rarely do because they don't need to blink as much as humans. Also, they sometimes sleep with their eyes open. You'll notice that if they hear a loud noise, or are scared, they will stay completely still.

@7pins Its what they are meant for and it is the reason they can have kits so quickly. Because they were meant for carnivores (like humans) to eat. I understand how some people think it is wrong. I have only eaten a rabbit once, it tastes good, but I don't want to eat it often. If it was not meant to be eaten, it wouldn't be eaten. :)
