It's sad to say, but this is probably the best of the female superhero films we have currently which is really not saying much. Really all we have to compare it to are Catwoman and Supergirl, and those are more abysmal than this.
@SLPIFan I hadn't even thought of Catwoman. When you put it that way, this is The Dark Knight by comparison to those disasters. It's such a shame that female characters get shafted so much in this genre. They're either miscast, ineffectual or lazily written to be nothing more than love interests for the male characters or mere eye candy for the audience.
I think the Main problem here is the film makers behind this were not weel versed or invested in The comics. it was just thrown together in a Hurry By Fox. Still Garner in that out fit is seriously HOT !
They plainly showed hints she was still alive at end of Dare Devil movie if you watched it carefully so thought she somehow survived and wasn't really dead, although how she'd survive a wound like that didn't seem to make sense one of those mystical elements I guess. Yeah they didn't really explain her relationship with her mother or why her mother was killed or why she became an assassin but how much of the movie would that take to explain to become the thing you hate. Would be a long movie.
One thing I wonder is why they use the letter sigma for an "E". If a greek saw the title of this movie he or she would read it as "Slsktra".
And yes, I know, hollywood producers are stupid. They pick something because it looks cool, never bothering to do a research about what it actually means.

Sooo true! I'm glad you said that Garner was good, but she had nothing to do, because I personally think she saves this movie from being 100% bad. I've warmed to this movie over time, but everything you say here is very true. Terrance Stamp was a pretty awesome Stick :)

I was only mildly annoyed in Daredevil when "Miller & Bendis" were mentioned as boxers, and I even kinda liked that there was a rapist named "Jose" Quesada, but it's really frickin' distracting when one of the MAIN CHARACTERS is an in joke!
