Over 8 million Kinects are in people homes today, many of those gamers are black or have black relatives and friends, and yet there are NO videos on youtube (not even ONE) that shows Kinect having problems with black skinned people. That fact proves that Kinect works perfectly with ALL skin colours. :-)

It works with Infrared light. It creates a huge field with thousands of dots, if you stand in that field, the dots will be in a different position than they would be when there would be no one in the room. You won't need visible light to use this.

IR-light bounces off everything. Someone stated that it wouldn't work on black people, but that's not true.
