This is awesome ... I sent this video to my friend because it has the "Asian Crystal Gayle" in the video. We love her. She is also in the Commodores / Lady (You Bring me Up) video.
If Cheryl Song wasn't in the line up, I'd still watch Soul Train but, I'd really miss her. I looked out for the other best regulars but, Cheryl(the small long-hair asian) was my look-out. I just loved her moves even though she wasn't really the best dancer on the show.
I'm trying my best to re-create the feelings, the love of Black folk by Black folk and welcoming anyone else's love who chooses to love us, rather than to hate us. I'm Beax Rivers, author of Silver: Currents of Change (Amazon.com). This book is the first of a collection called "Tales from the Quarters." Stories from the Black communities (fiction) of the nation, reminiscent of a time gone by ... even though they're modern day!
this is what's wrong with america today, there is no soul train to bring us all together! we fight over stupid shit like politics when we should be line dancing on soul train!!
This is the era when they stopped JUST having FUN and started performing in order to get into show business...no more young kids showing their stuff...and having a great time...we started seeing some of the same faces not just young people from around the block like in the 70's. It started feeling staged and Hollywood. I hated that...but stayed loyal :)
Yeah and it got even worst by the 90's. The moment they started getting guest host (aka Shemar Moore), it was the beginning of the end, in my opinion.
@Mspendragon72 yeah they did after the 90's they really killed it they shopuld have kept the o bryan soul train theme song and in the late 80's they should not had all those white acts and in the 90's they should not had those lame guest host..whew i can go on and on
Yup those were the days dang I remember also seeing that girl with the long ass hair all the time on the show man I can't believe this was everyone's favorite show on sat!! Way to do it Don REST IN PEACE!
@prttybitc626 LOL I hear ya, the clothes back in the 80's was pretty far out there. I was so happy when the 90's came around....clothes were much better then :-)
i remember when i was a kid we had to SNEAK to watch Soul Train because that was the devils music. it was so much fun to watch. we would be waiting for our momma to go to work before noon so we could hopefully watch soul train. omg those were the days before TEVO
@DBCBoy618 I agree. But the soul train line in the 80s were to showoff what you were wearing and not really about the dancing, where in the 70s it was more about the dancing and less about the fashion.
@jdmoonwalker12 man...she's my all time favorite. I always watch for her little move every week. I wish I knew her name to google her to see if she did anything else...she's fine!
That looks like an early Rosie Perez- whose 0:14 could have very well of performed that lil stint @ a strip joint!. Now don't get me wrong- I love 4 Ms Perez- 4ever! Especially in her post "Moochie" era
hahha 4th dancer is dressed hecka fly. That style's back.
