  • joe Satriani losing your hair :(

  • not Blackmore.......... its not fantastic..

  • Purple with Joe Fucking Satriani wonderfull

  • Satriani actually fits nicely in this song, but DP with Richie sound like a completely differend band. Only sound that comes close is with Bolin, sad he didnt live longer.

In my opinion Richie and Bolin bring out the blues, Satriani and Morse are too heavy for the old DP songs.

  • Satriani with hair

  • Anya es el mejor tema del album The Battle Rages On por lo tanto Deep Purple debe tocarla en vivo.

  • Quiero que Deep Purple toque ANYA en sus giras.

  • When the Band plays this song it's only great.

When the Band plays this song with Ritchie Blackmore it's just pure brilliance.

Fuck Ritchie's ego and everything else. It's right that Deep Purple couldn't exist anymore with him. But his playing made the most DP-songs to masterpeaces. The rest is only very good.

  • @lw48wp4 Blackmore left the band in 1993. It`s now 2011 . Get over it

  • @45rpmSINGLES I wasn't born when Blackmore played with DP and I discovered this kind of music for me only two years ago. I compare the line ups independent of the time they played. And now I came to the result that Blackmore is better than Morse or Satriani. Excuse me, that I said my opinion.

  • @lw48wp4 as you say , it`s the opinion of someone who discovered rock music 2 years ago ...

  • @45rpmSINGLES But I think I'm not alone with it...

  • @lw48wp4 n what about Sometimes i feel like screaming or walk on????Richie is good...but he is not the band...the not Richie's albums are really good, purpendicular...abandon...and the other including come taste tha band(well that is pretty diferent) for comon people the voice is all...and comon people decide if a band continues or not

  • @andresc228 Don't get me wrong. I don't think Blackmore is Deep Purple. Morse, Satriani and Bolin are also great guitarists.

I saw DP live a few weeks ago and it was the best concert I've ever seen and I also like the new albums (and come taste the band). But Morse and Satriani have such a completely different style. I'm sure that Blackmore would not be able to play some things of the Morse-era.

I just like the older things more when Blackmore played them.

  • Ich war dabei und hatte voll die Gänsehaut! Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass jemand das mitgeschnitten hat. Vielen Dank fürs Reinstellen!

  • Joe should have stayed with Deep Purple. Beside from beign a great guitarist, he has a really nice temper and personality. Personaly, I think that, if he stayed with them as a full-time member, Deep Purple would regain it's old fame. Morse is also great guitar player, but he totaly changed the band's music style. I want the old Purple back! :D

  • great !!!

  • Great Joe...

  • wonderful version!

  • omfg, Joe with hair on his head!

  • Way to go Joe. You stepped into some pretty big shoes and played your heart out.

I love it; someone who isn't afraid to stand up and give it all ya got. Ritchie..you Jackass. If only he was a 'people person' instead of a bipolar crazy-man. Don't get me wrong; Ritchie has been my favorite guitarist along with Johnny Winter and Joe Satriani.

    Many thanks to stargazer2080.

  • Ritchie Blackmore was an amazing guitarist of our time. Too bad he was such an arrogant dick. I believe he really hurt his career being the way he was and could have been an even more influential force had he not behaved the way he did. Its sad really, because he was such a virtuoso. He would refuse to play certain songs on stage, and would just disappear off stage behind his amps when he didnt feel like playing. ???? That is just not acceptable in my books and thats why he has such a bad name

  • The version is really nice, I would say that solo surely can be compared to blackmore's best performances.

Is it better? Hell knows. I love both.

  • Satriani is a decent player but his sound and style were totally inappropriate for Deep Purple. Morse is an excellent choice but still, nobody compares to Blackmore.

  • einfach nur geil

aber ohne lord hört sich das bestimmt nich so gut an

  • who are these idiots saying ritchie is not a good guitarist..get real! every album used to be different when ritchie was in the line up. steve morse is very good, but now every album sounds the same. agree or disagree i dont really care, ask anyone to name a deep purple song other than smoke on the water and i bet it wont be one that steve morse co wrote.

  • Satch really owns in this video. I love Ritchie but hey Joe is just as good.

  • Jon Lord !

  • bad RB impersonation

  • Please release this stuff!

Purple's more than Black. Been to the RenFair? Avoided Come Taste the Band? Hell, Black's more than Black! How many players & singers need to line up in proof?

  • Thanks for this video, really appreceate it, still would give 10 marks for Blackmore's version of ! Joe is very technically sound .........but pls take one listen to "Gates of Babylon " from Rainbow and you would understand what "awesome " guitar playing is.

  • Damn.... They should release a live DVD with Satch. This is just amazing...

  • they should have had some footage from this era in the history hits and highlights dvd

  • sorry, but purple is purple under the condition of having ritchie in the crew. black's more than purple!

  • Why watch then? Go watch some crappy performance of a Deep Purple classic, done by Blackmore's Night instead. Deep Purple managed to live on without Ritchie thanks to Joe and Steve. The band ain't the same without Gillan. He is the classic voice of the band. Ritchie wanted Joe Lynn Turner, which is the same as throwing the band into the toilet.

  • ritchie's an asshole if you ask me-

gifted yes ,but his acting like a child ,not letting lord interact -always pushing him rudely away -childish really

Jon Lord's the man ! always was.

  • Ritchie left the band because he wanted. His ego was bigger than his tallent and his spirit of playing together. Ian Gillan at 'come hell or high water' years before this show was so amazing that Ritchie could not share some space with him. Ritchie was really very good, but not a god of guitar. I really love his music, but he is so stupid. And since he left deep purple he did not create nothing original. I like Deep purple with S.Morse a lot too.

  • @kdinhoguitarra Ritchie is definitely a god of guitar I don't know what you are thinking of. Yes Joe is as well, but if anything Ritchie's ego was huge but certainly not quite as big as his talent.

  • @Whackooyzero

you are def right and mister ldinhoguitarra def wrong !

    blackmore is unmatchable,

satriani is not of this earth, super colossal and probably wondering if there is life in space ? and i love his strange beautiful music for the satriani fans out there sure knowing what i mean! blackmore first but Joe on his own as well and second first, loved satch seeing him with the purples in 93 -94 in Ghent , tilburg saarbrucken and ... ( shit ) getting old not knowing the fourth gig anymore

  • @kdinhoguitarra then what do you think about Rainbow?you say he didn't create nothing special...Ritchie created Hard Rock,Ritchie created also the so called nowadays Power Metal...If you telling me that's nothing special,it's ok but you're don't have the knowledge of Ritchie's music work ;) and p.s.The first Concert with symphony orchestra was Deep Purple's idea so mate please don't write stupid things ;)

  • @kdinhoguitarra You took the word right out of my fingers, man. I totally agree with you.

  • Thanks for the upload. That brings memories back. I was sixteen years old, standing in the front row on the left. Unfortunately I could not catch John Lords towel he was throwing to the crowd after the encores.

By the way the laser show at the beginning was quite cool. Location is called "Saarlandhalle!".

  • grumpy.., Spazz.. is the handle of someone posting above who's opinion I was embellishing, that's all.

  • Rare piece of video here! Thanks for the upload!!

  • DEEP PURPLE

  • Satch fits perfectly with Purple!

I hope there will be released one of those shows officially

  • imagine if joe had joined permanently instead of steve morse?

  • Yeah, Spazz, Joe slowed the intro solo, except for the tremolo bits, but Ritchie's versions sound like traditional Flamenco runs, full of fire, speed, quickness, melodicism, and drama. Maybe Joe was worried about inevitable comparisons? Maybe out of respect for his predecessor? who knows. Ritchie's versions definitely sound more impressive to me and I do like Joe and Steve as well.

  • pokbacsi100. What's a Spazz?

  • joder q parecido suena aqui satriani a blackmore

  • popguitars cannot be compared with blackmore

cause he created it along with hendrix and knophler + gilmore, just my oppinion

  • great song!

  • i have to go with steve the man!!!! i love what steve puts in what other gutarist cant in his playing....

  • Happy Holidays to everybody, especially to Deep Purple the best band in the whole universe...

  • @dieneshugi for me it's a wonderfull band i saw this band in the 1986 in italy there are very actually.........iron sound..........

  • rare footage :)

  • how hold your horses please!

    satch is great and superb,

far better for Purple than Morse,

Joe is incredible and gave the singer the strenght to go on without Blackmore,

joe turned down the offer to play for Purple so the hired Steve " the mechanic "

  • TOTALLY agree

  • I doubt Steve would still be in the band if they hadn't been happy with what he brought to the Purple sound. They could've just got someone else...

  • Me too!!!!!!!!Satch is far beyond than Morse. Joe is the total guitarrist. The best of the best. Guitar god in my opinion.

  • It is hard to say who is better. They both do good at their styles of guitar. I think now, Steve Morse fits Purple better then anyone has ever tried!

  • agree his picking technique and vibrato is better then anyone they ever had, Satch and Blackmore are more original though, i prefere exotic and minor scales too chromatic and mixolydian any day too but Morse has got the best tone among all Deep Purple´s guitarists

  • Proves one thing Satch is Technically superb but cant touch Blackmore for pure emotion and god given talent!

  • Ritchie's extended "Arabianesque" solo of this song on the live CD is a step beyond the "Come Hell or High Water" DVD version or this- "somewhat emotional territory for Satch"-expression. I see Joe's effort as a tribute to Ritchie & Purple, not a competition. I guess the band didn't want to honour the departing RB with the visual compliment on the DVD to his audio masterpiece. His Classisal/Folk/ Middle Eastern mode( Phygerian?) on "Anya" outdoes Page's "Kashmir" & his own "Perfect Strangers"

  • Satriani wasted my fucking time. he cant hold a candle to Blackmore.

  • Yea you are right TheStargazerKing, if improvisation is making mistakes and playing rubbish then Richie is indeed far superior guitarist then Satriani:)

Hope you were just jokeing.Take care.

  • nice video

i've never seen videos of dp with satriani

    very good stuff

  • Thanx Again Stargazer2080!

    Greetings

  • Satriani sucks Blackmore's riffs

  • Well, this tracks show's us one thing. No matter how good Satriani is, Blackmore is a far superior improviser, far more creative, melodicly more advandec player then satch.

  • wow!

  • damn this song rocks so much

and damn, satch rocks so much

  • Tnx man!

Pretty good stuff, continue uploading rare videos!
