  • I wouldnt mind exploring cities or planets to this song in mass effect.

  • This is getting kinda funny. Genres are basically adjectives or categorical tools to use when talking about music. My original comment's purpose wasn't to say only listen to this one genre if you like it, or to imply that attaching labels to music means you think all artists in that genre sound the same. It's just a way of describing music. You can be open minded still; be a fan of one genre, decide to look up another genre. No big deal. They're just genres. Just categories for music.

  • just...wow

  • I just recently discovered them & got hooked instantly. They are so far from what I listen to. I'm seriously obsessed.

  • This is SICK! :D

  • Simply elegant.

when i listen to this song it just makes me think about the human race and where it's been and what it's gone to now.

..music that makes you think like that is fuckin rad as balls!

  • @Garrettfilms oh god, that's exactly what I was thinking...

  • to me this sounds like the first song on Herz Lude by Lude from 2000. which is a good thing, because that has always been a favorite of mine. thumbs up

  • ....................

  • I love russian circles

  • it's instrumental music. end.of.story

  • So awsome.....................................

  • fucking awesome drums

  • This is my favorite song by them.

  • I feel like this song should play during the beginning of a Terminator movie; like when they show the resistance engaging in all out warfare with the machines in the post apocalyptic world.

  • Yes there's a reason for categorization, but there's no reason for judging and bashing. JUST because of the genre.

  • This song is beautiful. I have nothing else to add.

  • who the fuck are those 3 dislikes !!!

  • @agustinflames Your mom, your dad and your grandmother. You should kill them now.

  • I love how you guys put the labels on them. I always said they're progressive (no set structure to their songs). They categorize themselves as Experimental, Indie, and Progressive. Get over yourselves. Just call them amazing and be done with it. Your "post metal" bs is pointless.

  • this is called siiiiiiick

  • this is so fucking good i just cant stop listening to them..maybe a good band defines its own catergory through its fresh approach..i have thought about catergories for these guys but really i just want to listen to em see where it goes..so fuckin impressed with them

  • this is so fucking good i just cant stop listening to them

  • First time hearing these guys. I am blown away.

  • the drummage on this track is just epic, as is the base!

  • @God Cheers for this fantastic track.

  • Actually it's quite clear what genre this is....post-metal

This dumbass 'music is just music guyss' bs is pointless.

There is, however, a point for categorizing music. If a dude likes ska, are you

gonna show him some shoegaze, or doom metal? No, you're gonna show him

    more ska.

  • @jemimalob While I agree, you can't categorize sounds themselves, at least not specifically. Or what I said is just way beyond all of us, and we're trying to make something profound out of something as meaningless as air compressions. I like to put meaning behind it, though. There is music that makes me pull a stupid face in disgust, and then their is this. Certain notes, chords, harmonies that make your hair stand on end from goosebumps. We can agree, however, that RC fucking rocks.

  • @YouLikeBosch Yes, indeed we can. haha

  • @jemimalob Couldn't agree more.

  • @jemimalob Well, the problem with that argument is that some people, like me, don't identify 100% with any one genre. Yes, there is a reason to categorize music, but music is over-categorized, to the point where we're now spending more time arguing over the right title than enjoying it.. I like and dislike some post-rock, punk, hardcore...I'm not a fan of genres, I'm a fan of music. It should also be noted that most respectable bands to get stuck with the "post-rock" label disown it themselves.

  • @CityofButterfly To take out argument would be to take out nearly every comment on youtube music videos, leaving only 'this is awesome/great/whatever.' There's nothing wrong with argument, so long as it's not meant to insult. If you look for music on the internet you don't find much you'll like, specifying a genre that you feel like listening to helps narrow it down alot. I'm a fan of music too, genres are a tool to help me find new music. Nobody identifies with only one genre.

  • @jemimalob Unless he's open minded, then I would show him some doom metal, and some shoegaze.

  • @jemimalob I like ska, shoegaze, and doom... what are you gonna show me?

  • @IndubitablyMe1988

Perhaps a more correct phrasing of my comment would be "if a dude is looking to listen to some ska..." All I'm trying to say is everything, not just music, is categorized to make finding similar things more convenient. I just get annoyed with that type of comment of "don't categorize music everyone, it's dumb" especially since its one of those generic ones that gets thumbs up on every music video like the "3 people listen to justin bieber" ones and shit.

  • @jemimalob I totally agree with you. I was just fucking around.

  • @jemimalob Why would you close yourself off to a genre? If you like Ska you should be able to get into Doom Metal as well. Good music is good music, and if you can't hear that you don't really like Music. You just like Ska, or whatever, but it's more image than music. If you're into music you're into all music. If you're into one genre you're into a scene.

  • @Sunderlanding I respect your perspective on music, but if what you said was entirely true, there would be no such thing as 'taste' in music, because everyone would like the same artists if they all heard the music. There is no universal scale of what's music is good. Some people, myself included, would never like doom metal no matter how much is shown to them/me. I also very strongly dislike ska, but I enjoy progressive music, post hardcore, some jazz, electronic, stoner rock etc

  • @jemimalob That's not true. I can listen to Jazz, but my tastes prefer Metal. Doesn't mean I'm going to avoid it, or I shouldn't check it out. You listen to music as music, and your taste tells you which you'll listen to more than the other, but all styles should be approached with the same open mind. Who knows maybe the next Jazz band (or whatever genre) will be the one that gets you into that style of music, and if not you've still become more educated about music.

  • @jemimalob i couldnt agree more...if you want to remain narrow minded about your music choice, listen to one kind of music..no matter how you divide it up, music is just music. There's always gonna be categories, Im just saying why the fuck argue..what does it matter...just enjoy it. As for Post-rock, in my opinion its the most ridiculous genre name...its rock, but after rock...but each to thier own. Id rather just listen than row over pish

  • @chainface To each their own indeed.

  • @jemimalob IIndeed man, here I hope my last comment didnt sound ignorant or anything, definitely wasn't intended that way

  • @jemimalob (to me) genres are for people who cant really "see" into the music. it helps them like crutches. but it also helps tons of rubbish new bands to hide behind some ridiculous name and to me it its just a limitation. i dont give a fuck if a band plays "ska" - is it good? thats what matters. real artists dont play music just to be called some awkward term.

  • @searchformulder Name me one "real artist" who doesn't fit into any genre of music. When will you people understand that genres exist and thats just a straight up fact of reality whether you like it or not.

  • @alexmonro83 i didnt say they doesnt exist. they help. but for an artist they should never be a starting point. king crimson is a good example.

  • @searchformulder Well personally I would call king crimson progressive rock. But I get what you mean. Bands shouldn't just copy a genres cliche's wholesale they should push the artistic boundaries. I just don't think its possible to be completely abstract from any previously existing genre. At least thats my opinion.

  • @alexmonro83 yeah i see what you mean. i agree.

  • freaking finally some good talent!

  • dave is fucking amazing!

  • This song is godlike.

  • I personally don't give a shit if it has a label or not OR IF PEOPLE even attempt to put labels on it. Everything has a name..."Music" is WAAAY to general Douchebags...You disrespect Music by calling it all one thing...IT'S MANY THINGS, MANY TYPES OF THINGS...It's synthesized, it's got heavy guitars, its got bass, it's got drums...it's rock, pop, hip hop...Fur realz....Label what you want...it deserves to be IT'S OWN SELF

  • @submissivelover govment came nd took mah babi

  • @bernardbuchanan Rock N roll

  • the begining is awesome!

  • this song makes my nips hard.

  • Airport Terminal Metal, clearly

  • @CletusYokel97 i think its " airportterminal-core metal. . "

  • These guys are obviously post-industrial pre-apocalyptic vegetarian death-drone metal. l2genre.

  • Hello from Reddit (the voice of the internet)

  • lol, Apocalyptic vegetarian death metal.

  • anybody know what that building is on the album cover? also this is great music : )

  • 0:01-7:40. The best part.

  • awesome!!

  • Awesome!!

  • I emailed russian circles management the other day to ask if I could film them for a documentary the next time they were in England. Turns out they told me they don't like being filmed. Gutted, would've been awesome. Anybody else know of any other good instrumental bands I could do a doc about?

  • @stratocaster1986able well there would be some other interesting groups I checked out lately like for instance a band called Pelican.I discovered an extremely underknoledged band called lights at sea also playing instrumentally;Red Sparows.these play mostly under the post-rock genre;you may check some stuff that include occasional vocals like Godflesh or Jesu

  • @bloodyrockfire Thanks dude.

  • @stratocaster1986able don't mention it mate

  • @stratocaster1986able I love the whole post-rock/metal scene, so it really depends on you. Explosions in the Sky and God is an Astronaut both appear to be great live (both are touring, or are going to tour in Europe). You could also go for some Pelican or Red Sparrowes if you want music that sounds a bit like Russian Circles.

  • The intro is ridiculous...My fav song from this album and my favorite drummer! Dave Turncrantz is God.

  • Pure awesomeness

  • there are over billions of people in this world do you think that 1 person is just gonna have the idea of this sound? no. and the only thing similar is the drum beat

  • what an achievement this song has no dislikes :D

  • listen to ARCH & HUM by Shora, and you will understand why I don't like this track.

  • @piqoni I can see sort of how you say it, rim hits, but they're actually different enough for me.

  • very similar to Shora - Arch & Hum.

  • I heard this song in a dream and woke up to it!

  • My favorite drummer... He is, indeed, Gods son.

  • Did you just hear that?! FUCK!

  • @elevitch This is great. I have to hear all their songs now. I found this looking up Pelican videos.

  • This is obv. Post-Metal Vegancore

  • @Nitzleplick WHAT? Are you nuts? It's obviously Meta-Meta-Progressive-Red-Delicious-Applecore... *scoff*

  • dig it, fools!

  • Masterpiece.

  • SONGS SCARY D:

  • i love russian circles and tool and pussy

  • That beat in the beginning is hypnotic.

  • what a class song such a dark mencing beat

  • This is incredible music. Love it.

  • Youtube has the best collection of music this side of the universe!!!!...I'm no music guru...and this is the first song I've heard from this group...but man...this band blows!!!!!!..These are the songs that you listen alone with ur eyes closed, headphones on and volume turned to maximum...when the song is over...

  • When you listen to this, You get the urge to jump up and slay dragons... EPICCCCC

  • This reminds me a lot of "At the Heart of It All" by NIN/Aphex Twin. Great tracks :-)

  • holy fucking shit, this is probably the heaviest groove I've ever heard.

  • Wow I really am disappointed at how you guys argue so fervently over genres...

  • :) !

  • jeeziz fuck...why does everyone insist on throwing labels and genres at bands....who gives a fuck what 'genre' it is....just enjoy the music!

thats no jibe at anyone in particular im just gettin feck off with people arguing wether someone is, post-pre industrial pink pop, or apocalyptic vegetarian death metal!!:P

  • @chainface Haha, I would like to hear some apocalyptic vegetarian death metal

  • @KingOfStaples I'll see what i can do for ya man hahaha.....be warned though, it may contain nuts!

  • @chainface apocolyptic vegetarian death metal...holy fuck,can I use that for a band name?

  • @deafcon4 hahaha no sweat man of course ye can

  • @chainface This is quite simple.

Music is either Badasscore or Justinbiebercore.

  • @GameRecorderZ

"core" is just a horrid genre altogether

  • @GameRecorderZ dont even say that name im public :P

    i hear ye man!

  • @chainface SOTrue, you should listen to the interview w/ Dave Turncrantz.. it will change ur life. In fact he specifically mentions how the band does not want to have vocals for the soul purpose of no being labeled with a genre, because if they had vocals someone would try so label them as hardcore, punk or something else. Also it forces the listener to focus on the musical talent and characteristics of each song, with no vocals to distract you from them. Their genre is called Fucking Awesome!

  • @chainface it only matters cuz when we try to find similar music it's incredibly hard to find it when there's not a concrete genre or keyword to look for.

  • @Cyrus150 I get what you mean but its gone too far i think to many sub sub secondary sub genres, just because some pretentious idiot clone with a hairdo wants to sound cool...i do get what your sayin, but the point i was tryin' to make is that 'creating a new genre' seems to be more important now than creating music with heart and guts, ye know?

  • @Cyrus150

By the way...and youtube will probably hate me for pluggin' someone else, but stick it te the fuckin man right?,use spotify if you're not already,i've found it great for finding new bands, ye might like it!

  • @chainface I happen to like apocalyptic vegetarian death metal..

  • @IndubitablyMe1988 haha so do I...i have to admit I prefer the non vegetarian breed a little more tho :P

  • @chainface AMEN !!
