OK, I get it.....the planets and sun all move together.... but why do the stars and constellations (procession of the equinoxes) not also move? By seeing the same stars in the same places each year that must mean we are in a fixed place does it not?
@EvenLennie The stars and constellation are many so-called light years distant, so they appear to not be moving, yet they are moving as well, but slowly. We are not fixed in our location. The Sun is the head of a serpent like Solar body with the planets following behind in helical trajectories. The sun moves above and below the galactic ecliptic in huge vortical spirals. The sun crosses the ecliptic every 25, 625 years. We will be crossing it next year 12-21-2012, this is what 2012 is all about!
