I am a diehard Janet fan and I have all of her CDs. However, the problem I have with her last few albums, is that Janet has forgotten that the audience that she had 20 years ago are older now. I am 37, I stop going 2 clubs 10 years ago. I find her music 2 be more useful when I'm exercising. But, when I want something 2 groove to I listen 2 J. Scott, A Stone, or E Badu. Janet needs to keep in mind that she still needs to appeal 2 her peers, and let the young folks have Ciara, Beyonce, & etc's.

When you associate Janet, you associate her with dance, yet again there are too many mellow songs on Discipline. Most of the lyrics are indeed 18ish and always in reference to sexual acts or behaviors (hint Discipline). We know you are sexy Janet but can we have a slow ballad without the moaning towards the end. I think she can perhaps use more Discipline on how to be a lady in your 40's.

I agree. I've heard the songs on it, and with the exception of maybe two songs, three if I'm being generous, the tracks sound like things we've heard before from other artists. She continues her string of imitating what the "young kids" are doing. Some of the tracks sound like Timbaland/Timberlake tracks, and even the ballads, which are often her strong point, also sound like songs done by other singers. That's her discipline I guess... imitating other people's styles.

But Britney Spears' music sounds different. Her music's very shallow and throwaway. And now, that's the style that Janet Jackson is imitating. Make sense?
