  • Jah bless. I saw where there as 1dislike of this video. That must b the ignorant/evil 1. prayer works! Tenastalin }:-€

  • It would be interesting if you could speak that slower.

    Anyway thank you for this.

  • We should revitalize Ge'ez as the national language of both Eritrea & Ethiopia to reunite the different habesha peoples within each respective country.

Our habesha ancestors should have never allowed themselves to develop into this divided pento-lingual ethnic group: Tigre, Tigrinya, Amharic, Gurage & Harrari

These 5 habesha peoples should all unite under their original language of Ge'ez...we will become powerful if we do

  • @EriPages Ethiopians, the real pure and pride ones, do not recognize the breakaway artificial state of "Eritrea". Eritrea was, is, and will remain Ethiopian land. The only reason for Eritrea's breakaway from Ethiopia is because of Woyane murderous criminal corrupt dictatorship !!!! We Nationalist Proud Ethiopians dont accept a second Ethiopian independant state !!!!

LONG LIVE THE FREE EMPIRE OF ETHIOPIA !!! HAIL THE NEGUS !!!

  • @EriPages Funny how you just contradict yourself in one comment !!! "Ge'ez as a NATIONAL LANGUAGE"...Ok, fine this is a great idea but "with each respective country" ??! No way. Eritrea has no reason to exist !!!! Look at what Shabiya-Woyane has done to your people !!!! They've HIGHJACKED the "eritrean's revolution" and seperated from the Motherland ITYOPIYA/ABYSSINIYA...

One Language for One Nation for One land for One Head of State for One future for One State !!!!

  • This is It....1

  • Amasegenallo wendem for this video. Tinish amarenya echelallo. It is very helpful for me to be able to see and hear the Lord's Prayer together. And it's an added bonus to see and hear it in the original language of Ge'ez. Both versions are so melodic. I'm currently trying to learn it in Amharic. Do you have a slower version on youtube?

    Igzee'abiher yestilin!

  • Thank you! Let His Love be spread to all corners of the world.

  • god bless u this is nice. I love it.

  • wow sounds like hebrew.

  • Ge'ez is Semitic..the same family as Hebrew..and Tigrinya, Amharic, as well as other east african languages branch off of Ge'ez as well. The Ge'ez accent here isn't what I'm used to hearing, but I appreciate the upload of this prayer with any accent!

  • God bless Beta Israel and Ethiopic Christians. For they are able to use a Semitic language for liturgy. This language is better than Yiddish, Ladino and Old Church Slavonic.

  • :) Ge'ez is a very ancient language. It used to be spoken commonly, but now it's only being kept in use by the Christian Orthodox priests in both Eritrea and Ethiopia as far as I know. I believe the closest branch of Ge'ez is Tigrinya which is spoken by one ethnic group in northern Ethiopia (the Tigray), but mainly spoken by majority ethnic group in Eritrea (the Tigrinya). Eritrea is just north of Ethiopia. I know Christians from both countries who believe they are of Hebrew lineage as well.

  • @nowhere8

Ge'ez is even older than Hebrew and Aramaic.

    I-geez-iAbher

  • These kinds of videos are very useful and helpful for people to learn not only another language, but the beauty of that language in prayer.

Could the words in Ge'ez and Amharic possibly be spelled out somehow on the description section of the video?

    In Christ, God bless.

  • I Abouna Zarabbas,

It is wonderful to see our Coptic counterpart watching EOTC videos. I have included the Ge'ez and Amharic translations of the Lord's Prayer on the information tab to the right of the video clip.
