  • Love this.

  • WoW!! I had occasionally looked for this version, having dug on it nearly 20 years ago... and now I've been reunited with it!! I really love this version!! Thanks for posting!!

  • The opening cut from an LP that changed my musical life: "Lou Rawls Sings/Les McCann Plays 'Stormy Monday.'" I knew the tune going all the way back to 1966 with Mayall/Clapton; I'd discovered McCann, a couple of years before I found this LP in a bargain bin, from his LP with Eddie Harris, "Swiss Movement;" Rawls, to me, was someone that showed up a lot on TV variety shows. This LP re-educated me.

(Incidentally, this was Lou's first LP under his own name.)

  • @Jamman1214

Sorry, son, I didn't know I was logged in on your account.

  • This is for real..This cat has always been the real voice for me. We met in Miami..I did a show where I Put on like him. The comedian in that show wrote a tune for Lou "Natural Man'" He thought I sounded like Lou, so he called him while he was in town and asked him to come down to check me out..He did, and it was when I took the stage , I just didn't think it was right to try to sound like the master...He has left his mark on me. I do Stormy Mon on youtube..Dial in joseph ephraim...Thankyou Lou

  • Two of the late Greats of Jazz . Lou on vocals & Les on piano. It was the best of times for Contemporary Jazz & also for Soul music. Lou & Les are gone now, but never shall they be forgotten. Two "Giants"of the industry. Vaya con Dios mi hermanos.
