Motorcycle registration and insurance is way too expensive in Quebec... Mopeds are cheaper and I don;t need to go more then a few miles a day.... to work and back...
@LanceCampeau Doesn,t matter. I,m 44 and i like my 50cc scooter more than my car. I ride about 25miles a day to tmy job with it ,and it,s been a lot of fun. Also saved me a lot of bucks. Keep going Lance!

@LanceCampeau the kit is nice, but i happy with mines being stock. im looking into purchasing a bi turbo exhausted. i have a tomos lx just the like yours minus the kit like i mention before. do you think its worth buying and installing.

i just got one that the oil pump went out so the rings are shot. it will still start but has no power. i only payed $20.00 for it...got to love crackheads!
you should get Tomos A3 MS, it's cool looking and it's not spending that much fuel as A35 also it's not that much blocked so it's a little more powerful

Last week I bought a 2006 Tomos Targa LX Biturbo 65cc it has 400km on it got it for $750CAD I want to make it a bit faster it tops out at about 51km/h i want it to go 60. but man i saw your vids on your streetmate that things awesome wish i had a streetmate.
OK I'm hearing nasty rumours that the SAAQ will charge $288 / year for 49 cc bikes in 2011, do you know if there is any truth to this? I'm still thinking of getting an LX or customizing another older moped like a PUCH or Motobecane or something of that ilk a la 1977mopeds. I would have to register it as a "home-made" according to the rules and regulations of the SAAQ in their document "Vehicules Artisanales". Anyhow, I'll try hooking up with you on Facebook, it might be easier.
my bike had a Raptor Kit on it so its petty fast... a light rider should be able to 45MPH... i might hit 40 cause In am heavy... 25 is low... you should average about 30 running stock.

I'd get a tecno bullet muffler... they are cheaper and have the same performance as the BiTurbo.

A kitted LX that is only going 51 KM/H? Sound like you maybe have a carb issue... make sure your carb is clean and properly jetted.
