The piece was actually premiered by the Golden State British Brass Band on September 10, 2005. It was commissioned by the GSBBB in memory of Dr. John Swain, a charter member and it's first conductor. Your concert may have been the premier of the concert band transcription, I can't find a date of publication.
I played in this concert. Its a really good piece, but challenging. this was actually the primer of the song. Colonel Palmatier is good friends with Phillip Sparke and got the music for us to play before it was even really published! I play Tenor Sax and was second chair in this band
I am fixing to play this song in an honor band with Colonel Thomas Palmatier also!!! I just recieved the repertoire and decided to look it up on youtube, haha, now I'm so excited to work with him!!! I play the flute by the way. Thank you so much for putting this up :D
