  • i thought kasem retired years ago...american top 10 hasn't been seen in my region since about 1990 or 1991, when it aired on saturday nights at 6:30pm on our local fox affiliate....my mom used to rush home after church to catch casey's weekly countdown every week....

  • @Jayachandran1969 and you bever lost your temper, difference he was being recorded.

  • living legend....Casey Kasem

  • Shaggy ol' Buddy ol' Pal! We love you!

  • Casey Kasem was a great commentator. now we have Ryan Seacrest.

  • @Bobilero1

Comparing Casey Kasem to Ryan Seacrest is like comparing Zeus to Melted Wax! Just doesnt stand up!!

  • i miss him. his voice was great!

  • He sounds worn out here..Thank you for all you have done Casey :-)

    1952-2009

  • I remember listening to Casey Kasem's countdown Saturday & Sunday back on 1984!

  • I truly miss Casey Kasem of the 1970s...Especially those shows from 1970-1975. I was just a kid then and Casey introduced me to the world of pop music. I'm so glad I'm old enough to remember those years because I am so dissapointed with what young kids listen to these days.

  • His voice kept me company through my teen years and beyond. He was such an inspiration to me, that I named my son after him. Yes, I am serious. Love you Casey!! <3

  • Casey Kasem is off-da-chisel!

  • Though radio's not the same without you, I'm very glad that reruns of "AT40" from the '70s and 80s-especially those from before 1977 when I first heard of your program-are in circulation in various stations from around the U.S.A. on the internet. Thanks to wikipedia for identifying them! Have a nice retirement, Mr. Kasem.

  • so... what's he gonna do now?

  • maybe retire

    that'd be my guess

  • well, I wouldn't be TOO sure of that.

Besides, I heard according to ABC News on the web that he's probably gonna be doin' somethin' else.

    still, you maybe right

  • He's still doing voiceovers for Scooby-Doo

  • No he's not. His last voice-over cartoon was "Scooby-Doo and the Samurai Sword". After that, he officially retired.

  • @tnawcwvictoria not any more

  • @gillisav he still plays shaggys father on the new scooby doo show, but other than that he is basically retired

  • the ed mcmahon of the radio.

maybe dana carvey has a job waiting for him.

  • Godspeed, Casey Kasem.
