3 way SLI gaming PC

Hey Trubi, I'm pretty sure the ATI eyefinity technology wasn't around yet when this was made and neither was the nVidia surround. How in the world did you pull this off?

With only 2 screens you get a really annoying bar right in the middle of the screen , which makes it impossible to play games on it. But for everyday, non-gaming use , 2 monitors are good.

with sli you have 4 ports for screens (two in each graphic card). does it matter which of them 4 you wiil use to connect your three screens?

yes. connect your first card in the 1,2 order then connect your third screen to the other card wherever your first port is

That is pretty sick, that type of setup would work in a flight simulator but not FPS. I have a 40" Toshiba 1080P LCD paired with a 22" HD WIdeScreen LCD and gaming on a single big screen is sooo immersive. You actually get dizzy if your not used to the game because it takes up your entire field of vision.

@Yocrof while true it looks like that on demo, the difference between playing on 1x46" and 3x19" or w/e is that on the 3screens u get a much wider viewing angle.

To put it simply, if you were playing counterstrike, you could see some1 at the side of you, where as on the 46" you wouldnt. it would just be a "big" screen.

@Yocrof yes but you could only have a max of 1080p with an LCD tv, with proper screens you can have (if you have 3) 7680 x 1600 (or 1600p ultra HD) so your getting less quality with TVs.

One thing I'm confused about with SLI is can you plug two monitors into one card if its SLId? I have a GTX 280 and a GTX 285 in SLI with only one monitor, if I bought a second monitor would I have to buy ANOTHER graphics card to use it?

You can always plug 2 monitors into one card, sli'd or not. Just make sure it has dual link DVI.

Thats not 3 way sli, sli is where all 3 cards are working on one screen

SLi = System Link Interface.. he is using SLi buddy.

but you would need to link the cards together with the sli cord to make it sli and hes not because if you enable sli you can only use 1 screen, thats the whole point of using sli to give you more power on 1 screen, if you use more screens it requires more video processing

Its a SLi system, and you can use more then one screen if you have the latest drivers. A while ago you could only use one screen, but not anymore. Trub has a SLi system, check out his other videos.

but big screens don't support a big resolution. like a 50" which is a TV screen only has 1920x1080. this setup takes the resolution of all the screen. in the case of 3 22" monitors you would have resolution of nearly 5000x1050.

i have a similar setup, just not wall mounted, i can guarantee, u sit down and play crysis the border around the screens will not bother you at all. u can get a frensel lens, but when the screens are not in use its very unsightly

Also the bigining of Crysys is a video, its not actuly rendering the 3D models its just playing back a super HD video. So if you ran the game Crysys on all 3 monitors at the same time it would most likely look like crap and would only get 10-20fps. I'm not saying your system is crap, I too have 3 way SLI(3x8800Ultra) so I knowits limitations.

Personally i prefer the 3 screens, I tried playing it on a 52" LCD and the game felt empty and uneventful...If you ever have the chance of playing with 60" of wraparound LCD's i'm sure the smile on your face would be evidence enough as to which way is better!

In the end though it is all down to personal choice...You love it or hate it...but either way...don't jump to conclusions till youve at least tried it!

At the moment I could grab another 32" and have 3 32"s for triple head but they do have large borders so to be honest 32"s are not that good for triple head.

I'm eyeing a 46" sony at the moment its got TV res max of HD 1080, but that does work with 99% of games and the PS3 and X360 hate the dell 2560 monitor.
