  • Ellen Burstyn REALLY deserved that Oscar... Shame on the academy...

  • 1:05 - 1:09 <-- jared is so sweet (:

  • Jared is awesome !

  • Oh my GOD... she´s marvellous, absolutely brilliant!!!

    A heartbreaking performance.

You don´t even need to listen, just look to her eyes and feel all the pain...

  • Jesus this looks good, gonna order this film now, it looks really gripping...

  • it is... one thing, don't watch this movie if you're depressed, you'll never make it! hehe! ;)

  • WOW!

thats all i need to say

  • Only read the book the other day, it's kind of shit looking back at the video and all the words are exactly the same. it doesn't really fit with Leto's acting, he seems really unnatural.

  • i agree. he didn't convince me neither.

  • in my opinion it's great they kept it very close to the book here - this dialogue is so strong it doesn't need any altering. yet I have to agree that Jared Leto isn't really convincing... but hey, it's hard to compete with Ellen Burstyn's absolutely amazing acting!

  • true.

  • i completely agree that she should've won an oscar for this role, she blows me away

  • she's fucking good !@#$%^&*

    briliant seen :(

  • Julia Roberts should have handed her Oscar to Ellen

  • She incredibly reminds (physically, I mean) me of an old woman that I know, which sees herself only as a grandmother, with no other reason and right to live besides her grandchild.Though she's always very optimistic, I'm sure he's depressed somewhere deep inside.Ellen reminds me of her in this scene in a disturbing way...Excellent performance, I have to say.

  • When I watched this for the first time, I turned it off about half way through. I watched it a second time, and I couldn't take my eyes off of Ellen Burstyn. She was so wonderful; she should have won the Oscar. Absolutely incredible.

  • One of the best on screen performances in all of cinema.

  • This is so heartbreaking, her being so lonely and all. Just breaks my heart. What a wonderful movie though.

  • goddamn this fucking movie... it's absolutely amazing but i cant watch it more than like four times a year otherwise i become chronically depressed lol

  • yeah, me too : too much reality, too much pain to witness of.

  • This film reminds me of a poem called 'Kates poem'. Like Kates poem this film is a realy eye opener!

  • from whom is that poem?

  • I hugged my mom after watching this. Ellen in Requiem reminds me of my mom. She has no friends, she watches TV all day, she always seems so sad, and sometimes I think she'd be happier if she hadn't gotten married and had me...

  • mmm, rough one... i think that if you'd ask her, maybe she'd tell you that you're what she did best. ask her. it's some how relevant to know what your mother feels about you. :)

  • love Jared in this movie ,and especially the moment when he says:Im sorry for being such a bastard....`` its so cute!

  • Love that New York accent. =)

  • brooklyn yooo!

  • OMG, She is just PERFECTION!

  • yes, she is. but she's MINE! haha!

  • Omg, Jared's voice xDD when you're used to hear him screaming in 30stm, it's.. weird! and he's scary that thin! anyway, the movie looks awesome, I'm gonna buy it:D

  • lol i luv how jared chages his voice for the movie i luv him

    XOXOX

  • oh, thanks. I definitely think Ellen should have won. Julia is a great actress but Ellen is better.

  • en effet! elle tue la mort dans cette scène...

  • julia roberts, in erin brokovich i think.

  • Are you fucking kidding me? Julia Roberts has an Oscar?!

  • who did she lost the Academy award to?

  • This is when the sobbing starts

  • I like thinkin' about the red dress.

  • aa i just love his voice & accent =)

    <3 ya jared :)

  • this is the number 1 saddest film scene of all time.

  • My favoriste moment is :

"I'm somebody now, Harry. Everybody likes me. Soon, millions of people will see me and they'll all like me. I'll tell 'em about you, and your father, how good he was to us, remember? It's a reason to get up in the morning, it's a reason to loose weight, to fit in the red dress. It's a reasopn to smile. It makes tomorrow all right.

    (...)

Now when I get to sun, I smile.

  • Same here mate. It completely breaks my heart every single time.

I honestly can't believe she didn't get an oscar just for that scene alone.

  • indeed, she should have won an academy award... and i don't get it why people likes jared leto in that scene (and movie), he's just not coping with burstyn's talent, i think. when he says "ma", i don't buy it, it's not credible. bouhou!

  • your dumb shut up he got nominated for best actor to

  • and the point is? i, as a person, still think he did not reach the quality of burstyn acting, may he, or not (for me), be good in that scene and movie.

  • This is my favorite scene!

"Ma,I can hear you grinding your teeth from here!"
